STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
[+] Rather active, Marcus has great physique and athleticism. A natural hunter and warrior, Marcus has defended his Ghosh from several attacks, both from outsiders and creatures. Because of this, he is a ferocious fighter, utilizing all abilities he can. Furthermore, Marcus uses his strength in Pelekotan to mirror moves his enemy has, allowing him to find weak spots during combat.
[+] Hunting prey on Haruun Kal is difficult, as the jungle tends to eat those that walk through it. Because of this, Marcus can be rather stealthy, and as a result, can sneak and hide very well. Once he gains more ability in the Force, Marcus may even be able to cloak himself from those of lesser intelligence.
[=] Marcus distrusts those that are not of his tribe, and with him leaving Haruun Kal to learn more about the Force, this makes him distrust others incredibly. This impacts him socially, and leaves him at a disadvantage when it comes to others. Furthermore, his understanding of the Force and its abilities complicates his ability to learn more about it.
[-] Marcus is surly and prideful, having great pride in himself and his Ghosh. Because of this, he tends to be headstrong and wily, traits that while useful at times, can usually cause trouble. Marcus has been in a few fights because of his pride, and with him leaving Haruun Kal, this makes him fragile in social situations.
[-] Marcus reveres the Force as a personal deity, believing in its power. Because of this, he may scorn other Force users that use the Force in an unnatural way. This dampens his ability to ally with Jedi, Sith or even Vong, as he distrusts these groups incredibly.
APPEARANCE:
A shaved head, chocolate brown eyes and a strong build compliment Marcus greatly. With a husky voice, the dark skinned Korunnai has many scars and battle wounds all over him. Always distrustful of the situations around him, Marcus constantly looks like he is searching for enemies. Dressed in his village clothes, Marcus looks out of the place in the galaxy around him, and is easy to spot in a crowd. Known for his eclectic body movements, Marcus likes to speak without saying a word, believing action, not words can complete a situation easily.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born in the Undal Ghosh to a young couple, Marcus was orphaned as a young baby and as such, became a Nidosh in the eyes of the tribe. Nidosh are bastard children that carry the full name of the tribe instead of their parents, and because of this, Marcus is an Undal. Claimed by a hunter’s small family after his parent’s death, Marcus was treated as an outsider even by his own tribe. Furthermore, his adoptive family barely took care of him, using him for cheap labor and exploiting him greatly.
Early in Marcus’ teenage years, Marcus was almost evicted from the tribal village itself. Taunted by his fellow peers, Marcus had retaliated rather roughly, evoking his natural Force sensitivity to cause great pain to his enemies. Demanding that he be kicked out of the village, the townspeople rallied against him, threatening to kill the Nidosh for his powers. Before this could happen, the village lor pelek, a shaman/healer that protected the village, stepped in for Marcus.
Taking great interest in the boy, the lor pelek decided then and there that he would make a fine apprentice. The boys’ humble upbringing and lower social status would be ideal for a shaman that could take care of his Ghosh. Stepping in and protecting Marcus, the lor pelek announced his apprenticeship to the people. From then on, Marcus became the lor pelek’s apprentice, learning how to manipulate the powerful abilities of Pelekotan.
All Korunnai are sensitive to the Force, and as such, many of them can use it to manipulate things around them. Most of them use it to assist them in farming, letting them use the Force (or Pelekotan as they called it) to domesticate the animals that were indigenous to the chaotic world of Haruun Kal. The lor pelek however uses the Force to heal those that are injured, and as such, is always busy with assisting villagers. As apprentice to his lor pelek, Marcus learned a great deal of the abilities of the Force and how it could even heal slug wounds.
An Apprentice for most of his life, Marcus became well-versed in the natural abilities of the Pelekotan and even started to surpass his teacher in his abilities. Marcus was almost in his early twenties when war broke out between several rival Ghosh’s. Tribal war was terrible on Haruun Kal and usually amounted to villagers gunning one another down with primitive slug throwers. Wounded from the various battles around his village caused Marcus a great deal of pain, as he too wanted to defend his villages honor.
When old enough, Marcus went against the lor peleks advice, and went out with the raiding parties. Attempting to raid another villages food stores, Marcus’ tribal brothers were killed during the supposed raid, with Marcus the only one to survive. When he returned to his village, the lor pelek disciplined him for his ignorance, as all lor peleks stay out of war.
However, a fire burned in Marcus, and he could not watch his fellow brothers in arms fall any longer. Taking up his own rifle, Marcus gathered the remaining men of the village, and raided several targets in just a few weeks. Soon, talk came of Marcus becoming the tribal chief, and support was high for him. Due to his war-like rage however, he was dropped as an apprentice to the lor pelek, who lauded him for his blood-lust. Even still, this only stirred more anger in Marcus, who continued to raid and destroy rival villages and enemies with his fellow doshallai. (Translation is clan-brothers)
When the war died down, the tribal leader of Ghosh Undal implicated Marcus with crimes. Unable to clear his name, Marcus attempted to defend himself by getting support from his old mentor, sure that his testimony would clear him. Furthermore, Marcus assumed the local people would rally to his defense. None of this came, and his old mentor never came to his assistance. Banishing him from Haruun Kal, the tribal leader, ultimately jealous of Marcus’ war abilities, branded Marcus as a Balawai (Translation means Outsider. This is a horrible insult.)
Banished from his home and hungry for more power, Marcus left with a promise. He would return one day, and unite the Korunnai tribes. Until then, Marcus would train and hone his abilities in Pelekotan, almost certain that the Force could be used for more powerful reasons.
