Lightning

I found it...

The CS Alura is mine.

The young ringmaster pondered her recent expedition.

For generations this ship has been out of operation. She was only lucky to get it out of that shipyard alive. She was extremely lucky when she got off Nar Shadda alive.

Yet despite that everyone has been telling her that it isn't even worth the trouble. Well it was to her. The CS Alura has been captained by her ancestors for centuries. She didn't know why but she could feel it was important. Or perhaps she knew it was because sixty five years ago when her grandfather had hidden it.

She remembered the elders of the circus telling her stories of its voyages and the treasures hidden within. Her grandfather never told her where it was he just said to let the force guide her, well the 'force' guided her and she found it. And now that it was back in operation she had a huge red x painted on her.

The Alura Traveling Circus isn't just a circus. It has also been an extremely active smuggling company whose assets have hurt the various major factions industry for centuries past, especially the one Sith. Niyla feared for her life as she was not equipped to deal with a Sith, or a Jedi...

Although she remembered an old Alura tale, one that may very well save her life.

Niyla walked through the empty halls of this vessel, growing ever more frustrated as she searched for it.

The amphistaff; an extremely powerful biological weapon that was grown by the Yuuzong Vong and used by their forces. Only a few were captured and brought into this galaxy after the war was over.

She knew it was here. However she had searched every room and ever corridor. As she walked through the right wings kennels she ran her hand across the bars, a dim light shining over the cages with no creatures to fill them. The young ringmaster sighed almost giving up her search before she noticed a faint drawing etched into the side of a cage.

She took hey key and stuck it into the hole, unlocking the cage to investigate further. As she looked at the dim image she pulled out a small light and flashed it on the image. It seemed to be a coiled snake wrapped around a staff, drawn over the snake's body were letters and various symbols she did not recognize. "Hmm." She said aloud and pulled out a holo lens to photograph the image for further inspection Perhaps this was a map.

A few hours later she had given up looking for the actual staff. Instead she returned to her quarters to analyze the painting. The photo she took of it was projected over her floor, she couldn't quite make out all of the symbols but she had been able to translate it enough to get a basic message using the resources of her language codex.

She now laid on the floor, her hair draping over her shoulders to hide her face as she kneeled down. "Deliuo kahlipire sand'so shaia... Where's the rest? Deliuo kshlipire sand'so shaia- That's it!" She growled under her breath as she threw her body up, her hair majestically flying back. She pieced the words with their meaning, it seemed to be Vong for. "The snake lies in the staff." Niyla took a sip of her wine and brushed a hand through her hair. She was too tired for this.

Her bed taunted her as she laid on her aching knees deciphering a painting. Niyla shook her head and placed the codex down.

I'll do this in the morning... She thought as she stepped up to turned the machine off. Quickly after the lights, and soon enough the young ringmaster laid asleep.

As she slept she had a dream, in this dream she heard the vivid sound of a snake's hissing coming from this small bamboo stick. At the time she made nothing of it, however the next morning as she prepared for her day she continued to think of this, she remembered perfectly an identical stick resting in a small glass case in one of the planetary antique shops back on...Nar Shadda.

She was only lucky to get passed the blockade with this vessel once, there was no way the ship would make it in and back out again, especially not on a mere whim.
