Description:
Designed and constructed with supplying modern infantry and other military personnel with highly effective multipurpose armor, the LBA was manufactured. Plated with plasteel and plastoid alloys, the LBA was underlaid with armorweave to dissipate blaster bolts and disperse their energy. This underlay was implemented due to the plates' minimal surface coverage, joints and other areas were highly vulnerable to explosive or shrapnel.
In addition to protective properties, it boasted an internal electrical system in the helmet. It fielded a Heads-Up-Display to assist with aiming, designating targets, passing along information, or accessing the HoloNet. Coupled with this was a Short range comlink on a secured frequency which allowed legionnaires and their superiors to establish effective communications within their area of operations with ease. The shoulders, back, and torso also contained tiny compartments that regularly broadcasted an IFF signal to allow legionnaires to identify friendly soldiers at great distances when using the HUD.
As a flexible multipurpose armor, the Legionnaire Battle Armor suit also fielded an environmentally activated sensor that changed the armor's camouflage configuration based on its surroundings. However, with all of these internal systems and plating resulted in the suit being heavier than the average battle armor, making legionnaires strain harder in combat to move from cover to cover and thus increased their vulnerability.
