APPEARANCE:

BIOGRAPHY:

Maeya was born into a nomadic community of Vahla and those serving the dying cult - Ember of Vahl. Such communities are scarce given the current state of the Galaxy, and most go undetected, keeping their practices alive in secret. Such suppression can only lead to cracks forming - a growing unrest among an disorganized, separated people.

Like her siblings, Maeya was to serve the Goddess. She didn't know better when she was young, carrying out ancient practices of her culture as she was initiated deeper and deeper into the cult. However, when she was sixteen, the community took refuge on a trading planet on the outer rim, and Maeya met a young boy named Faren, who quickly became close to her. He was not of Vahla descent, nor had anything to do with the Ember of Vahl, and with his help she began to think for herself.

The trading planet was quiet enough, allowing the cult and its members to grow stronger, but the time came when it was time to leave. Now nineteen, Maeya did not want to continue down this path that had been forced upon her. The cult was questionable to her - their beliefs, their dabbling in Dark things that she did not understand, and their brooding over the Jedi. Not only this, but she did not wish to leave Faren. They had fallen in love, and for him she would deny the cult. In turn, the Ember of Vahl exiled her. Her father had been the most sympathetic of her, perhaps because of his human nature, and he told her to keep her special connection to the unseen secret, and her ties to the Vahla buried.

From there, Maeya and Faren hopped between planets taking mediocre jobs, and eventually a mercenary crew took them in. Here, she learned the basic tools to survive in the Galaxy - how to take care of herself through combat, thievery, and other criminal activities.

One day, on leave, she found Faren in bed with the crew's medic. Life changed for Maeya that day - an anger bubbled inside of her that was not of anything natural in origin. Her great love died by her hands, along with his mistress. All Maeya remembered was a white hot anger filling her and erupting all around her, and when she woke from the darkness, they were dead. Scared of herself and scared of what was within her, she retreated for some time in remorse and confusion.

In the dark twisted nature of the Valha, and in the more level headed human side of her, she came to a conclusion - Maeya spent the next three years training as a medic. It was an internally destructive profession, because every day she was reminded of Faren, and his lover, and the hurt that he had given her, and the sins she committed on that dreadful day. Twisted, and full of dark, helpless humor.

Her qualifications weren't registered, but she trained under an experienced field medic who had his licence revoked after an unfortunate event during his time in the military. Among criminals, qualifications weren't exactly necessary, and so it was easy to find jobs with various crews and medical facilities on planets. Many wondered why such a graceful and bright woman had fallen into such a life among mercenaries, but in a twisted way, she enjoyed being around sinners and the unlawful.

Maeya's human nature taught her to be kind and compassionate in her career, but it was always met with the Vahla twin wrecking havoc inside her being. A split personality perhaps, or just the Dark Side trying to break free into the force surrounding her, either way, Maeya kept her 'secret' hidden, just as her father had warned.

Powers:

Untrained in the force, Maeya's abilities are limited. During her time with her family and the cult, she was taught to meditate on her intuition and her emotions, there was no line drawn between the light side and the dark, the force came to her as it did, uncontrolled swaying in neither direction. If she would have stayed with the Ember of Vahl, the darkness would have become more prominent as she was trained further. Even then, the Vahla did not refer to the force in the way that the Jedi or Sith would, it was more the will of the Goddess. But talks with Faren of old lore, Maeya knew that the way the cult taught was not the correct way the rest of the Galaxy had intended.

During Maeya's career as a medic, she discovered that she could draw on the force inside of her to heal wounds and illnesses. Numerous of her scars were done at an early age when she belonged to the cult, but she had inflicted on herself when the curiosity of her ability had risen.

Blinding anger, white rage, perhaps force push, or something similar that is dark and unearthly can develop. Most Vahla have a fixation with fire, so something with fire would be fitting to accompany the rage.
