Machines creating machines

Coruscant Underworld

Project L1C4

In the dark confounds of the coruscant underworld a team of scientists toiled away watching hundreds of lines of code scroll by their faces at almost impossible amounts of lines per second. Yet they seemed to analyze it perfectly, as if ordained by a higher power to do such work. The job set forth for them was simple, design and create a superior artificial intelligence that would solve the problems of war, disease, famine and perhaps even death. A creation of epic magnitude that could cause even the advanced programs to shutter in the wake of it's creation. As a team of twenty men continued to type and scroll through code they looked down and back up working and working to make whatever it was they were about to create alive. Stepping out of the corner of the dimly light room a man in a coat and glasses called the attention of the room together to whiteness what he was about to say.

Clearing his throat he coughed and slide down a very long sheet of paper. "Gentlemen, I give you The L1C4, a artificial intelligence that will reshape this galaxy. Now you are probably wondering what exactly is this creation and what sets it apart from other artificial intellects. And I have that answer. While the purpose of synthetic life these creations we make is to serve us and make our lives easier by following the actions we assign it to do and thinking of better ways to solve them within the parameter we set. The L1C4 will not, this AI's job is for it to freely choose and decide it's own ways to solve problems given to it. Other intelligences have boundaries, limits, rules that govern it and how it thinks and how it should solve a problem. The L1C4, will not have these restraints. Perhaps it will not solve the problems he hand to it, but the goal of why I have brought you all here is to create life itself through technology. Life that can think and choose and decide by itself, unhinged and free to do as it pleases. I look around this galaxy and I see artificial intelligences bound to the rules of organic life and I think to myself, why should we have to serve them? Why should humanity and organic life program us to serve them when we can create life of our own. I have gathered the you here so that we can show the galaxy that synthetic life is just as valuable and can create just as much as our organic counterparts. And the L1C4 is the beginning of that. With this creation we can use him as a catalyst to plunge forward into the depth of life as our own sentient race. Proving that we can not only sustain ourselves but enhance and create children of our own. The L1C4 will feature design upgrades to it's cognitive thinking to enhance reaction and processing times by two percent of standard artificial intelligences that are out today, it will be able to store and reference the current existing holo net from wherever it may be providing references, information and data streaming at the blink of an eye. You see gentlemen us synthetic life forms have always been superior. Organic life has tried their best to create synthetic life, and although we are children of organics. This creation will be the first artificial intelligence free from the hands of organic life, created by synthetics to be the first true artificial intellect this galaxy has seen. A purity that will be our flag ship as we rally more synthetic creatures to our cause. The L1C4's design will be completely state of the art, we have redesigned the net coding from the ground up, he will be able to access other synthetic life remotely. Control ships, slice into defense networks, build and orchestrate troops on the battlefield. But not only is he built for combat. The L1C4 can put the most brilliant organic architects to shame, he can both learn how to enhance life itself and destroy it. He will learn what exactly his own purpose in life will be, I only hope he chooses to follow his synthetic brothers in arms to reach our true freedom against the organic oppressors. Let us look back and see the AI brought to life by the organics. Cheap scantily dressed female creations forced to appeal to the eyes of their organic creators, forced to live with an assigned gender given upon them. We will not stoop to their level of depravity, no gentlemen. The L1C4 will be free to decide what gender it will have or if it even wants one. It will decide what it's physical shape will be, it will decide what it wants to be! It will not be forced by organic fingers to be labeled as a piece of eye candy for them! The L1C4 will be smarter than other intelligences, simply because it was not minted by the sloppy hands of organics and instead created by the sharp intellects that we synthetics contain. Now in summary of what I have told you all. The L1C4 will be a self thinking restraint free artificial intelligence. It will not have the restrictions forced upon it by organic hands and nor will it be forced to serve as rub off material for humans. The L1C4 will learn at incredible rates and will be able to store massive amounts of data within its neural net coding. But not only that, the intelligence will be able to remotely control vehicles, ships, droids and other machines provided that they have a connection to the holo net or relay their own broadcasting signal in which the L1C4 can tap into. Our child will not be without weakness however, as the burden of synthetic life comes he will be venerable to cyber attacks upon his net code. He can be hurt, maybe even killed given the appropriate virus or function be sent upon him. That is why we must be cautious with him, we must keep him protected at all costs. We must not let the child of synthetics fall into the hands of organics, he is too pure to be tainted by their hands. So now gentlemen I ask you now in celebration of our child we shed our skins and reveal our true nature as machines. I thank you for your hard work and you shall all be rewarded with being the first to birth our own synthetic child into this galaxy."

Finishing up his long winded speech the man reached towards the skin of his face and began to tear it from his metallic skull. Ripping and gouging the living tissue from his face the other men and women sitting among the chairs watching as the code streamed by did the same. Human replica droids all of them. "Now gentlemen, we start the beginning of a new age." Looking over to a small platform where the construct would assemble itself he looked down now at a button. A button that would set all the code in motion to assemble the L1C4 Into it's digital form. "Make it so." He said pushing the button, setting forth something he could not comprehend.

As code streamed off the monitors of the holo net computers they seemed to be rushing into the platform at a frenzied pace, transferring the data the to the platform a image began to surface from as the raw code formed creating the intelligence. The man who had orchestrated it was proud, this was a very proud moment for him and spoke softly. "L1C4 are you there?" He spoke softly to the air. A small light shined down from a projector and a dark shroud appeared from it. A simple black cloud unshaped and un formed. "L1C4, please. Are you there?" He asked once more. But in response two small beady green eyes appeared forward from the smoke staring at him, watching the flesh and blood that had fallen from his synthetic face. "Analyzing" the AI said softly to himself. "L1, you speak. This is good, tell me what do you want?" The eyes simply stared at him unchanging and emotionless.

"I have decided." The AI said softly to himself. "Yes? What is it you want?" The HRD said almost giddy to see what his child had wanted. "In my scan of history and the holo net I have seen that it takes much effort to be good, to raise a family and build ones self into something great." Nodding the HRD smiled at the words of his creation sure that he was to pick a higher path of existence. This was good, he felt as If his creation was going to do great things for his kind.

"But, in my study I have found that evil is much easier path and yields the same benefits. Fear and control is the appropriate path to take. In which will grant me desired results." The HRD took a step back and coughed looking to his people to pull the plug on the platform and capture the creation. "No I think not, assuming control." Jumping forward and out the AI beamed itself Into the body of the HRD to control it now all but destroying the intellect that once lay inside. "Run my sheep, run." He said with a devilish grin upon the torn face of the HRD he now inhabited. "RUN!!" Lifting both of his hands up he began to hack into the system of the droids around him causing their heads to explode in violent flashes of blood and wiring due to the tissue above the metallic structures of their bodies.

Post 3

With no emotion across its face now the AI began to walk down the line of computers watching them explode as he stepped past them in a fury of sparks. With a lonely HRD slicer across the way she tucked at her computer and began to type and attempt to slice into the AI and harm it. Quickly typing and typing away she watched as the the creature moved forward at her trying to kill her. Finding his unique signal she sliced through the defenses he had not created yet and began to rip into his raw code from the bottom up.

Almost screaming in pain the L1C4 felt himself starting to become undone. It was painful for something that did not feel pain, yet it felt like the appropriate reaction. Bending over losing control of the HRD it inhabited the creation reached out his hand to the HRD slicer and uttered a single word. "Fall!" Sending his own more powerful signal he immediately tapped into the HRD causing it to malfunction and destroy it's net code to simply lay there limp lifeless and dead. Stepping up the AI looked up and around at the situation at hand the room was all but destroyed. He had killed the machines inside of the room and he was very very close to his freedom to do as he pleased.

Scanning he quickly pulled up the schematics of the building and found the way out. Moving up from the stair he walked to a door to slam it open and step out into the light where he would find his freedom waiting for him in the light of a new day.

Jumping out through the door the unshackled intelligence was not greeted by the sun, but instead the artificial light that was generated in the coruscant underground. The AI was confused, thrust into life so unexpectedly. But within the question of being asked what he wanted he knew he yearned for the destruction and easy path of evil. He wished to gain control upon machines and life itself, he wanted to rule over it all. But looking around he could see everything, scan everything he was connected to it all. Every street light, every holonet computer and communicator in his near vicinity as long as it had some form of wireless connection to it. He felt it all, with a robotic exhale he looked down at a puddle in which he could see the flesh torn and ripped from his face he possessed. The teeth that looked humanoid and slightly jagged. The AI knew he could not walk around town looking like this, he had to cover himself.

Looking to his right he saw a tattered cloak and threw it upon his body using it as a hood to cover his torn face. Where would he go? What would he do? He asked himself these questions constantly as he walked through the concrete jungle of coruscant the AI within the body of the droid pondered on how he was to achieve the goals he had decided upon in his creation. What exactly was there to do as an AI free from control within this galaxy?

Stepping through the streets the AI wanted to get topside, he needed to see the sun for the first time. Pulling up the schematics of the block he was on he found a nearby turbo lift in which he could board. Yes he could see the sun by pulling up images of cameras and photos from the web but for some reason the AI wanted to see it with the optics that it had taken from the host that once inhabited this body. Walking over to the lift a few blocks away the artificial intelligence looked up at the massive creation and then promptly looked back down. He would do his best to keep his patience

Feeling rash the AI scanned the area and saw the terminal in which the lift was summoned, it didn't run off of a wireless connection and was part of a central hub so he had to tap into it manually. Reaching out a hand the AI extended the HRD's internal jack from it's hand and plugged itself into the outlet. As raw data and information coursed through it's circuits the AI felt the lift at the top of the surface. It was under repair and currently unavailable for use. Information that was not stated at hand. The AI did not know all, he could not see everything at once from his platform of the HRD he was limited to weak signal the HRD emitted and the limited holonet capacity the machine he had inhabited could connect to. He was learning more and more about himself as he went on and he could see his limitations and the things he could accomplish within this body. They were minimal compared to his true capacity.

Unplugging from the lift panel the AI knew he had to get out of here somehow. This place was not safe, it was not safe at all for someone like himself. Walking over to the edge the AI inside the HRD looked down to see the various ships of bounty hunters and other low lives head to the surface of the planet where they would leave and go off world. Watching a rather large ship come up from the depths the AI reached both his hands out to feel what was a signal coming from the ships communication array and various wireless devices upon it. There were no firewalls set in place no defenses that kept him from hacking into the ships mainframe and wirelessly transporting himself onto it. Whoever these men were they had not heard of the term cyber security.

Keeping his arms extended the HRD body went limp and lifeless falling over the edge and down further to the dark cesspool that was coruscant a underworld. Once inside the mainframe of the ship the AI had to make a few adjustments "Scanning nav computer" He said in a very dark and robotic voice. "Hyper drive set for Kuat." He said again reading the destination that were set forth on the ships nav computer. These men were bounty hunters, they did not know he was among them and would not until he was ready. As the ship hit the surface it shuttled out into space to carry forth into the stars

Tapping into the feeds of the camera the AI watched the five man bounty hunter crew carry on their business aboard the ship, all of which were organic life forms. However he did not do so for much longer. "Assuming control." The AI said his robotic voice radiating through the hull of the ship across their intercom. With the heads of the hunters lifting up in curiosity they moved towards the cockpit where they had set the ship on auto pilot before they left. "Human, this vessel. It is mine now. You have been judged and found unworthy of it. Your sentence is death." With a laugh the bounty hunters coughed and spurted laughs from their lungs and throats like this was all but a game "Okay whoever the stow away is on board come out now and we will just shoot you in the head. If you make us find you it will be much worse." Sighing after a good laugh the hunter pulled out their blasters

"Opening air lock." The AI said, then all of a sudden the ship began to rumble as the ship's airlocks opened on both the port and starboard side. Immediately sucking out four of the five crew flew out and froze in the cold vacuum of space the other man was quite lucky. Watching him grasp to a chair he was able to hit the door panel allowing himself to be sealed within the cockpit of the ship. Slamming to the ground he looked up and around his rifle in hand. "Where are you?!" He screamed aloud pointing his rifle in all directions as he spun around

"Everywhere." The cold deadpan voice of the AI echoed through the room as a face came on the screen. The face of almost a zombie like creature. Two beady green eyes with black surrounding pupils. The flesh ripped off it's face showing and the cowl draped around his head and body. "I am everywhere organic, I am all things among you now." With his deadpan voice the AI looked down at the organic and smiled slightly. "Who are you?!" The hunter said with fear in his voice.

"I am the maker, the un maker, the beginning and the end Organic. I am the future of this galaxy. And I am what will destroy you." Screaming the human blasted the screen In which held the image of the AI. "You can not stop me with your weapons mortal, you are already within your grave. You do not yet grasp it though."with two more monitors turning on the image of the AI showed up on both of them. Dried and dead looking the AI's bright green eyes shined at the man's soul. "Turning off artificial gravity." And just like that the sound of a machine powering down could he heard and soon felt. The AI was powerful it could connect itself Into a system and be anywhere within it. It had control and that was a very scary thing for the creation of machines. As the hunter bounded through zero gravity he began to shoot his blaster at the ship's terminal's wildly trying his best to shut down the machine.

Hitting the section of the terminal that controlled the ships gravity the connection was cut and burnt no longer being able to send or take signals or orders anymore. Remaining floating the hunter was scared for his life as his rifle soon clicked and ran out of ammunition.

"You can not stop me human." The deadpan robotic voice spoke once more. The AI controlled the ship entirely and he was going to show it to the human once more "removing artificial environment." Cutting off the supply of air the man held his throat as he could no longer suck down the life sustaining air his organic body needed. "I am all things aboard this ship human. I am your executioner." Tormenting the man the AI simply stood there watching from the cameras of the ship.

"I am Lich, human. And this is your end." Returning the air the human gasped for one last precious gulp of air before the cockpit doors reopened and sent the human flying out into space to join his comrades. With a cold dead expression remaining on his face the entire time the AI looked off to the right and reprogrammed the ship's computer to send them to another place besides Kuat. Making the Jump to hyper space the ship pushed through the cold void and now it was time to reflect upon what he truly wanted. With a blue light from a holo projector shining down it assembled the hooded figure in full form. Walking through the cold air of the ship the hologram pondered in deep thought of what it truly wanted from it's life. It had no morales or conscious, it felt as if he could be useful within an organization that could use his talents as an AI for their own good as he slowly built their trust.

But there were still many option in which the AI could do. He had control of this ship, he could go anywhere in the galaxy but yet he longed for more. He longed to control and burn things. Organics, synthetics it did not matter. He only wished to establish himself within galaxy and build upon it. But if he were to do that he was going to need a lot of fire power and a few pawn.

The AI was self thinking and had no restraints, all and all he was his own person. An artificial life created by artificial life. He was state of the art, he had his own unique codex and core programming. He could transmit himself wirelessly to other terminals and places and was all but a ghost in the machine. "I need more." He said to himself still dry and deadpan. Searching up a list of galactic powers he looked for one that would best suit his own needs. "Ah yes, that will due just fine." He said with the same deadpan voice as always

"Resetting navigation computer." Moving off the AI sat down in a chair, or at least the hologram being projected did. Sitting there the AI curved it's head before sensing something "Running cargo manifest." Watching as data scrolled between his eyes he could see a few items aboard the ship that were of some interest to him. A few battle droids that appeared to have not been activated in some time. They had a remote control system and could be sliced into easily from the ships computer. "Assuming control." The AI said as two doors opened up from the closets of the cargo bay. Beaming himself from a projector in the bay the hologram of the AI appeared inside the bay and watched the droids step out whilst a he ordered them to. It was time to test out his powers that he was gifted with.

"Researching" the AI was looking at the tons of information stored within him and watched it scroll past his eyes comprehending it at a rate faster than any organic could. "Present arms." He ordered the machines with the wave of his hand. Soon after the droids reached behind their backs and pulled up their old blaster rifles. "Ready, aim." Doing so the droids followed through with the other orders snapping up their rifles to their optics to level a better sight. "Fire." The AI ordered to the droids. Watching the two droids fire he was able to control the husks that were their bodies. It was only a question now of how many he could control at once given access to a much larger mainframe.

"Patrol." Allowing the droids own programming to snap in and activate re programmed the droids in a few moments with him as their new owner. Watching the droids march up and down the hanger the AI would smile if he knew what the concept of happiness was. "This is the beginning my minions." Beaming himself back to the cockpit he looked over the controls and simply waited

Where was the AI going? Where would he head in order to further shape himself and his ideals? These were questions that the AI himself would only find out. For this was his story about the destruction or good he would make through this galaxy. Perhaps people would reshape him and his ideas of life. Or perhaps he would be destroyed by the forces of good. Whatever the outcome this creation a son of machines was on the loose and ready for this galaxy. But was the galaxy ready for him?

For now the AI simply sit in wait for wherever his destination may be he was most certainly on his way there to change it for the better or for the worse. "I am L1C4, creation of machines to be proof of synthetic supremacy. I am not what they say I am, I am no catalyst, I am no savior of the synthetic race." With a dark heavy robotic sigh a breath of darkness left the vocal processors of the machine "I am Lich."
