Life Is To Short To Atone For Sins

My eagerness to find a Master landed me in the sights of one that was deemed a traitor of the Sith, one Darth Venefica. She wasn't in possession of the skills I sought, I mean I'm awkward but she has bones in her hair, wrists, and ankles. And she had this demeanor about her that just screamed "Don't fail me!" I was slightly worried about my state of living. But she had chosen me, not the other way around. So I was no longer Masterless.

I wasn't quite sure where I was suppose to meet her, her cryptic message left me bewildered and confused. The only thing I did know was that she wanted to meet me in a secluded area. Which worried me further. I'm no coward, but I'm no fool as well. So I took measures to prevent some sort of mishap, by having some of the Sith troops take up residence in the nearby building. Oh, we were meeting on Anaxes, a planet she told me in her message that held some sort of heart for her.

While I waited for this Sith Lord to meet me, I began to wonder what my training would entail. I mean, afterall, I was worried that she would try to turn me to her cause and in the end, make me a traitor by proxy. That was my greatest concern, because unlike her, I wanted to see the Sith thrive, not squabble over politics. But hey, who was I to say such things since she had come out of retirement to train me.

Then I felt it. A strong aura of the Dark Side growing closer. I looked at the building where the troops waited, for just in case reasons, and wondered if they felt it. Which I knew they didn't. So I pulled back my robe to better reach for my lightsabers, beacause if this woman tried to kill me, then I wanted to make her know that I wasn't an easy prey.

It had been some time since she felt the need to do anything. Isolation and self-imposed exile did nothing for her fragile mind, making her feel less complete; less of a Sith. All of her goals had been smashed and crashed upon resistance but she had endured; mostly. Her associates, if she still had any, where probably long gone, doing their own thing and not caring about her; which she felt was for the best. She had caused more problems than solutions, more questions than answers, and worst of all, she felt a tiring heart growing inside her; misery surely did love company.
But change was in the air, at least that's what she hoped.
It had been ages since she thought of taking an Apprentice, other than one she had no idea of her fate, she had failed them all; including herself. She was a failure, a puppet with cut strings; but even the most lost children could find a family. When the Dagobah Sith's eyes fell on the masked man, something clicked in her head. Maybe by teaching him, in turn this masked man could help her. Maybe, just maybe.
She had chosen the planet of Anaxes for sentimental reasons above any other reason. This planet held some of the more hardest memories for her. At one time, she ruled and governed the planet. At one time, her long lost beloved Black Rose was birthed her. And it was here, on Anaxes, that everything she tried to create fell into ruin; and her running off to the Outer Rim. The Black Rose was gone, perhaps even dead, and like her lost associates, that was probably for the best. It was time for new beginnings, or at least something along those lines; or maybe she just needed to pass along her teachings before crawling into a hole and die.
The bone collector arrived at the meeting place, sensing that she and her future apprentice were not alone. Had he betrayed her already before she had the time to teach him? Was he that eager to make a name for himself? Or maybe she was just paranoid, putting more stock into something that wasn't there; or perhaps he was just being cautious. She couldn't blame him, afterall, she was hated to the point that the whole galaxy wanted her dead.
"I see you are playing the cautious card close to the heart," she said emerging from the shadows.
"A Sith....a true Sith should never need to take such....precautions. Besides masked man, if I wished you dead....then your little band of misfits...along with yourself....would be dead."
"I am Darth Venefica....your Master...and you....are now....mine!"

Her chilling words send cold shivers down my spine, and when she announced I belonged to her I began to understand the true meaning that Sith deal in absolutes. Traitor or not, I had to respect her power less fall victim to that odd looking hilt that swung proudly on her beautiful hips. She was my Master now until I reached her status in title, then after that maybe I would seek to form a bond of loosely friendship, but first I had to survive her teachings. Dropping to a knee, I lowered my head and said, "From this day forward I pledge myself to your teachings. You are the Master and I but the student, my life is given to you to sculpt and manipulate in any fashion you see fit."

My chosen words were dangerous to me, opening myself up to all sorts of trouble if I failed her. "Master," I began, "Some among the Sith Order claim that you are a traitor, a disbeliever in our cause, yet you proudly wear the mantle of Sith Lord. I meekly ask that you explain to me why this is?"

Her anger began to rise at not just at the questions posed at her, or the tone of the voice her Apprentice spoke; nor the way it was presented to her. It was that one word 'traitor' that began to send her into a frenzy, making her feel almost shameful of the poor choices she had made, and who was this little boy in a mask to ask her such important questions; forcing her to rethink her bad decisions.
"Do you think you're ready to hear such truths....do you think you have earned the right to bear testimony to my downfalls?"
Retrieving her blade, she ignited it and fell into her Makshi stance.
"Perhaps it is time to see what you are....and what you will never become!"
Darth Venefica knew this kid could never match her Force for Force, or lightsaber to lightsaber, but he accidentely made a life changing challenge to her, and as his Master; he needed to learn his place here and now. Despite hoping to find her chosen one, she felt another bad choice had been made, but this masked fiend had come to her; and if he couldn't defend himself properly then she would kill him and seek out another worthy of her teachings.
Monstrously she lunged at him, driving her hot blade toward him in quick fashion, and if he couldn't defend himself properly, she would toy with him until she grew bored; cutting him piece to piece with darkened happiness.
