STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+Polymorphic: Unlike other polymorphs who have specific physical limits to their metamorphosis, the Gurlanin are able to perfectly mimic a majority of most species (even humanoid). Lydeck is able to transform into a oil like goo or take the shape of any being he sets eyes on. This transformation isn't just limited to physical change but also more subtle details such as dialect, accents and even scents.
.Liquid Form: Lydeck is able to deconstruct its physical form to resemble a puddle of dark oil. Whilst in this form he is able to access tight spots with ease however his movement speed is severely limited and he is incapable of "splitting" up. Despite the versatility of this form he is still vulnerable to attacks and damage and once he has been hit he reverts to either his original or transformed stature.
.Humanoid Forms: The Gurlanin typically reverts to a default form whilst interacting with other sentient beings. Although the dimensions of his humanoid form closely resemble his own, he isn't limited by his own weight or height and is capable of morphing into creatures as large as a Wookie or as tiny as an Ewok. His polymorphic abilities do have their limitations though and he is unable to mimic giant creatures that far exceed him.

+Invisible: Because of his Polymorphic properties, and the inconsistencies of a Gurlanins body, Lydeck is hidden from most forms of detection such as Thermal, X ray and even detection through the Force. Despite the ease in which he hides from conventional devices he is not completely invisible to those who seek him through the Force. Although they will be unable to detect a physical body or signature, they will be able to detect his innate ability of Telepathy (or his complete absence in the Force) though it is common for him to be mistaken as a Force Sensitive being. Lydeck is only detected when he wants to be.
+Observer: As a master of disguise Lydeck is a natural observer and saboteur. He is capable of shifting his shape and form with ease which allows him to avoid detection or pursuit.
+Telepathic: An ability which has naturally manifested within the Gurlanin race and limited to their species. Lydeck is capable of communicating to other members of his race over vast distances within the same Planetary System. Its this natural ability which confuses those who seek him through the force as a sensitive individual.
+Eco location: A Gurlanin may “see” without light by means of echolocation. A Gurlanin emits sonic waves from his snout, and hears their echo with its auditory organs, also located in the snout. This ability operates out to a range of roughly 18 meters, cannot distinguish color or visual contrast or discern written letters unless they letters are raised, neon (or some other similar effect) or otherwise textured, and provides immunity to blinding effects (but, since it relies on sound waves, deafening effects thwart it). A Gurlanin’s echolocation works underwater, but not in a vacuum.
-Self Preservation: A skill that serves him well as an individual, but not very well suited when in situations requiring team work. Because of his innate need for self preservation Lydeck has tenancies to leave his comrades and save his own hide when things start to turn thick. Consequently this leaves the Gurlanin short of allies and friends.
-Cold: A trait connected to his natural need for self preservation. Lydeck rarely cares for other species and treats them as nothing more than a means to an end. He is often disconnected and harsh to those around him leaving him with a somewhat negative reputation among peers. There are few exceptions to his cold demeanor. This includes members of his own race and individuals that he truly respects or fears.
-Limited Combat Training: Despite his ability to transform into any sentient being in the Galaxy Lydeck has limited combat experience as he relies on stealth and deception. This does not mean that he is incapable of defending himself should the time arise, but his arsenal and skill is limited. Should he stand toe to toe against a combat veteran he would surely fall within moments.

Lydeck looks like a jet black canine quadruped covered in a thick coat of oily fur. His eyes, like all of his elk and kin, shine as bright as an orange sun which are more pronounced against his dark complexion. Sharp teeth run along the length of his snout with four fangs which are double tipped protrude from his upper jaw over his lower lip. Because of his young age (Gurlanins are known to live up to 700 years) he is still considered in his infancy and is somewhat smaller than the rest of his kin.

In this form Lydeck looks like an average late Thyrsian teen. His features are sharp, bold and defined as seen by his protruding jaw line and hard chin. His rendition of the original blueprint deviates in only a single way. Instead of possessing dark brown eyes like the original print, Lydeck has instead opted to keep the orange shine of his species.

Lydeck is able to transform into various other sentient species depending on the task at hand. He can mimic anyone physically with little fault, but he must observe his stolen identity in order to grasp their more subtle identifications such as habits, accents and nuances.
