Description:

The M7 is a custom-designed Disruptor Carbine created by once OPSAAT R&D Specialist and Republic Navy Captain, Karen Roberts. The weapon is designed to magnify all known traits of current disruptor technology to maximize battlefield potency, durability, and performance.

The weapon's offensive anti-material beam, (or bolt in this case), is created by snap-release capacitor and directed through a magnetic lensing system, or mirror barrel. This creates a zero recoil solution while compensating for light-based projectile accuracy. It is an extremely accurate weapon, cannot jam, can fire while submerged, and is sized for CQC urban combat; all the while still maintain a rifle's clean accuracy, (and anti-material potency), over great distances.

Weapon damage of modern Disruptors is slightly different than older versions throughout history. A single anti-material beam can vary wildly in power and potential largely based upon the type and phase of matter it must travel through to reach it's intended target. A single bolt can retain more activated energy with which to cause damage if it fires through the near vacuum of space. Likewise, a single bolt retains less energy if it fired underwater. However. Holding the trigger down and charging the capacitor for six seconds, the energy now released can allow the beam to reach to it's full damage potential regardless of current conditions. (Though this does not increase it's effective range and can damage the firearms capacitor to a degree.) Charged, the weapon can now reach it's true potential and turn most targets into dust.

This weapon can be blocked by a lightsaber but not deflected. The beam can technically exist but loses all potency beyond it's effective range.

Wear and tear. The down-sides are that you are creating a directed thermal eruption which creates sound and generous amounts of heat. As such, this weapon cannot be silenced, cannot fire a sustained beam due to heat warping the lense material, can theoretically cause eye damage from viewership, and has been speculated to only be able to fire a maximum 2000 times before the mirror barrel lensing system must be replaced. And those ain't exactly cheap. This is not a 10+ year service rifle.

The gun was designed with an integrated helm-linked laser sight under the barrel for use with a wireless HUD. This cannot be removed as it is a part of the design spec. The top of the weapon also features a very generic rail mount system that is capable of mounting any number of modular attachments. Such as scopes, sights, lasers, flashlights, etc.

Ammo and replacement parts must be custom made using the design spec. AKA, expensive personal orders. The weapon itself is expected to cost near 10,000 c with custom ammo and parts at another 5,000 c. That is before taxes.

[member="Karen Roberts"] - One minor caveat. Not all disruptor shots disintegrate; most disruptors have to charge up for a couple of seconds before they can fire a disintegration-strength pulse. That's the interpretation of disruptor tech that we normally go with in the Factory, because instakill guns breed godmodey dodging and bad blood.

As long as it can punch a hole into all these Phrik fan-boys I keep seeing around. That's fine.

I've added an entire paragraph describing a wide range of damage potentials for the weapon. Including a charged capacitor phase which requires six seconds to achieve a beam at maximum potential. (A full round in D&D, wat? jk. <3) Keeping the damage range transient will help other player leverage their posts better while still allowing the beam to pose a massive threat to even exotic armor solutions.
