Mako was born on En’Xiz’Staj, a fringe world in what was known as a sector called the Outer Rim Worlds. This group of worlds formed a small loose coalition, one that was represented as one body in the bigger but still volatile 12 nation Sajnen Confederate. The Outer Rim Worlds had joined the larger confederate more over to protect themselves from the ever increasing threats and occasional attacks from alien oppressors formally known as the Xendaj. Although many a time, the local planetary governments of the Outer Rim Worlds did not agree with some of the methods of the other member confederate nations, notability that of the House of Sunrider on how the Xendaj threat was being dealt with, however they continued their alliance within the seemingly protective borders of the Sajnen Confederate.

Mako was the youngest daughter and only surviving child of her parents, who were just average working class citizens. Her elder brother had tragically died in a freak accident involving a fighter craft, leaving both of Mako's parents grieving for years when Mako was still but a little girl. Her brother was a lot older than her who had much affection for his much younger sister. The day she had learnt of what happened, and that he would never be coming back, had also left young Mako devastated for years.

As she grew older, Mako herself became interested in piloting and the sheer thrill of speed. She quickly learnt that she had a natural talent for flying high and fast, much to the despair of her parents who had already lost their older son in a fighter craft accident many years prior. Yet they had expected the day that Mako would take up her wings to come too, as it was evident that as she grew up, that she was much like her late brother.

Mako however did have other interests. She was good with computers and a master slicer or hacker. Her occupation very much involved working for companies involving computing and security, mainly software security where Mako would test new software and hardware for security breaches by slicing them herself, and then be involved in developing a fix.

She was generally good with hands on repairing. As flying aircraft and ships was her passion, she generally would learn and then carry out her own maintenance and repairs of her own fighter, plus learn how to modify it and enhance it.

Mako was and still is to date a peaceful person. Much opposed to violence and fighting unless absolute necessary. As a result in the beginning she had refused to learn any form of martial combat or self defence. However over the years, it would soon become evident that this lack of skill would become a problem, as she would find herself vulnerable when those who sought to protect her were not around.

Then one day her life would change. Not knowingly at first, she would meet the then First Prime of Sunrider Kixi Rajki. Kixi in-fact had been sent in search of Mako. It was a bizarre situation. Kixi herself had found herself at a cross roads with her life. As the first prime of Sunrider, she was made and had voluntarily committed many harsh and terrible acts. Yet Kixi’s subconscious would tell her otherwise. Kixi and her first in command and also close friend Kajtia Xiz’injhürek had been recently captured by an opposing resistance faction. A group that opposed the tyrannical methods implied by the House of Sunrider. The group secretly funded by Kixi’s father, ruler of the House of Rajki had hired them to capture Kixi who had blindly defected to the House of Sunrider, and was serving its ruler Lord Xiz”Jhan as his right hand warrior or first prime. As a result of Kixi being captured, her men had been killed while fighting, and Kajtia captured with Kixi. Kajtia was then executed before Kixi’s eyes and Kixi taken away. However Kixi managed to escape.

In escaping Kixi did not kill her captors. Kixi had felt all along that something was not right. Inside Kixi had always been a good and kind hearted person. A person who wanted to fight and defend her home worlds, and was easily manipulated in doing so in ways that were harsh and not necessary. Her captors instead encouraged Kixi to travel far out to the planet En’Xiz”Staj. There she would meet someone who could help her, to understand the person that she really was and help her back on the path of the light. That person would be Mako. First when Mako had encountered Kixi, she wanted nothing to do with her, knowing that in actual fact she was Lord Xiz’Jhan’s first prime. Yet as Kixi persisted and pleaded her case to her, Mako begun to soften up to Kixi. In time the two would begin to understand one another, and Mako helped Kixi see the light in the perspective that deep down was her very being, and that that her father Hajkon had wanted. Not long after the two would fall madly in love with one another. The relationship would quickly become serious and intimate, one that would eventually see the two wed and be together until Mako’s death.

Lord Xiz’Jhan eventually discovered what was happening between Mako and Kixi, and the way Kixi was changing. On several occasions he had tried to indirectly and secretly have Mako killed, but ultimately had failed each time. Kixi had eventually discovered this fact, and the couple, along with a compliment crew loyal to Kixi, fled from the Androj’Meden Galaxy into the Galaxy. Of course in the end, this had all been planned by the evil and powerful Lord Xiz’Jhan himself, as a means to prepare for a future invasion of the Galaxy. Yet that in itself would have little or no effect on Mako’s future moving forward.

As the years passed, Mako would become the first officer onboard Kixi’s starship the MXS Morihei Ueshiba. Due to Kixi’s Jedi training and later Jedi commitments, the ship’s captain’s absence meant that Mako would mostly be in command of the Ueshiba. However it became evidently apparent that Mako’s lack of combatant skills was becoming a problem. Kixi who would do anything for Mako, including sacrificing her life couldn’t be there for her all the time to defend her had the need arised. Soon after both Kixi and Braj’tec sough to train Mako as a fighter. Braj’tec Qarr woud teach her Teras Kasi and marksmanship, while Kixi various sword fighting arts including knife throwing. However none included the lightsabre. Yet despite all this, Mako who had become a formidable fighter, would still oppose any form of violence or fighting and only resort to it as a last means.

In 843 ABY or 12106 ADA, Kixi and Mako become a team known as KnM Blade as they begin to undertake missions together. The two women would fight as a dynamic duo across all fronts in service to the Jedi and Republic, and from time to time others, notably Kixi’s long lost sister Imogen would join the team. In that same year, Kixi and Mako were finally married in a grand ceremony. Offically Mako would become Zaneca Rajki due to the union, however most people still would refer to her as just Mako.

In 851 ABY or 12114 ADA, Lord Xiz’Jhan finally would order the assassin Kes En’jusek, a deceitful cold hearted killer whom for years had deceived Kixi into being her friend, but was really serving Lord Xiz’Jhan and had committed many unspeakable crimes behind her back, to kill both Kixi and Mako as his invasion fleet begun to near the edge of the Galaxy at Vector Prime. Kes soon after would begin her hunt to hunt down and kill both the unsuspecting Kixi and Mako, whom at the time had been away on personal leave. Kes eventually lures the couple into a trap, brutally maiming Kixi and leaving her for dead, while killing Mako. The entire ordeal would involve extreme violence and sexual assault being unleashed on both of Kes’ victims. Kixi would survive the ordeal and be transformed into eX Blade aka Chieade Lama, after undergoing extensive facial and body surgeries. After taking up her new identity as Chieade Lama, Kixi would be officially declared deceased days later, and Mako’s funeral held as her body would be burnt on a pyre and Kixi would bid her farewell.

In 860 ABY or 12123 ADA. Kixi eventually would die in the arms of the Nautalan Jedi Knight Nena Ka, after defeating the Dark Jedi Lord Xiz’Jhan. Kixi as a result of her own death is reunited with Mako in the afterlife. A funeral would not long after be held for Kixi Rajki on Voss, and then her ashes would be mixed with those of Mako who had died years prior. Kixi had requested to keep Mako’s ashes so that when her time of passing would finally come, that they be mixed together and then promptly laid to rest in a tomb made for both Kixi and Mako. The tomb of both Kixi and Mako would be situated on Voss, which is what had become Kixi’s home world after becoming a Jedi and Mako’s after both women had been wedded.

Clarification Sajnen naming convention after marriage. For this character the birth name is Mako Zaneca. Mako being the first name and Zaneca the surname. In Sajnen society same sex marriage is common, especially among females as there are a lot more females per capita than males. Later on at some point, Mako Zaneca is wedded to Kixi Rajki. In a normal union scenario between a male and a female, the name of the male remains unchanged and the female takes her surname as her first name and the surname of the male as her new surname. In a situation of a same sex marriage, the more dominate female, in this case Kixi Raji retains her name as would a male, and the less dominate female, in this case Mako Zaneca, changes her name according to the Sajnen naming convention for married couples. Using this method, all first names and second names if any are dropped for Mako Zaneca. The maiden surname becomes the first name and the married surname becomes the new surname as already mentioned. Therefore Mako Zaneca spouse of Kixi Rajki becomes the new name of Zaneca Rajki after marriage.
