Strengths:
  • The Legacy possesses a tremendous amount of firepower for its size, and is capable of inflicting serious damage upon even a larger Star Destroyer should it get the jump on the enemy.
Weaknesses:
  • The anti-capship firepower of the Legacy is focused in its main blisters. If a single blister is destroyed, 10% of the ship's anti-warship guns are gone, a severe blow to the vessel.
  • The Legacy has no anti-warship guns facing directly forward, relying exclusively on broadside attacks to inflict damage on enemy ships.
Description: Originally crafted for the Omega Protectorate, the Legacy-class Heavy Cruiser is very visibly based around the Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser design that has been a stable of the galaxy for hundreds of years. The ship has undergone a significant refit in preparation for sales to the Krath and their ICO associates - the entirety of the ship's former anticapital armament has been stripped, replaced with light beam cannons. This gives the Legacy tremendous anti-warship power while still allowing the vessel to fit two squadrons of fighters - anti-warship power that from a purely beam-based standpoint is superior to even the Yorika. That said, the lack of secondary guns means that should the beams be destroyed by a precision attack, the Legacy is near-worthless against capital ships, able to only rely on its fighter and/or bomber squadrons to destroy the enemy ships. The vessels provided to the Krath and ICO serve a marked interest in the Core, able to swiftly destroy most ships that would threaten the worlds of that region of space with little effort. Its simplistic design and low crew requirements have allowed for dozens to be transported for Krath and ICO use in a short span of time.

Nothing is wrong with the ship itself but the use of the schematics isn't possible. There is excerpts from canon for the Outbound Flight novel that the New Republic extracted the data after Luke rediscovered it, for the intent of uncovering information on the old Jedi Order. It does not say if there was anything or what they found, but it is certain they took whatever is there before the One Sith ever arrived for the dominion.

Just take that out and this is fine.

[member="Gir Quee"] The fact that it has all its anti-warship firepower in the blisters is the weakness in question. If one of the blisters is destroyed, the Legacy loses 10% of its entire anti-capital ship firepower in an instant, thus rendering the cruiser vulnerable to surgical strikes.

[member="Vanessa Vantai"], that could work if he blisters are noticeably more vulnerable to damage than the rest of the ship. Otherwise, that reads more like a calculated design choice to me.

Sure, more firepower may be tied up in particular points of the ship, but the advantage to that is that the concentrated firepower is also what makes this much more likely to penetrate through enemy defenses and/or deal widespread damage.
