[SIZE=9pt]Adaptable magazine loads: Sometimes you need to run and gun, sometimes you need to be able to hold a position and just shoot a lot. The Mangler Cannon is able to do either, so long as you have the proper magazine on hand to fit the need.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Heavy firepower: Flechette rounds pack a heavy punch. They are ideal for carving away at several enemies close together, for crowd control, or for taking on lightsaber wielding foes since they cannot be blocked. And for a flechette round, this one is rather large too.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Phrik: Phrik is tough stuff, the Mangler cannon is resistant to lightsaber, kinetic, and heat damage.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]EMP/ion resistant: There aren’t a lot of working electronic parts on the Mangler cannon. An EMP or Ion damage wouldn’t hurt it, but they might do damage to the attachments it has on it. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Rugged: The Mangler Cannon takes a lot to jam or clog up. It is waterproof, mud proof, and dirt proof. It is simple with the number of moving parts it has, reducing the chances for something to go wrong. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Heavy: This weapon is, at its heart, a machine gun. As a result, it is heavy and cumbersome. Shooting this one handed is laughable, the only beasts big enough to handle its weight and recoil that well couldn’t fit their finger through the guard or grip the stock. The larger the magazine, the heavier and more cumbersome the Mangler Cannon gets. When the Mangler cannon has 100+ rounds, it is for all intents and purposes impossible to carry on foot with anything faster than a walking pace. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Recoil: The recoil on this machine gun is rather high. Using a tripod, propping the gun against a wall, or mounting it to the back of something can help to mitigate that, but obviously that costs all mobility.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Reduced accuracy: The recoil itself makes the Mangler Cannon hardly able to squeeze out more than single shot at a target with pinpoint accuracy. More than that, the pure nature of the Flechette round makes accuracy laughable. Beings standing near the target are almost guaranteed to take splash damage; firing into melee is not recommended since it is almost promised to do as much damage to your friends as your foes.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Reloading speed: To reload the Mangler cannon, you have to pop the loading chamber open, toss the magazine aside, grab a second one, feed the first flechette round into the chamber, attach the second to the magnetic grip on the side, slam the loading chamber closed, and pull back the loading hammer to chamber the first round. It takes two hands and takes more time than just popping a canister on or off. To belt feed the Mangler cannon (usually for extra ammo), the process takes longer with pulling the belt of bullets out and feeding it into the firing chamber directly.[/SIZE]
Sometimes all you need is a bigger gun, sometimes you just need to deal out as much damage as possible. For that reason, Toni made her Mangler Cannon. It’s a rather simple weapon, just a flechette repeater with a design that maximizes function over appearance. Toni loves the utilitarian design; she is here to do business not flaunt a fashion show.
The flechette repeater is able to fire in three speeds; single, three round burst, or fully auto, depending on the needs that Toni has. The Mangler Cannon sports different magazine sizes as well to suite each occasion. Its functionality is limited only by preparation and ammunition.
It is not a solution to every problem, of course. The sheer nature of Flechette rounds is a liability when friendlies or non-combatants are near the target. Second, the weapon is genuinely heavy and has a fair amount of recoil.
All in all, it is a flechette repeater.
