Strengths:
  • Modular: The LD-58 is made specifically to be modular, it is easily adaptable to the user's combat style and various different scopes, laser dots and other modules can be incorporated.
  • Two Modes: The LD-58 has two modes; Blaster mode and Sniper mode. Blaster mode uses less ammunition and weaker shots whereas sniper mode uses more ammunition and much stronger shots.
Weaknesses:
  • Vulnerable to Lightsabers: Unfortunately, the LD-58, with all of it's strengths, is not resistant to lightsabers. Although most of the time the user will be far away from their target, it is still a possibility that they would be close enough to be vulnerable to lightsaber attacks.
  • Large: The LD-58 is quite large and hard to transport and carry, especially when the extended barrel module is attached.
DESCRIPTION

The LD-58 Modular Blaster Rifle was first released by BlasTech Industries in 815 ABY on the Open-Market as an adaptable rifle for use by the general public. It was used by various groups across the ages until it's production was halted in the year 845 ABY due to more advanced technology arising. Due to this, it's use is now limited to very few people. Although it is still relatively effective, it is simply not up to par with recent technology and is generally only used by poor scavengers or lowlife criminals.
