Maiz Tor'val is the third daughter of the Queen Matron Jhael'dra Tor'val, ruler of Xaresh, Elamsha, Arch Priestess of the Sacred Goddesses.

As a young royal there is considerable pressure to claim one or more mates, and to establish her position in society. At the top of the social hierarchy, opportunities to demonstrate her worth and contribution to society are difficult to come by. This is even more challenging as the third daughter to the Queen. Failure is not an option as it would besmirch the Queen and be an affront to the Goddesses.

Once her world was Planeshifted into this galaxy, however, Maiz found opportunity thrust upon her. Her Matron declared that Maiz would be part of a delegation of their number to interact with the nearby Mandalorian Empire; their duty would be to learn the ways and capabilities of the aliens that now surround their world, and report back to the Queen to secure Elamsha's future. With peerless training in the mystic arts of the Goddesses, Maiz possesses the martial and mystic ability to defend herself should the need arise.

Maiz is a woman of many dispositions depending on circumstances. With the highest level of education in command and etiquette, she is particularly adept attending formal gatherings; though she lacks the fathomless experience her Matron possesses. Everyday obligations (or duties) are met without complaint and with nothing less than her best on offer. While in battle she exemplifies the ferocity and resilience that has been engrained in her people over generations of resisting the Elamshan enemy, the Darthiir.

When not enveloped in obligation of one kind of another, however, she remains direct, but playful to draw people in socially. When societal obligation does not demand certain decorum, Maiz is free to engage others openly and without restraint. With aliens this would undoubtedly lead to misunderstandings with the Elamshan new to the galactic community and unaware of their ways. Nevertheless, this uncertainty does not seem to instill hesitation in Maiz's word or deed.
