BACKGROUND:

Born a slave beneath the ceaseless lightning of Dromund Kaas, Rengore's chains were not merely physical. They were intellectual, spiritual, and enforced by generations of Sith who believed power belonged only to the strong.

They were wrong.

From the moment he first deciphered the forbidden inscriptions carved into the tomb walls of Korriban, Rengore understood something few acolytes ever grasp:

The Force itself was the only true weapon.

Scholar of Forbidden Rites

While others at the Academy obsessed over lightsaber forms and martial prestige, Rengore buried himself in holocrons, fractured tablets, and fragmented scrolls referencing the ancient Soth rituals — forbidden rites of spiritual binding, essence siphoning, and pain transference.

The rituals were incomplete. Many passages were intentionally corrupted by their creators.

Rengore restored them.

Through meditation in tomb chambers heavy with the Dark Side, he reconstructed missing incantations from contextual fragments. He tested them — first on captured beasts from the jungles of Dromund Kaas, then on condemned prisoners supplied by ambitious overseers eager to earn his favor.

He learned to:

  • Draw strength from the agony of others.
  • Bind minor spirits to objects as sentinels.
  • Imprint fear into the minds of enemies before a blade is ever drawn.
  • Sustain his body beyond normal limits through controlled suffering.

But ritual alone was not enough.

Master of Sith Alchemy

Rengore's true obsession became Sith alchemy — the ancient art of bending flesh, metal, and spirit to the will of the Dark Side.

Where others saw alchemy as grotesque experimentation, Rengore saw refinement.

He infused armor with residual hatred harvested from battlefields.
He altered his own physiology through subtle alchemical conditioning — heightening endurance, dulling pain, sharpening perception. The corruption of the Dark Side etched faint veins of shadow beneath his skin, and his eyes occasionally flickered with storm-blue lightning when his emotions surged.

He created:

  • War-beasts twisted from jungle predators.
  • Blades that vibrated with low whispers of bound spirits.
  • Talismans capable of dampening an opponent's connection to the Force.

Yet despite crafting weapons…

He rarely carried one.

The Force as Weapon

Rengore viewed the lightsaber as a symbol — useful, yes, but primitive.

A Sith who must rely on steel is still bound by it.

Rengore preferred to kill without ever touching his opponent.

He weaponized:

  • Telekinetic compression to crush armor inward.
  • Directed lightning shaped like lances rather than wild bursts.
  • Force choke refined into precise nerve constriction.
  • Atmospheric manipulation — calling localized surges of static charge to disrupt enemies before battle even began.

In duels, he often allowed opponents to ignite their blades first.

Then he extinguished them — sometimes literally, through precise bursts that overloaded internal components.

Those rare times he ignited his own crimson saber were not acts of necessity.

They were statements.

Rise Through Cunning

At the Academy, Rengore did not simply defeat rivals.

He dismantled them.

He sowed doubts in their masters.
Altered ritual circles by imperceptible degrees.
Fed acolytes incomplete translations of ancient texts, so their own spells consumed them.

By the time he was elevated to Sith Lord, there were whispers that the storm itself answered to him.

He cultivated that myth.

On Dromund Kaas, during particularly violent tempests, lightning has been seen striking in unnatural patterns near his stronghold. Some believe it coincidence.

Few dare test the theory.

Philosophy of Lord Rengore

The blade is crude.
The mind is sharper.
The Force is absolute.

Where others seek domination through fear alone, Rengore seeks something greater:

Control over life, death, and the currents between them.

He was born a slave.

Now, he experiments with the chains that bind reality itself.
