DESCRIPTION

While it’s all well and fun to rush enemies with hordes of infantry and varying types of walkers, sometimes it’s more prudent to hang back; to whittle them down from a distance. To this end, artillery is often the best choice. The M3 Artillery Droid is the latest addition to the Mehrunes-Series, able to rip apart buildings and enemies from incredible distances.

The M3 only has three armaments. The first is the Heavy Energy Projectile Cannon. While this probably sounds fancy, in reality it really is nothing new. A similar weapon was used on the antiquated Heavy Artillery Gun used in eons past. Fortunately, technology has improved since then. The cannon used by the M3 is far stronger and more accurate than similar cannons. Albeit it has a longer charging time, thus making sustained bombardment a bit difficult.

Alternatively, the M3 can also be equipped with a Defoliator Cannon. That particular weapon is able to launch specialized warheads that, when detonated, only damage organic soldiers. Perfect for generals who wanted to lock down enemy infantry with their own droid troops and then shell them.

Although definitely not suited for combating anything directly in front of it, the M3 is in possession of two anti-personnel blasters. This is mostly to deter any strike teams of saboteurs or ballsy cavalry charges committed by clone troopers on speeder bikes. Outside of this, it is incredibly vulnerable to enemy heavy weapons fire and should be kept under escort.

In terms of non-combative attachments, the M3 holds the Hegemonic Automaton standards. Scanners and Sensorscopes allow it to detect a multitude of things so it isn’t caught off guard. A gyroscopic stabilizer makes the joints of the droid stronger than usual, and an Ionization Buffer protects it from Ion blasts and EMPs.

M3s generally tend to have simple jobs. Namely “shoot at this location.” As such, they very rarely develop any sapience of their own. No tests have been conducted as to what M3s typically end up like when left without memory wipes for prolonged periods of time. This is not to say you shouldn’t bother wiping the droid’s memory after every engagement. An M3 with sapience could potentially be very dangerous.

Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of M3 Artillery Walkers that achieve sapience.
