Tython was an absolutely stunning planet. Crawford never expected to be in a place like this. He had wallowed in dark and urban alleys all of his life. He grew up in them. He wasn't here for bushiness either. You know, now that he thought about it, Crawford had always kind of been a drifter. He didn't mind drifting though. He had never really had anything important to hold on too. He always felt empty, maybe even a bit lonely. His father was completely absent from his life. When he was 16, mother died and he started living with friends. His life sunk into substance abuse and depression, where he's kept it for a while. He hasn't been happy in years. He finds it ironic that he's sad on such an amazing and beautiful planet. Strolling the streets of Tython, Crawford eventually enters a club. He pulls out a deathstick and lights it. He smokes it and orders some Correlian liquor. "Time for a wild night." he told the barkeep.

He spotted a girl sitting alone in a booth. She looked suspicious. He always had a knack for reading people, and he felt that she had a reason to be here. She was also armed. It was never good to be drunk around people with weapons. "Eh". He decided to not make a big deal about it. Especially because he was carrying his E-11 carbine in a holster on his left leg. He asked the barkeep for two glasses and a pitcher of ale. He grabbed his purchases and headed for the seat next to the woman. He sat and she looked a tad bit confused. "You look lonely. My name's Crawford." He pours her a drink. "What's yours?"

Karren eyed him over, and took another swig of her Ale. Clad in her orange rebel flightsuit, strapped with her modded DL-44, .45 Pistol, Shotgun across her back and light saber neatly tucked in a holster at the rear of her belt, she appeared a menacing figure.
Explains why folks don't come around this corner of the bar. Who the hell is this guy?

"Not so lonely. Judging from the disheveled look of yours I'd have to guess Pirate or Smuggler?" She replied, teasing then questioning. Her hands remained firmly affixed to the glass. In an earlier life she might have used a Jedi mind trick to persuade him to give up intel, or maybe just to root about and see if there was a conspiracy afoot. This far into her life though?

Nah. Everyones gotta make a living.
Even me.

"So then dashing rogue spacer man. What brings you Tython, heart of the NJO?"

She could feel a rift in the force. Whether her own struggle with the dark forces in her heart, or inordinate sadness rolling in waves from the man, she could not yet decipher....

Crawford had always looked quite sketchy, and he knew it. He was rugged looking, and he liked the way he looked. It showed people that he wasn't one to mess with. Usually, people wouldn't mess with him, at least. Authorities usually attempted to detain him just because of how he looked, and he sometimes served jail time for possession, although he learned how to conceal his deathsticks and narcotics well. That's where he learned how to fight, although he still wasn't much good at it. People usually strayed away from him unless they were fellow junkies. That didn't mean he wouldn't try and interact with others though.

"Pirate? No, not even close. I do have connections, if you need them though. I'm more of a.... I'd say traveler myself. Oh, dashing? You think so? Regardless, I'm here plainly for leisure. Anyways, why is a nice lady like you..." He saw that she was carrying many weapons. "... so armed in such a placid place?"

After asking all of this, he could feel a slight disturbance. He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew he had felt stuff like this before.

She squinted, breathing in a small but subtle rhythm to get a better feel for him in the force. There was no deception upon his mind. None that she could tell anyhow.

"I'm on leave from the war. Looking to find a suitable way to spend it. As for the weapons....."

She trailed off.
What do I tell him? That I'm paranoid a First Order spy will bust up in here and try to assassinate me? That the Sith are always hungry for Jedi blood?

"They go everywhere with me. Never know when chit will hit the fan. Tell me a bit about you then. My names Karren Trask. And you are?"

"The name's Crawford. I never met my father, so I have no idea what my last name might be. I specialize in, well as you said earlier, smuggling. Not that of substances though. I can get you anywhere in the galaxy. Usually. I have had some clients die. I'm also an informant. I'm in deep with a lot of criminals. In fact, I am one myself. Not for anything particularly bad though. Mostly...." No, of course he wasn't going to tell her about his narcotics addiction. "... petty crimes.

Crawford finished talking and downed some ale.

"So who do you fight for?" He asked comfortably. After saying this he realized he might be asking something a bit personal, depending on who she fought for.

Who do I fight for?

"Alliance mostly. Used to be the Silvers, and then the Rebellion, back when it was under the radar."

She nodded taking it all in. He was a smuggler then? That was good as she had some of her own research that needed to be done. But for that to happen she needed to get to some places undetected. Jedha was her first stop.

"I need to get to Jedha. I'd fly myself but there is something there that I must find. And it must be strictly off the books. After that if you're good I can commission you again. Now tell me, as a criminal is your word your bond?"

"If I say so myself it is. I find myself quite good at my job, and I'd say at least 96% of my customers do. I can definitely get you to Jedha, and definetly without anyone noticing. How much are you willing to pay?"

Crawford quite liked Karren. She seemed like an alright person who wasn't going to do anything wrong.

"I'll tell you what, If you let me stick around awhile I'll do if for free. After all, I am quite useful."

She raised an eyebrow at the last part. Now she was getting somewhere. Before they left she had few more questions. She shifted in her seat to square her shoulders with his but slightly off to the left.

"I like that idea. I'm game."

Then she ordered a little cap on her drink and took another swig, polishing it off. She'd once used the force to neutralize the effects and lure folks into conversation when she was young Sentinel. Now she didn't much care. It took her mind off the hundreds of souls she'd merged with the force at the business end of her StealthX Fighter.

"Tell me about your usefulness then?"

Now she applied a little honey to the words, coaxing his mind with a gentle push from the beyond. Would it catch or not? She'd find out if he started spilling his beans more than she could sense he wanted to.

Crawford was pleased that he had made an ally. He didn't have many, especially not pretty ladies with shotguns.

"Well, I, for one, have your back in a fight. Plus, I'm good with words and can get us anywhere cheap, fast and undetected."
