DESCRIPTION

A replacement for the 'Amaterasu' Assault fighter and named after an associate of Kurayami's from far in his past, this craft takes the best of the former and improves on its predecessor's shortcomings. The Makaria is a capable aerial combatant as well, though it is lacking shielding, the composition of the hull helps to offset this, being made of phrik plated with reinforced duraplast to grant a better resistance to commonly encountered anti-starfighter measures, such as ion weapons, EMP, and the like.

The paint scheme is his signature mottled dark and light grey with light yellow trim with '13' on prominent display on the 'tailfins' and both the dorsal and ventral wing sections. This is intetional, making him stand out on the battlefield, though this will prove frustrating to an enemy as there are measures taken to provide for disrupting enemy targeting. First and foremost is the bandorium nanospheres in the paint, these do not provide full passive stealth, simply make it harder for an enemy to keep a solid lock during an aerial engagement. Next in the inclusion of a modified Phantom 4x jamming system as a means to momentarily blackout enemy sensor scans or break the track of a warhead approaching terminal phase. The 4x is modified to cover a broader range of sensor types and is often used in conjunction with an IFF scrambler to cause further confusion amongst enemy sensor operators or pursuing fighters.

The ship is equipped with eight forward facing modular bays, two forward mounted, agrocite enhanced R-9x laser cannons, and centerline mounted ventral bomblet generator. This makes the ship potentially dangerous even to ships that outclass it in size or defensive measures depending on the loadout. The loadout would require dedicated support facilities fully stocked to change weapons in the middle of a battle, and even then that would be assuming that there was enough time to do so. Due to this, the ship is considered to be in a static configuration once it has departed.
