14 days after the destruction of the facility on echol'ya

Cold, silent, alone. To some sense it was a familiar feeling, but this was different. The food rations where on the other side of the vessle and almost ran out of water. Only two systems now where active and hopefully would last long enough for who ever to find her or a corpse to return to her wife for burriel. The jump from echol'ya had left the ship crippled. Sanya couldn't face to leave the cockpit again. The sight of the body held in place by a belt wrapped around the mans wrist to the railing made her feel sick. Sure she'd seen death and worse things. But when it was silent and it was a soul you tried to save. Well to put it simple the sight is horrifying.

In some degree she was in the loop of thinking about revenge. They weren't mandolorians she faced but snivelling cowards worthy of titles like dar'manda. People who where no better than Sith or the vong. People this galaxy would do better without. How many more lives will be wrecked by these cowards, how many more lives have to suffer the tyranny of these monsters. Sure she'd been accused of many crimes, the vast majority of them faulse. But the crimes they committed where in open light for everyone to see the darkness they where bringing.

Her mind began to wander more listening to the ping ofbthe beacon going off every few seconds. Bleep... bleep... bleep. The noise became easy to ignore as if it didn't exist but just listening to it reassured she was still alive. Still it helped her sleep just to pass the time.

Day fifteen

as Sanya woke her stomach began to hurt more and more. She has also just drank the last of the water she'd been sipping the past few days. Would it be easier to turn off the life support? Just to sit there and fall into an endless sleep. Would the sleep be a peaceful one? Or one of nightmares. It scared her she was contemplating the idea. "Snap out of it." She said in a broken quiet voice. "Just keep going. Camellia needs me." It felt wierd speaking to herself after all this time.

But it was enough motivation to struggle to her feet. Her hand would reach to the terminal flicking off the artificial gravity. Some rooms where still intact and made use of it. But now it was useless and in her weakens state allow her to move more freely around the ship to gather supplies...

Thes MC80d Solidarity-class Star Cruiser exited hyperspace on the border of the Calamari sector. Space out here was barren and empty for fifteen light years in all directions. How someone had gotten out here was a mystery Reshmar had to answer. That the deep space listening post had picked up the distress beacon had been a miracle. If not for the technicians running redundant testing on their long range scanners whoever was out here would have never been found. He hopes whoever had been stranded out in the darkness between the calamari sector and the tangle arm knew just how lucky they had truly gotten.

"Sir we have triangulated the beacon, small craft bearing one seven four by thirty five. Scanners show one life form still aboard but it is faint." said the sensor operation officer as he looked over the shoulders of his technicians at the data on the consoles screen. Reshmar nodded tot he man then watched as an image of the small craft was magnified on the large main screen. The ship looked intact for the most part. Reshmar paused a moment then looked to his right at the tactical officer.

"Lieutenant, scan the surrounding area, let's make sure were alone here. Even if this was a trap I doubt they would move on us but let's make sure no on out there thinks they can take on a frigate." Reshmar knew it would be rare for even pirates to be out this far towards the edge of the galaxy. He just did not want to be caught off guard in case he was wrong. He looked at the small craft one more time then motioned for the captain of the Sabertooth. "Captain, open a channel, Let's see if our stranded friend out there will talk."

The calamari captain nodded when the channel was opened. Reshmar returned the nod then looked at the data scrolling down the large forward screen.

"Small craft designation tango alpha one one one, I am Admiral Tian Reshmar of The Directorate. Please state the nature of your emergency" Said Reshmar as he eyed the small vessel in the distance.

As the gravity shut off her body would begin to float along with the bits of dust in the cockpit. Her movements had became slow and sluggish reaching to her side Sanya would grab hold of the oxygen mask that had gotten above her head. Bringing it to her face and fastening it tight she'd be able to hear her breaths more as the air fed through. Sliding herself to the door Sanya would press the button to open it while shutting her eyes shut. 'Just don't look.' She thought to herself. With another push slowly she'd float down the hallway giving a moment before looking once more.

The supply room was just at the end on the right. Its door was broken but slightly open. Her hands would slide into the gap to try pry it open enough to get a small crate through along with her. With it opened up more she pulled herself in. Everything inside was also floating in a mess of food, medical supplies and water. Stuff that wasn't needed she'd bat out the way with her hand and the bits of food and water left went into small box. Before leaving the room Sanya looked at the gauge on the cillinder of air. It was almost in the red now meaning this was her last trip to this room. Wait for the cockpit to pressureize would take the last bit.

With a firm grip on the box Sanya would aim her body through the gap and pushed herself immediately left. Once more her eyes would shut for a moment till she felt like the body had passed. Although she felt the thud of the wall this time till her eyes opened up. As the door opened up once more she'd swing herself inside waiting for the door to clasp shut. It took a small while for everything to pressureize. A small green light would flash to say it was safe. With that in mind Sanya took off the mask and sighed. The first thing she did was get water and put the bottle to her dry lips. It felt good to even have a small sip and now had food to last a while depending it was rationed.

It wasn't much longer till static came through on the com's. She couldn't make out the message more who it was. Maybe the cowards had found her or someone else. If she was getting static it was unlikely she'd be able to relay a message to them. Instead she pressed the com's button to send Morse code. "One two three. One.. two.. three.." she repeated over and over so she'd not lose track.

Reshmar listened for a moment to the silence on the com channel. Then a burst of static came through the channel then silence again. Reshmar looked out the image on the forward screen not filling it. The small ship was damaged and listing badly. He looked over the craft them turned to Captain Liat.

"Captain, lock onto the ship with a tractor beam and bring it into the ventral hanger." said Reshmar as he reached to cut off the channel. Just as his finger reached the button the static returned, this time with a distinct pattern to it. He paused hovering his finger over the button them pulled his hand back.

"Captain get the ship into the hanger and send a security detail to find out who is aboard her. If they have ill intentions I want them detained. Also, send a medical team in case they are hurt nd need assistance." Said Reshmar to LIat. The Calamari captain nodded and replied "Even if they are hostile Admiral?" Asked Liat. Reshmar nodded and spoke "Yes captain even if they are hostile, let's see to them after they are detained. I want them alive to issue a no kill order." replyed Reshmar. The captain nodded then walked away to the security station and passed on the order.

Reshmar once again looked at the screen and the small vessel now slowly moving towards the hanger. He hoped whoever was aboard her was not hostile. He had no desire to do the paperwork involved with taking on a hostile force. Bureaucracy was the real enemy.

Her eyes would peer out the window looking at the ship of a Mon calamari make. Slowly it would get closer or she got closer. Without a fixed point or systems she couldn't tell. Instead she remained to press the com button in morescode to say SOS. It was all she could do. As the transport got pulled into the hanger Sanya had forgot her ship was not using gravity, so it came as a sort of shock when her body came crashing down onto the dashboard and quickly onto the floor. Her arms would cradle her ribs. Her fingers would feel how much they stuck out now. Not been able to eat right had caused her body to eat it's self to make up for what she'd not been having. Somewhere in the back if her mind though she was glad she didn't give up. Someone actually came even though she was in the middle of nowhere. Still she was in to much pain and lacking in energy to feel to pleased.

Reshmar walked down the long corridor from the service lift to the hanger aboard the cruiser. The Solidarity-class cruiser was designed to stand alone and survive larger more powerful ships and small groups utilizing its advanced construction and heavy defensive redundancies. The large hanger positions on its flank, held thirty-six attack craft while a ventral hanger positioned on the adjacent flank had enough room for a small assault force of shuttles, dropships, and 3 freighters. Now as he neared he saw the small craft once listing in space now sitting in the center of the hangers deck. He walked out into the open expanse of the hanger and up to the edge of a shield barrier which had been put up around the craft just in case it was filled with hostile droids or anything else nasty that might want him dead. He had a bounty on his head now and his security was tight. They insisted on the barrier just in case.

"So just the one life form?" Reshmar asked the officer standing beside him. The man nodded "Yes sir, just the one. My men are in position now and were going to open her up." Six men standing inside the shield bubble lit up a plasma torch and began cutting through the hatch of the craft. Flames were extinguished as the rush of air into the near airless craft gushed by them. The torch went dark and the men stepped back to let the hatch fall to the hanger floor. Immediately the four men who had been waiting entered the vessel and disappeared from Reshmars vision for a moment. Then a man stepped out and nodded at the security officer standing beside Reshmar. The security commander nodded back and dropped the shield bubble. Two men came through the doorway carrying a woman who looked dead. He body was frail and injured. A group of medics ran over and took the woman from the soldiers. They placed her on a gurney and rushed her away out of the hanger to ao secured medical ward they had set up to contain the woman in case she was a threat.

"Major, PLease inform m when she wakes. I have some questions for her." said Reshmar to the security officer. He waited for the man to nod and he left the hanger back to his quarters. They had a ways to go to get back to Mon Cala and he wanted the ship underway. Reshmar reached his quarters and opened a channel to the bridge.

"Captain, set a course for home"

A sense of safety washed over Sanya as she laied there on the floor of the cockpit in severe pain in her ribs. She could just see the top of the window from her position on the floor that she was inside. But the toll of the past few weeks had caught up with her. She'd been stuck out there struggling to sleep long periods of time. Now though she could fall asleep knowing after her eyes would open... maybe. Slowly each blink would make her eye lids feel heavier to the point she couldn't keep them open. Her arms was still wrapped around her chest and the black tail would be tight around her thigh.

Even though she'd not have the energy to remain awake, Sanya could feel herself been picked up and carried to a bed of some kind. A stretcher possibly. Each breath was wheezy, shallow and forced. The air felt fresh unlike the stale air she'd been breathing in. It was some time before she woke up and her ribs didn't hurt so much now. No one was around just yet so she laied there waiting for someone to talk to. A nurse would soon walk in looking at Sanya. "How are you feeling?" The woman asked. Sanya would look at her. "I still hurt in places. Where am I?" She'd ask. "I'm not the best to answer that, I'll go get someone for you."

Reshmar walked into the room behind the nurse. He had been monitoring the womans condition since bringing her on board and was told when she has awakened. He had questions for the woman and more importantly wanted to gauge her to see if she was a threat. Two guards saluted as he walked in then went back to standing motionless against the wall. The woman sat up on the bed and looked at him inquisitively, he recognized her from various news feeds and Republic reports he had read. He knew who she was but had no idea why she was out here in the middle of nowhere.

"Master Val Swift It is good to see you up and responsive. It was touch and go for a while. Can I have my people get you anything, a drink, some food possibly?" Reshmar asked as he walked up next tot he womans bed.

She could feel her head pounding like she'd been wacked with club and her ribs still hurt but not as much. Since the nurse had left, Sanya watched people walk by wondering who'd be in next. The room was rather quiet and yet she'd lacked the energy to even think properly. The past few weeks of silence was torture and we'll se missed faces. She missed her wife. She missed her people and her padawan. In a way it made her remember a lot of her past. Mainly the time around when she felt rejected by the Jedi. The never ending solo scout missions made her feel alone. With no one around how else was she ment to feel. But that was a long time ago.

It wasn't long til a calamari walked into the room. One she knew of quite well. Although she'd never met in person. "Please just call me Sanya I've never been a fan of formalities and titles. Also yes, water and anything food wise. I don't care what it is and some painkillers if there are any." She said in reply to the question. "Also I'd like thank you and your crew for saving me. Just wish the others survived." Her voice dropped from sorrow. Either way her employees life's where met to end that day and nothing she could have done would have changed it.

Reshmar nodded to a woman standing against the wall and them watched her leave to go for food. He turned back to Sanya and then looked past her at the med scanner on the wall.
"Nurse see she gets some pain medication." Said Reshmar to the nurse standing across the bed from him. The woman nodded and took out an injection and pressed it against Sanya's arm injecting some sort of pain medication. Reshmar waited until the nurse finished then spoke to Sanya again.

"May I ask why you were out here so far from the galaxy proper. There is nothing here for twenty parsecs in any direction." Said Reshmar curious as to why someone would intentionally venture out so far away from civilization on the edge of the galaxy.

For a moment Sanya put one of her hands on the back of her head and scrunched up her face from the pain of the headache. Her other arm was been injected with pain killer's. She knew they would take immediate effect but she had no control over that. She began to listen to reshmar ask his question and it was a straight forward one. "I had a facility built on echyo'la before the new group of mandos moved in. When they found they somehow found it they came at me with a fleet. No matter how much I tried to negotiate they where hell bent on killing innocent lives. So I did what I had to do to try save as many as I could. The escape didn't go as planned." She said in a little remorse. "They had a grav well so I was forced to take the safeties off and hope for the best. The ship shredded apart in the jump and I was left stranded. Everyone aboard died or got sucked out. I failed them." She knew full well she couldn't save everyone but it still hurt when people die from failure.

She would give a low sigh into a yawn. "Do you still have the ship you found me in?" She asked. Sanya wasn't in a position to work on the device alone anymore. In strange fortune she was lucky it was reshmar that found her. "I ask because of a piece of tech I had in it. Do you know of a ship named the hyperspace marauder?" She asked him.

Reshmar nodded at the mention of the ancient vessel. It had been lost centuries ago and never found. He himself had been sent looking for it once by the Republic. He did not find the ship but did find another prize worth much more to him than the old ship would have been. He knew of the ship and what it was and had a good idea what the woman was referring to when she said she had tech on board the craft. The ship was banged up badly and had been damaged more in the rescue when the hull had to be breached and cut open to get inside the ship.

"Yes, I am" Reshmar said. "And yes, what is left of your ship was brought on board. Once you are stabilized I will have someone escort you down to the hanger." he said smiling at the woman.

Reshmar returned to the bridge of the newly commissioned Solidarity-class star cruiser while their guest recovered. It was a miracle they had ever found the small ship out this close to the edge of the galaxy. Reshmar had been using the area for decades as a trial area for new ships. Secluded and safe out on the edge of nothingness. Now here at the end of space, his routine habit of using the barren place had save a life. Now as the first cruise of Solidarity was ending it would already have a rescue mission in the logs to start her long career.

"Admiral on the bridge" said an officer when Reshmar entered the small command deck. Like its predecessors, the Solidarity had a standard Mon Cala command pod which rose above the hull. The pod acted as a secondary vessel in it could separate from the ship in the case of the vessel being damaged to the point of evacuation. "Carry on," Reshmar said as he walked across the bridge and sat in the command chair. "Captain, are we ready?" Reshmar asked the commander of the Solidarity. The Mon Cala male nodded his head and replied "Yes sir, the board is green admiral, we are ready to jump." Reshmar entered in a set of codes into his chair and looked out into the void that was the nothingness past the edge of the galaxy. "Officer of the jump, you have the ship" said Reshmar as he turned command over to the jump officer. A Mon Cala female took control of the vessel and prepared it to jump to hyperspace. "Aye sir" she said as the entered in the coordinates for Mon Cala. The Solidarity was going home after a very successful first cruiser and an unexcepted rescue mission. It had been a good day and a good two weeks for the new ship now she would be fully commissioned into the Mon Cala Defense Fleet. As for their guest, Reshmar would meet with her again after she had time to rest and recover on the way to Mon Cala. The ship shuttered as the main engines came offline and the hyperdrive motivators engaged. The massive ship disappeared in a flash as it jumped the first leg of its trip back home.
