OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a heavy ion bomb for the closed market and future submissions.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Heavy Ion Bomb
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Explosive Type: Ionized Particle Dispersement
  • Delivery Method: Launched
  • Effective Range: Personal
  • Area Of Effect: Battlefield
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The M32 Royal is able to intimately interface with a launcher and ship's tracking systems to accurately release the ion bomb.
  • The M32 Royal features precise built-in thrusters that can adjust the flight of the bomb accordingly.
  • Environmental sensors in the M32 Royal help adjust tracking depending on atmospheric conditions.
  • The Ionized Particles of the M32 Royal do considerable damage against mechanical and electrical systems, with the potential to overload and disable them. The particles also have the potential to do a great deal of damage against most shield systems.
STRENGTHS
  • Shipbuster: The M32 Royal is an extremely powerful ordnance, able to do extreme amounts of damage to vehicles, ships, shield systems, and other electronic systems. A wide blast radius and extreme stopping power only serve to further the M32's destructive capabilities.
WEAKNESSES
  • Organics: The M32 Royal is designed to be effective against shield systems, ships, vehicles, and other electronic components. This means that the ion bomb does little direct damage to organics, although organics may be injured or killed as a result of crippled systems.
  • Poor Against Starfighters: The M32 Royal is an ion bomb, and with low maneuverability and lack of sufficient thrusters to propel it at consistently high speeds, it lacks the necessary components to effectively work as an anti-starfighter weapon.
DESCRIPTION
Roble Manufacturing's second iteration of heavy ordnance, the M32 Royal Heavy Ion Bomb is designed to be a vehicle killer; the ionized particles released on impact to a great deal of damage to vehicles, ships, shield systems, and other electronic components. While the M32 does not directly do a great deal of harm towards organics, the fallout of its effects certainly can; and in cases where that doesn't happen, bombers can simply do follow-up run on the weakened opponent with a more explosive type of bomb. Being a heavy ordnance, the M32 Royal is not suitable for fighter-to-fighter combat and requires ships with serious muscle to be able to deliver the payload. However, despite those limitations, the M32 Royal is an extremely powerful and deadly ordnance that will most definitely be vital to any self-respecting bomber fleet.

Heya, some nice blast-y bits you got here.

In your Special Features section, you have mentions of Proton Torpedoes under the first two bullet points, which struck me as a bit odd for a bomb. Is that a grammatical error or do these carry proton torpedoes hidden away somewhere?

With an Area of Effect of Battlefield, I don't think these would be particularly bad against starfighters. While I see the point of not being suited for dogfighting, this bomb seems like it'd take out a whole swarm of starfighters caught in its blast radius. Could you elaborate on this weakness?

Thanks for the catch in Special Features, this came from a long day of bomb-making so my mind goofed.

As for the blast radius and weakness to starfighters, the actual weakness to starfighters works in the sense that the bomb isn't able to maneuver or provide enough thrust to be able to catch up or lock onto a small, fast-moving target like a starfighter. I reworded the weakness to clear that up.
