The day came that Vaudin looked at his life and his duties and had to make a serious decision. He had been the representative of Iktotch for the republic for nearly fifteen years and he had done his best, all drinks aside, to be a fair and reasonable man. He had fought on the front lines with the troops and Jedi. He had stood up for the rights of the citizens, clones and even prisoners of war. He had stood for what was right as far as he could but Iktotch was no longer under the republic and he had to choose between a government that condoned collateral damage and the world he had been sworn to represent all those years ago. To him the choice was as simple but difficult none the less.
"To whom it may concern;
Hey folks. I know this may come as a shock, or maybe not, who knows but I am returning to Iktotch to work with my people to reestablish our defenses and our economy in the vacuum left after the republic's forced withdrawal. I have been thinking about this a long while and can come up with no reasonable way to reconcile my views and duties with those of the republic any longer. My people were my first responsibility and sadly no longer support the republic's interest as they are. I will continue as an elder of my people and we will continue to be a world open to your people for trade and resupply but we are no longer going to be a republic world. I hope that one day that changes but in this galaxy where planets and systems change hands like sabaac cards who can really say. I thank you all for your time and Jack I want you to know who were always one of the best (Still are if you ask me). Good luck kids, may the force be with you.
