Clothes: Ryak wears a pair of black close fitting pants that don't sacrifice agility. He wears a black tunic as well. Over this he wears a black cloak. Gauntlets that he forged himself in the forge of Alzuth. Furthermore each of these gauntlets have a black synthetic crystal in them that act like Sith amulets allowing Ryak to concentrate his power to devastating effect.

Primary Weapon: Lightsaber

Crystal color: Both are red

First Lightsaber Hilt Description: Again with his second lightsaber Ryak preferred simplicity. However the difference was that he created it himself. It had a synthetic crystal that he crafted an imbued himself. Further more he created an activation switch that was internally and could only be activated by Ryak himself, through his connection with the darkside.

Second Lightsaber Hilt Description: His lightsaber is quite unremarkable. It has a grip which is black while the rest of the saber is silver in color.

Staff: Since his battle with Juno Armstrong, when a large chunk was taken out of his leg, Ryak has been making the use of a staff to make walking easier. The staff is satin black, except for the part which is Juno's lightsaber, and about 5’ 8” long. It is plain and is a cylindrical shape and made of a phrik alloy. In the middle of the staff, where it is held by Ryak, is the long handled lightsaber of Juno Armstrong, which Ryak took as a trophy of his victory. The staff was fashioned so that the structure of the lightsaber was not altered and the parts of the staff could be detached so the weapon could be used.

Ship:

Manufacturer: Ord Mantell Stardrives

Production: mass produced

Model: LY-780 (highly customized for Ryak's purposes)

Dimensions:

Height: 24m

Width: 32m

Length: 55m

Classification: Combat shuttle/Luxury Yacht

Minimum Crew: 1

Optimal Crew: 3

Armaments: Two medium laser cannons mounted on top near the bow. Also an ion cannon is mounted under each wing. A proton torpedo launcher is located under the chin.

Complement: The ship is designed with the ability to contain a star fighter in its aft docking bay. This docking bay was designed with versatility in mind so that it can also be used for speeders or cargo.

Equipment: The ship has a shield generator. An advanced long range sensor array, visual scanners and a shield camouflage system hidden in the pods on each side of the ship.

Sublight Speed and Maneuverability: 75 MGLT

Passenger Capacity: 5

Cargo Capacity: 100 tonnes

Consumables: 2 months

Power Core Generator/Reactor: Ord-x G-37 Power Core

Hyperdrive Rating: Class .5 Backup: Class 8.0

History of the ship's design: The ship design was originally used by Sorosuub nearly a millennium earlier. It was archived after the design had gone out of style and forgotten. Recently with retro styling becoming popular it was dug from the depths of the archives and the schematics sold to Ord Mantell Stardrives, the highest bidder. Ord Mantell Stardrives then brought the design up to date and marketed them to the Imperium and private sectors.

Role: This ship was designed and built for use by members of the Sith Order. Specifically those at a high enough rank to be allowed a ship but not able to afford a custom one. It was designed to be fast and nimble with the main goal of infiltration, escape and evade. Despite this though the ship has enough arms and armor to hold its own in battle with a ship its size, it speed and maneuverability being its main advantage. This ship has also be used by Imperial Intelligence.

Unique features: Although the ship was built for the use of the Empire and Sith it was also marketed and sold as a luxury yacht. This was done on purpose. Although the Luxury yacht doesn't have the same weapons or armor it is the same in appearance. This was done on purpose to allow Sith to infiltrate enemy planets without detection. As the enemy would not know whether the passengers of the ship were Sith, Crime Lords, or just wealthy merchants.

Strengths: Ryak's connection to the darkside is very strong. He is also very clever. His knowledge of the Sith History and the arcane is vast and although he cannot utilize all of the powers he has knowledge of he is excellent at teaching them to those whose talents lie in that area. He has developed a knack for determining that talents of his pupils.

Weaknesses: The things that used to be weakness for Ryak no longer exist in the same form they did. His anger became a fuel for him as he has learned to control it. However overtime he has come to believe more and more that the darkside is the ultimate power whose secrets must be delved into. His greatest weakness might be that he continues to dig deep, too deep, into the secrets of the darkside.

Personality: Ryak is more mysterious than ever. He has become somewhat reclusive and will only train pupils in pairs, besides his apprentice. He no longer has the temper outburst of his youth but he can still be quick to anger under certain circumstances and anyone in his way would do good to get out of it. His thirst for knowledge of the darkside and Sith history increases with every new discovery. So much so that it has become his obsession.

Bio:

Time with the Jedi

Ryak was born on Coruscant to a very well off and well known Merchant family. He was not however discovered to be force sensitive until he was around five. This was because his family traveled a lot and often moved from planet to planet. Even though he was older than preferred the Council believed that he was still young enough that no issues would arise from him having already formed connections with his parents. Although he was often head strong and impatient, he progressed fairly well over the next 8 years and the Masters just saw this as a side effect of his young age. He constantly questioned what the Masters were telling him, to the point of telling them they were wrong. Despite the fact that Ryak had these issue he tried to overcome them and be “a proper Jedi.” Around the time he was thirteen things began to look better for Ryak. His impatience grew less and he began to accept the teachings of the Jedi for what they were. This change was mainly due to the patience and kindness of a Jedi Master named Dorian Abernoth. Although he hadn't officially taken the young Ryak as a Padawn he had somewhat taken him under his wing. Master Abernoth had spent countless hours trying to help the young Jedi to curb his passions and impatience. Despite his efforts, Ryak's true personality was only suppressed and it would not take much for the monster in him to become unleashed.

One night Ryak had a nightmare. In it were a twi'lek woman and twi'lek man. They were both being arrested by Galactic Alliance security forces and taken to prison. Although most of Ryak's memories of his parents were fuzzy he knew that the beings in his dream were his parents. The rest of his nightmare was as vivid as the first portion. His parents were convicted of treason and subsequenty executed. Ryak woke from the nightmare in a cold sweat. Even though he was able to fall asleep again Ryak's sleep was troubled. When Ryak awoke the next morning he went to go find Master Abernoth. During his search Ryak walked by a couple of Jedi Knights who were discussing a treason execution that they had witnessed the night before. Ryak didn't hear any of the details but something inside told him that they witnessed the execusion of his parents. Whether it was intuition or the Force he didn't know.

Ryak finally found Master Abernoth in a meditation chamber. He asked the wise master about his nightmare. Master Abernoth responded telling him that he needed to be careful of his dreams because they could lead him astray. Ryak pressed Master Abernoth further and then mentioned what he had heard the other Jedi talking about. Master Abernoth, despite his wisdom, decided to tell Ryak about his parents because he felt that the stress of not knowing might be worse for Ryak than knowing. Apparently Ryak's parents, would had been wealthy merchants, were not only merchants but also informants for the Sith Imperium. They not only sold legal goods throughout the Galaxy but also Alliance secrets to the Imperium. They would receive then intel from spies within the Alliance and pass it through the goods that they sold. The investigation into them had been a long one but hadn't started until after Ryak had been sent to the temple for training. At which point the council decided to keep on with the training but keep a close eye on him.

Ryak was stunned when Master Abernoth finished his recount of events. He didn't know what to say. Master Abernoth finished by telling Ryak that he had spent so much time teaching him patience and helping him deal with his issues because he didn't want to see Ryak ejected from the order, which was possible given his background and the difficulties he faced.

Somehow the fact that Ryak's parents were traitors got out and after a short time it seemed as if everyone in the temple knew. As time went by the other students and even some of the knights began to treat Ryak is if he was alien or worse a traitor himself. Ryak soon had to spend most of his time alone because most of the other students ignored or avoided him. When Ryak was about 14 he began lashing out at other students and even some of the masters over just about anything, his temper steadily getting worse. Every time Ryak was made to recite the Jedi code and meditate. Four more years went by and things seem to get worse for Ryak, despite Master Abernoth's efforts, including his un-Jedi like personality. By this time Ryak had been made Padawan to Master Abernoth, who through patience continued to try to quell Ryak's impatience and temper. But his actions were in vain.

Soon after he turned eighteen Ryak had become so disillusioned with the Jedi and the Galactic Alliance that he decided he was going to leave. That night he packed his few possessions and what little credits he had into a backpack and started to leave. As he was making his out of the dormitory wing he was stopped by a younger Padawan. The younger Padawan began to question him about where he was going. Ryak simply told the younger Padawan that he was leaving and to get out of his way. The Padawan refused and threatened to go wake the Masters. By this point Ryak's anger was boiling over and he knew that if the Padawan ran to get the masters he would not be able to leave. Ryak, anger rising, took out his lightsaber and ignited it. Ryak threaten the Padawan hoping that he would give up and let him leave. The Padawan however did not leave it alone but turned to go inform the Masters. Without so much as a thought Ryak thrust his lightsaber into the back of the Padawan, killing him instantly. Ryak had let his anger take hold and control his actions...his path down the darkside had begun.

A Member of the Sith Order

Ryak left the temple that night and never returned. On his way to the spaceport Ryak realized that he didn't have enough to by passage off planet. Ryak noticed a traveler that seemed to be somewhat lost. Thinking quickly Ryak pulled out his lightsaber, approached the traveler, and demanded credits. The startled and confused traveler complied. With the money he had from the robbery Ryak now had enough to buy passage to Nar Shadaa. Ryak spent the next two years trying to scratch and murder a living from the crime ridden moon. A little while after he had turned twenty Ryak was visiting a cantina in the lower city when he heard a another Twi'lek brag to some friends about having been able to get on a transport to go to Korriban to join the Sith Academy. Ryak realized that if he joined the Sith he could get back at the Jedi for abandoning him and the Alliance for murdering his parents. He followed the Twi'lek out of the cantina and killed him. Ryak then took the other Twi'lek's place on the transport to Korriban.

Ryak trained hard and long upon entering the Sith order. He had been taken on by a Sith for training but he never got far in training with that particular Sith and was thus left to self train. Immediately Ryak took an interest in Sith Sorcery and the arcane. He learned from the former High Priest of Typhojem basic sorcery and after this training continued to seek out holocrons and other Sith Artifacts that would help him to gain more knowledge of the arcane. Soon Ryak reached a point in his power where he could be recognized as a true Sith. Ryak soon took on the responsibility of training other acolytes in the ways of sorcery and taking them on knowledge gathering expeditions so that they too could learn as he did.

Through hard work, gaining of knowledge Ryak became a Sith Master. Ryak continued to search for artifacts and train acolytes. This continued for only a short time until Ryak mysteriously disappeared. Even Ryak himself doesn’t know exactly how long he was gone but one thing was for certain. The time spent on Dathomir and exploring the Temple of Pragknoss took a toll on his body as was evident when the two acolytes found him bent over the body of a large Rancor. In the time during Ryak’s disappearance he had discovered the ancient art of chrysalide, specifically as it applies to Rancors. Upon his return to Yavin IV Ryak took up residence in a small abandoned temple. There he resumed training acolytes as well as teaching few classes. After being back in the Imperium main fold for a while Ryak was given the position of Lord Commander of Sith Taskforce for Assignation, Reconnaissance and Sabotage for acolytes. (STARS) As Lord Commander of STARS, the organization became very successful.

Ryak kept the position of Lord Commander for some time, helping to train acolytes and further the cause of the Imperium. As part of furthering the cause of the Imperium Ryak took part in the Battle of Tython. While trying to enter the Jedi Temple on Tython Ryak was confronted by Jedi Master Juno Armstrong. Ryak defeated Juno after a long drawn out battle. The Jedi did escape but Ryak was able to take her long handled lightsaber as a trophy. During the battle Ryak suffered a serious injury. A large chunk of his thigh was removed when the Jedi’s light whip caught his leg. As a result Ryak now has a permanent limp. Ryak was also responsible for the destruction of the Jedi Temple. After the Battle of Tython Ryak disappeared again. This time for over ten years.

The deep, dark vastness of the unknown regions: that is where Ryak ventured soon after the battle of Tython. For over a year Ryak searched through the blackness of the unknown regions. Occasionally he would find a sparsely inhabited planet were he could stop and “persuade” the local populations into giving him supplies.

It had been many months since Ryak last resupplied and he was running quite low. He had ventured deep into the unknown regions and it would not be long before he would need to go back toward the outer planets of the unknown regions in order to resupply. However this would require starting the search over again. The unknown regions were not charted, and even though a nav computer had basic memory, without one specifically designed for charting Ryak could not keep complete track of all the places he had searched. He had decided he would try one more, short jump before going back to the last planet he had visited.

What Ryak sought were the Sorcerers of Rhand. There was very little information to be found in the Sith archives on them. However what could be found eluded to the fact that they were a particularly powerful darkside cult. According to the records from the Chiss, the Sith had obtained, the Sorcerers had from time to time threatened Chiss territory. Unfortunately for Ryak, no coordinates could be found. Only the description and name of a nebula was present in the Sith archive records. Ryak had attempted to get the information he needed directly from Chiss records but they refused to allow Ryak access to those databases. With that Ryak went into the unknown regions with only a rough idea of where to look for the Sorcerers of Rhand.

Suddenly starlines became stars as Ryak’s ship decelerated from lightspeed. Taking up most of the view in front of him was the gaseous, scarlet swirl of the Perann Nebula. Intertwined with the nebula were the twelve star clusters supposedly in control of the Sorcerers of Rhand. Ryak was unsure as to which planet or even which system was Rhand but he was in no hurry, so he started with the system that was directly in front of him. This system had a small star and most of the planets would be consider mostly uninhabitable as they were too cold and too far from their star. There was one large planet however that was much closer and appeared to at least be inhabitable. Furthermore what drew Ryak to it was the strong darkside nexus that radiated from the planet. Ryak wasn’t sure but this could have been what drew him to choose this system in the first place.

Ryak piloted his ship into the atmosphere, which was thickly clouded, and across the surface of the planet. Flying past, by far beneath Ryak’s ship, was the rocky surface of the planet which soon gave way to steep mountains with expansive valleys. The further Ryak flew the stronger the pull of the darkside. It wasn’t long before Ryak found the center of this darkside nexus. Surrounded by a ring of jagged peaks was a shallow valley with a large lake in the center. As Ryak circled down into the valley to land he could see numerous large cave openings along the cliff faces surrounding the lake. Ryak put his ship down and stepped out. The grey light illuminated the brown dust that was still settling after the repulor’s kicked it up. Ryak wasn’t standing outside long when a group of cloaked figures approached from the largest cave entrance.

Ryak limped forward several steps, removing himself from the shadow of his ship. The staff he had created from Juno Armstrong’s long-handled saber in his right hand, digging into the rocky ground with each step. The cloaked beings continued to approach and didn’t stop until they had all formed a circle around Ryak. Ryak could sense the darkside in the group of seven beings that now encircled him. The beings cloaks were pulled far over their heads and Ryak could not tell what species any of them were; but it was clear they were all humanoid, and oddly enough all appeared to be about the same height. Before Ryak could do anything one of the cloaked figures stepped forward and produced a crimson lightsaber. Ryak did nothing but merely stared at the black figure that approached him. “Why have you come to our valley?” the figure spoke in a soft hoarse voice. “I seek the Sorcerer’s of Rhand, as I wish to join their order.” The minute Ryak finished speaking he felt the intrusion. The conscious of the figure in front of him pierced his. Ryak had been ready for something like this and he immediately closed off the parts of his mind he didn’t want picked though. At the same time though he allowed the being to dig through select parts so that he would not know Ryak was keeping out of other parts. After a short time the figure spoke again. “We will be taking your weapons.” Suddenly Ryak lightsabers flew from his belt and his staff left his hand.

Ryak followed the cloaked figure as he led Ryak into one of the caves surrounding the lake. He was surrounded by the six other figures, three on each side. Ryak noticed that the cave they entered was not the same one the beings came out of and he guessed it was for security reason that they led him into another. The crimson glow of the man’s lightsaber lit the way until they reach a cavernous room which was lit by glowrods. Without explanation the group of black figures left Ryak alone. Ryak didn’t know how long he was in the dim glow of the cavern but it seemed like quite a while before another cloaked being entered the cavern and approached Ryak. Ryak could sense that this man was much more powerful than the seven who had composed his welcoming party, and likely more powerful than himself. Ryak learned from the being that the Sorcerers of Rhand had been attacked and nearly destroyed by the Chiss. Apparently the group Ryak had happened upon were all that was left. It was clear to Ryak that the human in front of him was the leader of the Sorcerer’s remnant. Ryak was told that he would be able to join the Sorcerers of Rhand but he would need to relinquish all ties to the Sith and follow the way of the dark. Of course Ryak agreed and was initiated into the cult.

For nearly ten years Ryak lived on Rhand and learned from the remnants of the cult. Unfortunately when the Chiss devastated the cult they killed the most powerful members and thus the knowledge Ryak sought most had been lost. Nevertheless Ryak was still able to learn from the sorcerers. Most of what he was learned was the history of the Sorcerers of Rhand and the way of the dark. Ryak was actually fascinated by the way of the dark, although he did not believe in it himself. Ryak also learned much about the Force. Not so much in the way of powers but in the way one could interact with it. This greatly strengthened Ryak’s connection to the Force. Even though most of the Force powers Ryak “learned” from the Sorcerers he had already mastered, they were able to teach him a few things he didn’t know. The first was the ability to draw heat from from living creatures causing them to go cold and if kept up, killing them. Another technique the Sorcerers taught Ryak was the ability to allow the fear within him to radiate outward and be felt by others striking fear in them.

After he had been with the Sorcerers of Rhand for nearly ten years they finally trusted Ryak enough to allow him to travel off planet. Since he owned a ship and had experience piloting it, they tasked him with the job of traveling to the various planets that used to be in control of the Sorcerers when they were at their height. The remnant hoped that there might be other groups like themselves that had survived and they wanted Ryak to seek them out. Ryak was told before he left for the first time that if he were to desert he would be hunted down once the Sorcerers of Rhand returned to power. Ryak actually had no plans to return to Rhand and he immediately set about trying to chart a course back to the known galaxy. It took Ryak a couple of months but he eventually found himself back in Sith Space. His first destination was Dathomir.

There Ryak returned to the temple of Pragknoss and continued perfecting Chrysalide of the Rancors that roamed the planet. Once he was satisfied he had perfected the technique he returned to Yavin IV and the small temple he had made his abode. Ryak wasn’t yet ready to go back to teaching acolytes so he spent many weeks in solitary working on his alchemic experiments with various creatures. Ryak eventually came to the conclusion that he needed to take an apprentice. He needed to find someone he could shape and mold into a powerful Sith. Someone he could pass on his knowledge of the arcane to. So thus Ryak began his search for an apprentice.

Just out of curiosity, are you an imperial Sith, or more like a rogue? Because I'd like you to sort of train Evard, but recent events have had him throw in with the Republic.
