Lets Get Down to Business (Torra Orion)

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
[member="Torra Orion"]

Location: Zygerria medical hospital

The healers and doctors here were a welcome sight as Matsu worked with them, the healing crystal she had found with Vulpesen had proven useful for them but one crystal and understaffed healers who were getting much training had brought her a need to work on augmenting some of their technology as she sat there with a grin on her face. The holosuite design appearing while she moved it around and was showing them what the plan was. A new padawan was coming to meet her and she was a healer in need of lessons which Matsu was more then happy to provide. It would allow her to work on this casing and work with her to learn some of the stronger healing techniques. The datacron and holocrons she had for force healing were a great thing to teach her Voss healing rituals but more then that how to use the force several other skills.

There is no emotion, there is only peace.
Torra recited that line in her head as she moved among the crowd, the young padawan grimacing as someone bumped against her. She was uncomfortable in crowds like this, preferring the solace of libraries and rolling grasslands with animals grazing peacefully. This was about the opposite of that, and Torra had to recite the code she lived her life by . The code that guided her every action.
She eventually made her way to the hospital where she was to meet Master [member="Matsu Ike"], who would teach her lessons in healing. She had basic understanding, but little actual experience utilizing that ability.
Torra walked into the building, and spotted the woman.
"Greetings, Master Ike."
She gave a slight bow. Was this how one greeted a Master? Hopefully it was, or Torra was going to look fairly stupid at the moment.
The Padawan blushed slightly and straightened, clasping her hands behind her back.
"I understand that you are to teach me healing."
And hopefully it would be soon, as the suffering of those around her affected her greatly as a natural empath.

Matsu looked as she heard and felt the padawan approaching, with all the life here there was a nice thing to feel. Soothing and many of the patients liked having the jedi healers working on things. She however was standing there in the middle of the room now as her hand typed into the wrist pad to change the holosuite display. Her table and parts were in there but the training course for working on the cube, but more then that working to teach the padawan how to heal in both the force and practical applications. "Yes I will be and call me Matsu there are a number of master Ike's you'll learn." She had a smile on her face though while standing there and the table with the crystals was on display. "Welcome to one of the healers training suites, here we use holotechnology to give you better experience then some of the more basic exercises." She looked more while motioning her forward. "I am just working on some new equipment for the hospital here using the healing crystals I managed to find and readings from a sleeper ship we discovered.

Matsu? The Master wanted Torra to call her by her first name?
The padawan had never been on a first name basis with anyone. She hadn't had friends growing up, and her parents were formal to a fault.
This level of familiarity so quick felt. . .strange. Not bad, simply strange.
"Of course, Mast- erm, Matsu."
Torra stepped forward, looking at what [member="Matsu Ike"] was working on. The technology, she did not understand, but the crystals, the crystals gave off a presence. She zeroed in on it, her curiosity getting the better of her.
"Tell me, what is this meant to do?" She asked, her tone still formal and restrained.

Matsu smiled looking at her while she looked down towards the crystals and the cube she was working on. The smaller tubing going through the outer shell as she was filling the inner chamber with crystals and pushing force energy into it. "This is going to be a healers cube, I know how taxing healing can be on many jedi so this is made to be able to help them." She moved around the table and held one of the life crystals. "With the healing energies and suspension technology. This general purpose is to put them to sleep within an area so the healing can take over. A theory is this might be ble to extend ones life with suspension technology.... but I am not certain if that will work yet."

Torra stared at [member="Matsu Ike"], enthralled. Learning was one of her favorite pastimes, and one of the few things she allowed herself to enjoy. In her mind, all knowledge was good, and wanted to amass a vast wealth of knowledge.
This device sounded like it would help many, and that instantly made it a priority for Torra.
"I see. How can I assist in it's completion?"
Torra's eyes were lit up in excitement at the thought of helping people with this device, and at the chance to assist not only those in need but her fellow Jedi as well.

Matsu looked at her and nodded, she had her on the line wanting to help and was glad for the assistance. Matsu looked her over and motioned for her to get over near her and spoke. "THank you for that padawan, first we need to infuse the crystals with energy. That will require your first lessons. How to heal, we want to put everything we can into the crystals to get them glowing within the inner casing. THe small computer will regulate the suspension technology and ability for the energy to pass through. It will also give the cube a blue glow." She was grinnign with that and held her hands out while she was focusing the energy into them, slowly energy swirled and glowed around it like blue fire she could wield and push into others. Here she was pushing it into the crystals to augment their energy output as the transparasteel turned into a solid blue closing it off but she was watching the padawan. "Next I will show you how to revitalize those with you."

Torra nodded as [member="Matsu Ike"] finished, and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled it.
There is no emotion. There is only peace.
She focused on the energy signatures given off by the crystals, allowing her own to mingle with it.
There is no ignorance. There is only knowledge.
Torra drew out the energy flowing out from her body into the Force, allowing it to swirl around her.
There is no passion. There is only serenity.
Torra pushed her energy into that of the crystals, feeling that essence of her being intermingle with the crystal. For that moment, the crystal and her were one being within the Force.
There is no death. There is only the Force.
Torra blinked in surprise as she saw the blue glow that the crystals now gave off, her brown eyes widened in amazement.
Then she turned to her Master, her face questioning, searching for any sign of approval of her actions.

Matsu was watching the padawan work on the cube as she gave it a good look. With the crystals glowing she felt her own energy top it off and closed the inner casing while moving to make sure it was sealed and inside it was glowing before she closed the top of it. The energies from the force crystals inside were there but muted for a moment while a small console on the surface was there. Script across the top as she activated the system and the cryoban system activated, swirling gas super cooling it as the blue light began to slowly swirl around a little. Her hands touched the corners that were controlled while she lifted it up and held the cube taking it to a stand. The holosimulation changing to show a patient wing with screens around them while she motioned for the padawan to stand with her and watch. "Watch the sequence so you know how to turn it off." She let it remain there while inputting the commands for seven minutes of testing with the injured simulations and the scanners. Matsu led the way pushed the force to let energy restore within her padawan while watching it. SLowly the cube activated with blue light pulsing out while the room got colder and she was watching the scans. "Hibernation is setting it, the cryo suspension technology is doing as planned and some organic material on the table is showing signs of healing. At the microscopic levels."

Torra watched the process with fascination. On Taanab, she had been very sheltered, with little exposure to technology. She'd never even seen a starship until she left to join the Silver Jedi.
So the paid rapt attention to the sequence of the simulation, and even more as the device began to do it's work.
"That's progress. Should we put more energy into it, or change it's machinery?"
The padawan had little understanding of how the machine worked, but was willing to do whatever it took to complete it.

Matsu was watching it and timing it while she looked to the padawan and offered a smile. "It is functioning as wanted but testing it on real patients is still some time away. Once the first test is done we can work on the results and you will be working with the simulation. A healer can use the force but healing all of the things will tire you out. You will have to know the difference between when to heal with the force and when to use your medical kit. Now for serious cases this goes without question but not all broken limbs need to be healed right away. Triage and preparing a mental level of care you can get to." Matsu was looking at her while she brought her palm holo up showing the results from the simulation. She was looking over some of it that displayed the cube was inactive now. "Do you understand."

Torra stared with rapt attention.
As long as she had lived, she wanted to help people. When she would lay in the grasslands as a child and listen to the stories of Jedi long past, she would tell herself that she would be one of them. That she would make sure no one had to suffer anymore.
Even as she approached her twenties, the padawan still wanted that.
So the idea that she shouldn't heal every little injury she saw or felt didn't settle well with her, but she understood it's necessity. If she was tired, then she could no longer help those in need nor defend her patients if need be.
So it was with slight hesitancy that she nodded her understanding of [member="Matsu Ike"]'s words.
"Yes, I understand."

Good. Matsu reentered the holosuite as they were workign on it and gathered the cube from the center while making sure it was off and locked. Then grabbed a medical kit that could be used for the simulation, as the patients around changed to various states of injured and a small thing of colored tags came. Matsu was presenting both to the padawan while she went over some of them on the datapad to change it up a little and make it more random. "Alright the first step is to look over your patients. THe most critical are the ones you get to first but some could have internal injuries that are more serious. It will be your job to treat them with your force skills or with your kit. Use both your eyes and your senses cause we put a great deal to try and make these as lifelike as we can."

Torra nodded her understanding of [member="Matsu Ike"]'s words, and once the simulations were ready, she stepped forward to the first patient, medical kit in hand.
It was a human male, and immediately Torra was struck by the amount of pain he was in. It struck the empath like a fist, and she had to keep herself from staggering. But she once more recited the code in her head, and inhaled deeply. She was able to overcome sharing that sensation with the man, and stood by his side, her brown eyes examining him.
The most obvious thing was his arm, which was bent at an angle that arms were not meant to hold.
There were also several cuts along his side, and a larger one on his head.
The padawan felt her heart break as she watched him writhe in pain, but shook her head of those thoughts and got to work.
She knew that the first thing to do was to set his arm, and splint it.
Torra gently wrapped her hands around his arm, and with another deep inhale, bent it into the right position.
His shriek of pain cut directly to her heart, and his pain flooded her own nerves. She whimpered as she shared his suffering, and for a moment, tears came to the girl's eyes.
But after that moment, she managed to cut herself off from that stab of agony, and the code once more ran through her head.
The empath then fell back on the kit, disinfecting the smaller cuts then using her energy to knit them back together.
Finally, she came to the cut on his head, and painted it in antibiotics, and wrapped it in a bandage.
Finally, she injected him with anesthetics, and inhaled in relief.
Torra looked back at her teacher, her brown eyes sparkling as she searched for a sign of approval.

Matsu stood there watching the padawan, her smile as the girl went to work on the patients. The simulation able to keep them going while she was letting her hands dance over the cube, with its controls she was reading the data and making adjustments. She would look up as the feeling from the padawan as the girl was working harder. A look over to her while Matsu approved, she was working on it and making the patient good as the smirk appeared on her face. "You are doing well." The look down at the data while she was working on the sections of the cube with the cryoban energy adjusting it to lessen the range and make it slightly stronger. She wanted to narrow down the area around its effective range but then allow it to produce a cone around of the suspension tech.
