A faint light shone across the infinite twilight of Obulette's wilderness, which then began to fade back into a green flicker. Force Light, if only for a brief moment, cleansing something that had been left forgotten by the galaxy.

Phobos stood in the darkness, a dagger in her hand. It was simple, really. A crude attempt at a dark artifact likely made by a Sith initiate or some hopeful darksider looking to make a name for themselves. Who it was hardly mattered. It had no doubt been ages ago now, and the dagger had been left to infect the living around it. The Ashspawn had found a few small critters infected by it's malicious intentions and had resolved to come and remove it. It had been surprisingly straight forward.

"Why is it that this was left here?"

This sector is one where the darkness hid itself in plain view in an age long passed, a voice spoke into her mind. Balance cannot be achieved while one hides behind shadows. You would be best to not walk their path.

Phobos let out a sigh. The Bendu had actually responded to her this time. It had been a few months now since he had spoken to her. Yet it seemed to chastise her cowardice. It was true that the Ashspawn was hiding, out of fear no less. She was afraid that others would not understand what she was and fear her. Her encounter with Felix Astermo Felix Astermo had already confirmed this suspicion.

So how as a luminous being could she reveal herself to others and not hide behind shadows?

"...Um. How... long ago was that?"

No response. The Bendu was quiet again. Maybe it was just hard to speak telepathically like that across the distance of the galaxy. Maybe they believed she was better off learning for herself. Whatever the case was, Phobos was left in the dark on the true nature of the monk.

With a sigh, the young woman used the Force to gently open up the earth. She placed the cleansed dagger into the soil of Obulette and began to bury it.

Alana moved carefully through Obulette's wilderness, eyes scanning the faint glimmers in the underbrush. Her fingers brushed along jagged stones and roots, tracing the subtle hum in the air. Her force senses were alerting her to the possibility that a crystal might be near. She wasn't exactly sure what she expected to find, but something in this sector had been whispering to her instincts ever since she arrived.

The brief flash of Force Light caught her attention. She froze mid-step, red eyes narrowing, catching the faint glow dancing across the uneven ground. Somewhere ahead, she could feel some sort of disturbance underway, and another person not far away in the darkness. She closed her eyes, focusing on her senses instead; letting the information relay to her.

Alana's lips twisted into a faint, almost humorless grin. "Figures the galaxy leaves the weird stuff for me to stumble into," She muttered under her breath, stepping closer but keeping her distance. Her vibro sword hung at her side, unused; her real interest was the crystal hum she could feel resonating nearby.

She knelt, running her hands along a patch of exposed stone. The Force hummed through her fingertips; a small crystal, pulsing faintly with potential. "Not bad," She murmured, before realizing it wouldn't work. It wasn't fully attuned yet, but she could feel its energy. She was getting somewhat better at this whole, sensing thing. "Gotta be something else around here I can use....."

Her gaze flicked to Phobos again, noting the way the other woman's shoulders sagged with weight. "You....doing alright over there?" She said softly, voice carrying more curiosity than judgment. "Or…I can just leave you be if you want?"

Alana stood, brushing dirt from her gloves, least she knew there were useful crystals here. Though this place was, an oddity to be sure.

She felt at the flicker of Force Light and let out a slow hum. "Erm, don't mind me. Just, doing Jedi stuff. Kinda."

She paused at that, and stood, blinking as she processed what she just said. "That's...not illegal here is it? Because if it is, I can explain."

"You....doing alright over there?" She said softly, voice carrying more curiosity than judgment. "Or…I can just leave you be if you want?"

"E-eep!"

Phobos squeaked in an graceless manner and scrambled to pull her hood up, letting out an awkward sigh.

"I-I'm perfectly fine!" she insisted in a rather rushed tone. "Just... on a walk is all."

It was true.

Then the stranger started rambling on about being here on 'Jedi Business.' Maybe it was Phobos' own Force Light that had drawn her in? She hadn't used it for long cleansing that dagger, but it seemed to have been just long enough for others to take note of it. A small from formed on Phobos' face when she considered the question of the stranger.

"Illegal?" the young woman mused. "We're in Galactic Alliance space. I-I doubt they decided to ban Jedi overnight..."

That would be a little silly. Or at least, Phobos thought it would be.

Alana jumped as the woman let out her squeak, giving an awkward smile as if to try and remain in a sociable manner. "Oh, well, erm...interesting place for a walk." Like she was one to talk. She had a history on going for walks in some of the worst damn spots in the galaxy; including two combat sites. "Not the worst place for a walk though."

There was relief in knowing this was still considered Galactic Alliance space. "Well, good, yeah, totally knew that. Not like, I'm an unlicensed jedi or anything, if that is actually a thing. I mean, not that I'd know, since I'm totally not a...unlicensed jedi." Alana realized the more she spoke, the less cridible she probably sounded. She rubbed the back of her head, feeling a soft chuckle come forth. "I don't think I've seen your kind before, erm, I'm Alana. Nice to meet you?" She asked, then questioned why she had asked that as a question.

"I don't think I've seen your kind before, erm, I'm Alana. Nice to meet you?"

"My... kind?" Phobos echoed, tilting her head. After a moment of silence her face became a darker shade of grey, and her hands went up to self-consciously scrunch her hood down tighter over her head. "A-ah. I... s-suppose I am a rather odd sight..."

Odd was putting it lightly. Phobos had never seen her own kind before either. As far as she was concerned there was nobody else like her in existence. That filled her with many thoughts, none of which were that healthy. After all, being alone in the galaxy was a scary thing. Nobody wanted to be the only one of their kind. That was not a choice Phobos had the luxury of choosing. It certainly gave her a lot to think about.

More accurately overthink.

"Phobos. That is my name," she finally stated, calming her nerves. "I-I was drawn out here by a dark sensation. I'm sure a Jedi knows that feeling well. Do not worry, the artifact has been thoroughly cleansed. A... local told me that Obulette used to hide a Sith dynasty in it's noble family. I suppose that accounts for the artifacts and such..."

The young woman tilted her head.

"Is that the reason you've come to this place as well?"

Alana let out a low chuckle, though it wasn't intended to be mocking. She was aiming for disarming, but it wasn’t hard to read the inflections of strangers. She shifted her weight, tugging her jacket tighter against the chill of Obulette's twilight.

"Odd sight? Darlin', you ain't the strangest thing I've laid eyes on. Trust me on that one." Her red gaze softened, flicking over the woman's hood before drifting back to the patch of earth where the dagger had been buried. "Ain't shame in bein' different. If anything, makes you harder to mistake for somebody else. Kinda nice being unique in this here galaxy, yeah?"

She glanced down to the crystals she had touched before, recalling how her fingertips had brushed the shard of crystal from the just moments earlier. She had felt a faint hum that seemed to answer her touch, like it was trying to fall to her. She fumbled with the idea in her mind, before slipping her hand into her coat pocket.

"Name's Alana," She finally said, voice quieter now. "And nah, wasn't any dark side stuff. Got no interest in Sith toys. I came out here huntin' something else. Kinda like a Jedi tradition kinda thing?" She gave a weak motion about with her free hand. "Guess Obulette's good at hidin' things, explains why I’ve been walking around lost for most of this trip."

There was a possibility that Alana was just bad at navigation, but the Echani wasn’t ready to admit that just yet.

Straightening, Alana tilted her head, meeting Phobos' eyes. "Guess that's somethin' we got in common. Looking for things bigger than ourselves. Yeah?”

"I suppose..."

It did make the galaxy feel rather lonely.

The mention of looking for something bigger than one's self did resonate with her. The Bendu which had spoken to her often spoke of this. Being a part of a larger cosmic cycle. That was why they did not peruse violence and sought balance. They were themselves a part of the galaxy, and thus had a responsibility to maintain it in some way. Even if that was as small as looking for dangerous curses to remove.

"Perhaps I can be of assistance helping you find what you seek," she suggested. "The energy of this place is clear to me. If you seek something that may have a resonance, I would be able to see it's presence from afar."

As long as she was looking in the right direction and paying attention. Alana had snuck up on her a bit because she was daydreaming.
