TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
(Detail briefly in a list format actual contents of the known abilities, special features, qualities of note. [Links: Vehicle Sensors, Approved Technology] If these are notable enough to be strengths, please add them to strengths. )
Strengths:
  • Multi-Environment: Similar in design concept to the Multi-Environment Space Boat, the Faa can either fly in the sky like an airspeeder or dive up to five kilometers underwater like a submersible.
  • Agile: In air or sea, the Faa is a fairly agile craft, making it ideal for dogfighting other crafts or avoiding enemy attacks.
Weaknesses:
  • Weak Armament: The Faa is relatively lightly armed, especially compared to most starfighters which are often used in an air superiority role.
  • Weak Defenses: The Faa's passive defenses are fairly weak. While the Faa has a decent hull, it has only the lightest ray and particle shielding designed to enable flight in the upper rather than withstand concentrated weapons fire.
DESCRIPTION
The Faa is a multi-environment craft designed to bridge the gap between air and sea combat on water worlds like Kamino or Dac. Much of its initial design was based on the Multi-Environment Space Boat, but the Faa evolved completely away from spaceflight in order to better improve its atmospheric performance and combat abilities. As an aerial fighter, the Faa is competitive against many fighter craft in terms of flight performance, though most users often find its weapons somewhat lighter than contemporary starfighters. As a submersible fighter, the Faa is somewhat more impressive. Both laser cannons have been modified to be effective work underwater, though their range remains more limited underwater like many conventional energy weapons. While the general purpose warhead launchers are typically used to carry traditional ordinance like concussion missiles, they can also carry proton hydrotorpedoes in place of typical proton torpedoes. Consequently, it's not uncommon for one general purpose launcher to carry air to air ordinance in the form of concussion missiles while the other launcher carries proton hydrotorpedoes for use against waterborne targets. Most Faas are assigned defensively to water worlds and underwater facilities such as Lucerne Lab's shipyards on Hast. However, a small number serve with the Silver Jedi's army forces to establish aquatic superiority for amphibious operations.
