Manual Labour

She'd heard stories, of course. Everyone who had a decent ability to read had read the stories from over eight hundred years ago. She'd read the stories about a ship, a ship she really really wanted to get her hands on. She doubted however, she honestly doubted the ship was still alive, but if anyone could repair it.... if anyone could make it work it was her.

The ship she wanted was the Millennium Falcon. A ship she'd read about and really wanted, a ship that had lead many a battle in it's time. She had heard the legacy of it, but she'd also heard that the last time it was seen it was in bits. She wasn't sure, she couldn't be sure. She didn't really want to believe it, and she thought about this while sat in the cockpit of her X-Wing. Her R4 droid Sparky beeped behind her and she shook her head.

"Endor. If the story's I heard were correct then the Falcon lead a great battle here just after Yavin. I figured that this would be the best place to start, I guess I was drawn here because of the history that ties it all together". The droid beeped again and she nodded. "I agree, the Falcon has a chance of it's final resting place being here" she told him, fingers brushing the controls as she pitched the X-Wing down to land.

"If it isn't here, I have a feeling I know where else we could look, you get me?"

She brought her X-Wing down into Endor's atmosphere slowly. Feeling her hands brushing the controls of the ship she nodded, reading off the translation of the droid's beeps even if she didn't really need it. She'd been around Sparky enough to understand him mostly. "I don't know, I honestly don't. Stories have been known to be wrong, you of all people should know that buddy. I thought you believed in space monsters still" she told the droid, reading off the translation of the angry beeps behind her. She chuckled, barrel rolling the X-Wing, mainly just to show off.

She slowly tipped her fighter down, a shallow decent towards the planet surface. She almost hoped she found the ship here, or at least a clue to where it is. Or if it's in bits then a clue to find the location of the bits. She sigh lightly, flicking a small leaver to her left. Her targeting computer shot out, the droid beeping lightly. "It's a forest planet, you wish I could see anything without it" she replied, eyes drifting round lightly.

"God I hate Endor"

She slowly guided her ship towards a small clearing to the east of her. She pulled a leaver on the control board, landing gear slowly exiting the ship. She felt them hit the ground, felt her fingers instantly hit the power button. Instinct, she'd been piloting for that long her body just knew every single button to hit. She chuckled to herself, fingers connecting with the droid release button. With any hope Sparky would land below the X-Wing, ready to meet her.

She slid her helmet off, pushing open the canopy. Endor was humid, the trees giving off moisture into the atmosphere and trapping in heat. She shook her head, glad she'd chosen to don a basic white vest. Chuckling she stood, easy considering the space around her. It was quiet, basic and bland. Just trees as far as the eyes in her skull would let her see. Grabbing a hold of the cockpit edges, she pushed up, sliding down the side of the cockpit onto the ground below. Twigs snapping below her as she landed, a perfect end for the useless things they were.

"I remember reading about the battle here. Thousands of rebel troops fighting like the useless pawns they were in the galaxies biggest war"
