Public Mando Swimming Class (open to MU+friendlies)

Morgayne swam in some body of water or other, staying close to shore. As a Melodie, she was a strong swimmer, and as the Alor of the Muirgheal Clan, she specialized in underwater combat. She wasn't going to teach combat quite yet. Not until the ones who came could avoid drowning. If it did come to it later, she was more than willing to teach them.

As the ones she was to teach arrived, the Melodie removed her helmet so they could see her face. "Su cuy, vode. Ni gai cuyir Morgayne. I'm the Alor of Clan Muirgheal. For those of you who don't know, we specialize in underwater combat. Unless I trust you won't drown, I won't be teaching any combat. I will be here for the next week or so, which means there is a chance you will learn some combat. Now, first things first. You need to learn to swim. First, you flip your tail, like so." Morgayne demonstrated by doing just that, sending her about a meter forward in one stroke. Seeing the likely confusion on their faces, she grinned and laughed. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Come on into the water."

Leddie practically seemed to bounce in. Finally a chance to get away for a little bit. Not that she didn’t like how, or miss her Mom’s cooking, but it was kinda nice. While she’d usually be wearing her armor, the young Zabrak figures a swimsuit was probably a better choice. She did bring her bes’bev and Trayc’kals though. She would smile as she walked up to the water, looking at the Mandalorian in the water. She waved happily before watching them swim up.

“Su cuy’gar.” She smiled as she looked, setting her stuff to the side before the lesson started. And already Leddie was confused. She didn’t have a tail. How was.... Oh! She laughed a little realized it was a joke. She then looked at the water, letting it go over her toes.

“This is gonna be fun!”

This was a cruel fething joke, however many of the brotherhood and even her own clan had pushed for stardust to try and attempt to take these swimming lessons despite her...well stardust wouldn't exactly call it a disability per say...but certainly it was a thorn in the side for the fierce warrior, not to mention her daughter begged her to learn so when they went to beaches star could swim out with her...

Swallowing her pride and annoyance star moved forward towards the waters edge, she had her armor on for now but underneath she had a wet suit on she could quickly change into. Stepping forward she watched a creature she had seen in passing but certainly never had a chance to see up close, standing at a sort of attention she watched and blinked at how briskly she could swim and sighed a little...this was gonna be annoying

She was told to come forth, hesitation sprung up before she stepped back as she started removing her armor, sighing as she was in her wet suit but...she rather be in her suit that could seal. Taking a few steps forward into the water she felt the water on her feet and took a few breaths as she looked forward uncertain she could even float even without her armor on...

Morgayne smiled at Leddie Gred Leddie Gred as she voiced her enthusiasm, turning to Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae and watching her hesitate. "You can enter with or without your beskar'gam. It's up to you." The Melodie said, then swam towards Stardust. "If you need me to, I can walk you in if you're afraid." It was a genuine offer, not intended as a joke or in a pitying way. "Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it."

Leddie looked over, noticing Star walk up. “Ba’vodu Star? I didn’t know you needed lessons.” The Zabrak’s mind might have just gotten away from her a little, bit it did surprise her to see someone like Stardust there. She was a skilled warrior. The young Mandalorian was often surprised though. She then looked at Morgayne, nodding a little as she stepped further in.

She would keep going into the water until she felt like she had to swim, smiling a little at the feeling of the water. She smiled, trying to kick her feet a little, and slipped before quickly trying to get her head out of the water.

“That’s slick.”

Stardust looked towards Morgayne Muirgheal Morgayne Muirgheal , swallowing a little she looked towards the water and took a depe breath as she was trying to push past her pride and fear

I'm not afraid, nothing can make me afraid after all I've seen its just... i... legitimately cant swim

Rubbing the back of her neck she sighed a little as she glanced to her niece and got the look of embarrassment

most of my body's muscle mass is slightly increased, more importantly my leg bones are a lot denser then your normal twilek and well...I dont exactly float without help...

Water, just another element of nature, and another aspect of warfare. Both any Mandalorian should master to hold an edge over all their foes. And though it was extremely rare to go into water combat, Adenn still felt it would be useful to attend this swimming 'lesson'. Granted, he knew how to swim and how to fight, but Clan Muirgheal was a clan of Melodies. They were experts of all things water, so Adenn had decided to attend.

When he finally arrived at the given coordinates, Adenn noted he was somewhat late. His wife would no doubt call it 'fashionably late', but Adenn knew he was late. Why? Imprecise information is the reason he'd give, not that it mattered now. He was here, and it was clear vode were already heading into the water. Giving them a once over as he removed his helmet, Adenn was pleasantly surprised to notice several individuals he recognized. Among them being Leddie and Stardust.

Making his way towards them, Adenn caught the tail end of their conversation, and realized the conundrum. Opening his mouth, Adenn shut it just as quickly. He'd give his suggestions some other time, right now it was time for Alor Morgayne to give her lessons and help some vode. Thus, Adenn simply appeared by Star's shoulder, clapping her on the back with a laugh.
"You'll do fine Star! We'll get some repulsors into your armor to help with weight, it's what I do for my armor." Grinning, Adenn clapped her shoulder as he made his way into the water. Over his shoulder, Adenn called out with a laugh. "Just gotta lay off the uj cake as well!"

Leddie giggled a little, standing back up.

"Ok Alor Muirgheal. I will." As she looked around, she saw Adenn and smiled, giggling a little at what he told Stardust.

"Ba'buir! That's so rude." Even if she was laughing along with the joke. She would try kicking some more, already seeming to enjoy the water. It wasn't like she didn't like the outdoors, but at this point she'd spent half her life in space, so she just never had a chance to learn to swim. She then looked at Morgayne, smiling more.

"How do we start?"

She was late! Not by much, probably, but that didn't matter! Leddie Gred Leddie Gred was gonna be at the swim lesson, and it had been sooooooo long since Lailya had seen her cousin! Two weeks was a very long time! Running across the shore to where the lesson was to be held, obviously dressed in a swimsuit, Lailya nearly tripped taking off her shoes between steps. As she got closer to the lesson area, she tossed her shoes and sunhat to the side, out of reach of the tide, and tackle hugged her cousin.

"LEDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"

Squealing with joy, Lailya almost forgot that her Ba'Vodu Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae and Ba'Buir Adenn Kyramud Adenn Kyramud were there too!

"Ba'Vodu! Ba'Buir! Su cuy'gar!"

Grinning at her aunt and grandfather, Lailya gave both of them a wave as she continued to hold on to her cousin, before turning her attention to Morgayne Muirgheal Morgayne Muirgheal and waving at her in greeting.

"Su cuy'gar! You're the teacher, right? I kind of know how to swim, but I'm not that great at it. You can help me get better though, right?"

Morgayne grinned at Adenn Kyramud Adenn Kyramud 's comment. As Lailya Solus Lailya Solus asked if she was the teacher, the Melodie nodded. "Yes, I'm the teacher, and I'll do the best I can." She swam a few meters away from shore. "There are many ways a humanoid could choose to swim, few of which I can properly replicate for you. One of the basic things one must learn is floating. You can float on your back or on your belly." Morgayne demonstrated, leaning back and relaxing as she spread her arms, her tail rising to the surface. She chose to float on her back simply so the others could hear her. "Relax your bodies and spread your weight. Don't worry if you don't get it immediately. It took me some time before I could float." After a minute or so of floating, the Alor returned to an upright position. "Three of the basic swimming styles are the breaststroke, the backstroke, and the butterfly stroke. For each of these, you must kick your legs." Perhaps she was starting too basic, but she wanted to make sure no one here drowned trying to learn underwater combat.

Leddie heard her name, but didn't have time to react before feeling someone jump on her. The zabrak would slip a little, keeping herself above water this time before realizing who it was.

"LAILYA!!!" She hugged back, smiling. "I didn't know yo were coming too!" She laughed a little, then quickly started listening to Morgayne. Float. Ok. This should be easy right? Then Leddie leaned back, relaxed, and... her legs started to sink. She kicked a little, getting her legs backup before they sank again. Come on! Stay up! Leddie grumbled, a little as she kept trying, but still nothing.

"Come on! It's just floating!" She would finally just cross her arms and let the class continue, and listening to the kinds of swimming there was.

The Gimm was literally born a swimmer, being a Karkarodon of course. The armor always makes it slightly difficult, but by this time, he had gotten used to it. Swimming lessons, he didn't need them, but always enjoyed swimming when he could. "Hey Morgayne! How's teaching?!"

Morgayne grinned at Gimm Dormit Gimm Dormit and waved him over. "It's going. We're starting with the basics. I could use some help with teaching the swimming styles that require legs." She turned to the rest of the group. "This is Gimm. He'll be teaching the aspects of swimming that I can't." Did she just volunteer him for being teacher's assistant? Yes.

"Wait.. WHAT!!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOO!!!! I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS!!! NO NO NO NO NO!!!!" Gimm complained. But he knew that when Morgayne needed him to do something, he had to do it.
