NAME: Ljóðolfr Eyðimǫr
FACTION: Forest Sons
RANK: Skóggangr (Exile in the Wilderness)
SPECIES: Human.
AGE: 32.
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6’4
WEIGHT: 90 kgs.
EYES: Bright Green.
HAIR: Dark Brown with blonde and grey streaks
SKIN: Pale.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Untrained – Is unsure whether his animal empathy is a result of any latent force power or from cultural training as a Beast Rider on Onderon and Dxun
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Embrace of the Rimewood (-): Forgoing the safety of the hearth and fellowship of his brethren, Ljóðolfr lived upon the edge of the Rimewood and often within, living a nomadic lifestyle amongst the dangers within and returning to civilisation only when he must. This limits his knowledge of what happens upon the planet and the galaxy at large to when he is summoned to Heorot Hall as well as his access to support from his allies.
Woodland Warrior (+): Having lived separate, without clan or family, Ljóðolfr is experienced in tracking, herbalism and hunting for a warrior capable of living separately from society is favoured by Kad Ha'rangir in his eyes.
Cult of Kad Ha'rangir (+) (-): As a devout follower of his god, Ljóðolfr is able to call upon others who follow the same path, however, this also means that he views many fellow Mandalorians who do not follow the same path to be impure, tainted or deluded and does not hold the easy brotherhood that many of his fellows do.
Beast Riders of legend (+) (-): Raised upon Dxun by a tribe of hunters who still honoured the blood of Mandalore spilt there, Ljóðolfr was raised amongst the beasts who slew Mandalore the Indomitable and in respect for their leader, was taught to dominate the creatures of the wild. At home amongst the creatures of the wild, many of societies more refined necessities (Such as regular bathing, using utensils to eat and not spitting where you stand) are lost on Ljóðolfr.
APPEARANCE:
A tall and muscular man, Ljóðolfr’s frame is lankier and toned than many of the stocky and broad Mandalorians he fights alongside, a result of hunting for all his meals and constantly being on the move. Much of exposed skin he has is covered in tattoos, inking a new totem upon his flesh whenever he slays a beast he has not encountered before, believing that some part of their ferocity and spirit will assimilate with his. As he has not yet had a chance to forge any armour of beskar, he does not wear traditional Mandalorian armour as yet.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born upon Onderon, Ljóðolfr was raised upon Onderon to a family of moderate wealth, responsible for the breeding of game and hunting beasts for the upper class as well as selling and maintaining the various native creatures and beasts that the Onderon people utilised for their daily activities. While they city of Iziz was where the majority of their trade took place, his family lived upon a ranch in the Highlands.
Raised in the tradition of the Beast Riders of Onderon, Ljóðolfr grew alongside wild beasts his entire life, beginning from changing the water troughs for the Dalgos,, cleaning the nests of the Rupings and shovelling Fambaa dung. As he grew older and stronger, his tasks then changed to hunting Drexl when they flew from nearby Dxun as well as keeping the local Gutkurr population at a manageable level. As the years passed, his family passing peacefully, he found the life on the ranch to be lacking in excitement at the best of times and torturous to his soul at worst. The cycle of raising these noble beasts from hatching and birth only to see them used and abused by those who had no respect for the natural cycle sickened him and as the sun rose to his 18[SUP]th[/SUP] year of life, he decided that his time upon the planet had come to an end.
Prepping the gear necessary for the trip, his last act upon Onderon was to disengage all of the cages and holds for his menagerie, letting them loose into the wilds. With his gear packed upon the largest Drexl his family owned, he took flight into the sky. With the summer season in full swing, the atmosphere of Dxun had cut into Onderons and even with the breathing gear he had packed, the thinning air was too much for Ljóðolfr to bare and he fell into unconsciousness upon his mounts back.
Awakening to the buzz of unfamiliar insects, Ljóðolfr came to laying on the grass alone, the silhouette of his Drexl retreating into the distance as it flew to its freedom. Content that he had made it to the jungle moon, Ljóðolfr set to creating himself a shelter at a nearby lake. He lived there for many months, steadily exploring the jungle and learning to live in harmony with the beasts of the planet, hunting when hungry, defending his territory when necessary but never more than his share. It was upon one morning, exploring the edge of the region he had claimed as his own that he heard an unwelcome but familiar sound. Blaster fire.
Unbeknownst to Ljóðolfr, Dxun was not as free from sentient life as he had thought, an enclave of Mandalorians who stood vigil over the grave of Mandalore the Indomitable had claimed the forest moon as their own. Running to follow the sound of the blasters, Ljóðolfr came across a Mandalorian patrol in a heated battle against a Gutkurr swarm, their blasters ineffective against the beasts. With vibroblade in hand, Ljóðolfr charged in to assist, and the patrol followed his example, forgoing their ranged doctrines to attack in melee. While it cost many lives, the swarm was fended of and in hopes of fostering a better existence between the beasts and the sentient inhabitants of the moon, he accepted their invitation to return to their encampment.
That was many years ago and an invitation to visit the encampment turned to living amongst the tribe to eventually becoming a member, further adapting and teaching as many foundlings and the like the ways of forestry, tracking and hunting. It was when he turned 22 that he felt the fury of Kad Ha'rangir, introduced to the mighty god over time. In his cries for war and battle, Ljóðolfr heard the roar of the beasts he had long tried to emulate and live alongside, in his thirst for destruction not the senseless and wanton decimation that many ascribe to him but like a wildfire, a destruction that purifies all before it for further growth to follow, and end to the hedonistic lifestyle that city living and the opulent sedentary lifestyle it brought with it but a return to the traditional way of life, as a part of the ecosystem and not above it, a life of tooth and claw and spear and fire. Following his newfound religion, he took a pilgrimage to the heart of the followers of Kad Ha'rangir upon Krownest.
Upon swearing an oath to the cult of the destroyer god as well as his sworn vow to follow the rulers of the planet, House Kvall. Declining a place amongst the people however, the promise of a new frontier, a feral planet with a host of beasts and creatures as yet undiscovered was not one he could turn down and instead chose to live upon the border of the Rimewood. It there he has remained for years, perfecting his crafts and honing his skills.
