Further Information:

Born into a proud military family on a planet most famous for its ship production, Kuat, it was clear from the moment she could run that Kyra Proga wasn't destined to live a civilian's life. Notably determined from a young age to be the fastest at whatever she was doing, Flight Corporal Proga displayed a keen aptitude and interest in speeder bikes - an interest that translated well into piloting fighters during her teenage years. A few bouts of illegal speeder racing brought her into the watchful gaze of the planetary defense force, eventually culminating in a court appearance. However, due to how she had outrun so many of the pilots that had given chase to her, Kuat's Military Command were unwilling to lose a natural talent to the penal system. As a result, the Judge overseeing the case offered her a choice: Time in a cell and the revoking of her pilots license, or her immediate sign up to the Planetary Defense Core's naval training program. It was hardly a choice. During her time as a cadet, she excelled in almost all of the practical tests, scoring top marks during live firing exercises, application of tactics, air-to-air combat drills, air-to-ground combat drills, ground-to-ground combat drills, and offensive boarding actions. However, typically Flight Corporal Proga (then Cadet Proga) flunked the less practical and more academic sides of her training. It was only because of her high marks that she was allowed to progress into the navy proper. By her twenty second year, Kyra had risen to the position of Flight Corporal, and found herself in charge of a flight of other fighters. This proved to be another turning point in her life, and Kyra elected to remain within the military long after her legally forced period had ended, with her eyes set on becoming a flight chief. Or even perhaps, a Commander. Only she had resolved never to find herself at the helm of one of those disgustingly slow capital ships, as the navy's training had never really beaten her need for speed out of her. Upon the One Sith's attack of Kuat, Kyra saw an opportunity to jump ship, figuring that if a navy of that size could rip a chunk out of the Galactic Republic and still keep going for more, it was probably a much safer option to join them, rather than making attack runs on their capital ships. Fortunately, her flight thought the same way and collectively they found a way to defect. Shortly thereafter, Kuat was annexed, save for the driveyards and by her own design she had survived, renaming her flight "Kuat's Hope" and managing to secure them four brand new gunships in the process. Unfortunately her rise past Flight Corporal was delayed, due to her status as a defector, however with aggressive actions breaking out across the Galaxy, she was sure that an opportunity would present itself to advance...
