Lookin' for a come-up

Token Waters was, perhaps, the most out of place member of the Primeval. She did double duty with the Techno Union, obviously, representing a gambling company who worked within their space. Sure, maybe that company didn’t fit in the Techno Union either, but all that the Union was doing for the galaxy? She supported them. It was a good move, making use of the worlds that they ‘claimed’ and improving infrastructure. Which other nation actually increased the quality of life for its member planets?

She couldn’t think of many. Not to the extent that the Union did.

The Primeval space, though… There was a lot to learn out here. But there wasn’t a lot of fun going on. What she wanted to do was change that. So our urban-witch-sort-of-hero-but-not-an-epic-hero character had made her way to the world of Dubrillion. She was here to start putting up a Bright Star facility on the world, to bring that company out to the Primeval Space.

The cruise liners would be able to make their way out here too, to come see the wilds of this corner of space. The wonders that it offered. It was an exciting world, and she had spent most of the day getting the rights to build the resort. What she wanted to do was see what gaps the nightlife left for the people who lived on the planet. She was out in a black and purple dress, and of course, Chucks, but this pair were purple, with black laces, instead of the black and white ones. Simple. And her hair was all blonde tonight. Finally.

She’d be able to fill those gaps.

Or have them filled for her, take your pick. It wasn’t only an exploration of bars, but really, the Primeval, and their members, they could use the social skills from the developed galaxy.

She was doing research

And that meant a lot of shots.

Coastal cities always put out their A-Game.

The Echo of Destruction
Wrong time. Wrong place. That tended to define Zephyrus Cloud's life. He was just beginning to remember who he was and with every swing he started to feel a sense of fitting into his own skin. Which brings us to this very moment in time. Zephyrus must've had a punchable face because everywhere he went people were always trying to do him in... or maybe he was just a bantha's backside. Either way Zephyrus was in the middle of another fight just outside the cantina with some young punk T'suur that thought they could intimidate him because they had numbers and muscles he didn't even know existed. Of course he wasn't ever much for being intimidated. The first, Zephyrus kinda went for what many would call a cheap shot, a "sucker punch" but in reality these big bastards were pretty tough and could take a few hits as well as give some. Zephyrus was bloodied but it wasn't the worst he had ever received by far. When punching seemed rather ineffective Zephyrus started laying them out with force blasts from his fists. Perhaps that wasn't fair and perhaps concussing them was wrong, but the big T'suur were mean and ugly so y'know it was ok. He managed to down two more like this before the fourth and final realized that this was not a winning battle. Yeah Zephyrus was getting a bit tired by this point, perhaps his cardio wasn't the best but there was no quit in him, there was never any quit in him. When the final T'surr brought a blade out all bets were off. Zephyrus was having so much fun too, the addition of the blade made it personal. Without a thought Zephyrus washed his opponent in dark side energy, electricity flowed from his fingertips and into the T'surr. He was lucky Zeph was in a giving mood as for once he didn't snap and kill the big lug.

Zephyrus wiped some blood from above his brow, spectators enjoyed the fight until things got real. No one enjoyed seeing dark side powers on the streets. "Oh, kriff off." Zephyrus said as the crowd turned on him, scared of him. Zephyrus went back into the cantina until things cooled off a bit outside.

Even if sometimes the coastal cities didn’t always have the best of clients. She wasn’t really near where [member="Zephyrus Cloud"] was. But the girl was at least heading that direction. She was looking around at the buildings, and trying to figure out which bars were making the money, which ones could be folded into the new Bright Star resort. The latter, they’d at least hire the workers, teach them how to really bartend and entertain.

It wasn’t always a manager’s fault, but it took a bit of time to get the right staff in your establishment. A staff that worked well together was important. Bright Star needed to teach people to enjoy their tasks and they’d be fine.

But that was when she felt the Force.

It was being used and she wasn’t sure where. The Witch started walking in that direction, a bit quickly. She was going to need to make sure that people weren’t messing things up on Dubrillion. Getting outside the cantina, she saw the end of a scene… Hmm.

Maybe inside? That’s where they blonde went.

Zephyrus sat at the bar drinking away his complacency. He didn't have frankly any convictions, at least none that he could remember. Nothing drove him except the thrill of the fight but he was wise enough to know that sort of lifestyle would be his undoing. He felt irritable, he felt the need to drive people away from himself. He didn't know it yet as his past had yet to be discovered, but he was marked by death.

He took another swig of his favorite drink, a Thyrsus Stout. It was dark and still had a bite, just like him. He rubbed his forehead disparagingly, it had been months since he had escaped the void and he had nothing to show for it. He felt like a loser, in spite of being on the winning end of most of his battles. Day to day living was awful, everything just sort of ran together.

He took another drink and the bottle was empty. Just beyond his bottle he saw [member="Token Waters"] enter. He noticed everyone as they entered and judged them as potential enemies. She however did not seem to be a threat to his well-being. He ordered another drink.

It took a second for her eyes to adjust. Not that it was a big difference from the night outside to the dark interior of the cantina, but it was enough where she needed to figure it all out. She looked around. Smoke -- that was what it was, just ambient smoke and the lights playing off that. She shook her head and steadied herself as she walked through the bar. People would look, people always looked, but she smoothed her dress out just the same. She needed to qualify the bar, and make sure that Bright Star could, and would blow it away.

Dubrillion was the new location, following up Maramere, for the Bright Star E.G. to place a new location.

Best way to learn this? Make sure that she was enjoying the bar, and how to fix it. She stepped up to the bar and pulled up a stool, crossing her legs as she sat down and running a hand through her hair. A quick order for a whiskey sour and she smiled over at [member="Zephyrus Cloud"]. “How’re you?” Simple.

The blond approached him with a smile and he forced one in return. He assumed she was one of those girls, the ones that loved watching a fight, the ones that wanted a brooding man with power.

"Peachy." He said somewhat coldly, yet his yellow-red eyes still burned with intensity. He assumed she had seen it all and wanted to parade him around on a leash... Zephyrus Cloud didn't play that game.

There was a pregnant pause.

"Is there something you need, deary?" He asked straightforwardly. He wasn't one to beat around the bush. "Come to get a close up of the freak?" He ran his tongue over his right fang, and for those who knew him that was a common 'tell' of his. It signified his annoyance without being so abrupt. He let out a heavy sigh and took a large swig of his drink. "Let me save you the trouble, deary.... I don't do private shows." If she was anything like the girls he assumed she was, he didn't have time for that kind of trouble.

[member="Token Waters"]

One of those girls? Token didn’t need a man for anything. Nor did she need a woman, really. She wanted a few of both around, because they were good company and they all had fun ideas and she could learn a lot of new things from a variety of people. Sure, maybe in another galaxy, on another board, when she was a ditzy Jedi, she might’ve gone after that. But here? She was a bit stronger than she was over there. A bit more… aware of herself. She knew how to get almost anything she needed or wanted from people.

Chaos Token: The Dark Side Edition.

Keeping a man on a leash though. Now that was always fun. But it was only fair that they switched.

Right, Token. Focus. Peachy? The blonde grinned at his choice of words, taking in the bar room with a few glances but also reaching out to [member="Zephyrus Cloud"] in the Force. She loved to feel a person’s intensity in the Force. It was… intoxicating. She was the type of woman who enjoyed her vices, and would switch her drinks according to her mood.

She was running solo, and working the business angle, after the meetings, so that meant whiskey. Solo woman that could handle herself.

“Private shows? So that mess outside, your doing then?”

He stared at her a moment as she claimed ignorance, perhaps she truly was. Perhaps she wasn't one of those girls. He drummed his fingers on the bar a moment considering how to answer. He mischievously smiled, "What of it?" He arched his brow, perhaps she was a Jedi that sought a supposed justice.

[member="Token Waters"]

She did have business to attend to, that was why she was here. Well, not here, now, but why she was on Dubrillion in the first place. She had been in meetings all during the solar hours, working on land agreements, working on linking Bright Star into any form of hiring they could get, securing rights for a skyhook, one of only three that were to be appropriately retconned at Maramere and Lianna and now Dubrillion, for the liners to dock at without needing to go to a general use station. On top of that, she was working to secure a construction company to help with the assembly of the skyhook and the construction of the resort.

She was able to, with all her clothes on, lets add for those thinking otherwise, secure a really nice stretch of land, a few kilometers away from the city, but not so far that it’d be hard to bring customers into the city for shopping and the like, right on the beach. She was excited for that. Probably where she’ll move her own apartment to, since Bastion wasn’t that great, and well, having her place on Maramere was sometimes too far to go to.

Good thing she didn’t have pets.

Or house plants.

It was a lot of work, her job. That was why she was here tonight. The blonde tipped her head, yes, like her avatar, at [member="Zephyrus Cloud"] as a smile crawled to her lips. “Just curious. Where are you from?” His eyes were yellow. Jaundice or the dark side.

He shrugged his shoulders, "I wish I knew." He answered honestly. Being part of the Hive-Mind for as long as he was had significantly affected his memories. "I woke up in the Void." He said opening up a little bit to her, it was the most he was willing to do under the circumstances. He didn't know her, but whether he was aware of it or not he had a special affinity for females. It came from a deep seeded area in his mind, back in a life he used to have. Never knowing his mother had affected him immensely, but that was a long tale for another day. It made him who he was though, a dangerous beast yet he'd never harm a female intentionally and over the long course of his most DESTRUctive day, he never had.

Lots of work to be done. There would be time for the rest of it later. What she had coming up was making sure that Bright Star hosted a job fair. Sure, they used a lot of Hegemonic Automaton units for janitorial and handyman jobs, but the rest? That was all living beings. People who could think and interact and feel what they were doing. From chefs to waitstaff, to bartenders and DJs, Bright Star hired a lot of people in the foreground. Running a company was a lot of work. She’d find ways to get to sleep.

To keep her mind off of it.

Right! The Companion house. She needed to speak to Arceneau about all that work too.

What she really needed to do was focus on her companion at the bar. Running a hand through her hair, she took a second. “Void? You mean… space?” Was he rolling?
