Description: Soon after making the Brochium, Tractatus decided to develop an attachment for it in the form of a retractable blade. Made from Durasteel, the Latens uses a spring system to retract into the arm. The system is activated by a small button on the palm of the Brochium, pressed by the thumb. The blade takes about a second to come out and go back into it's compartment in the arm. While not meant for a straight-up fight, it will provide an advantage in surprise attacks and as a holdout weapon. If the Brochium is hit with an EMP device, the Latens can still be triggered with the spring system, though it is much harder to use with the lack of control over the arm in that case.
