ADVANCED SYSTEMS

[*]
Advanced Transport: While not a foolproof way of transport between ships, the force cylinder was brought over to the Komnene II keeping with her predecessor’s blueprints.

Strengths:

  • Defense: The Komnene II’s defense is key to its survival, multi-layered shields. In addition, she bears an ablative hull to help keep her alive.

  • Medical: A state of the art medical vessel her big strength is the ability to help the sick and injured while on their way to the nearest medical facility.
Weaknesses:

  • Fighters: She lacks actual fighters to her name instead she bears dropships, those dropships have only one purpose and that is to pick up personnel and evac them back to the Komnene. Most personnel are wounded coming out of combat zones. The lack of fighters to her defense continues to put her at a disadvantage in combat situations.

  • Turn Rate: Another drawback of the Komnene is her turn radius in the want for a larger hangar space she’s continued to sacrifice her turn rate making her a bomber’s perfect target.

  • Offense: Another sacrifice in the name of carrying more wounded, her armament has been reduced once again leaving the Komnene little arms in which to defend herself with.
Description: The Komnene II in its refit now carries an increased hangar capacity trading this in exchange for maneuverability and armament once more. She continues however to be a state of the art medical ship capable of handling the needs of the most delicate of the wounded to general stabilization. Her medical equipment continues to enable the Komnene to treat her patients.

Not fit to sit and wait around in a combat zone, the Komnene will instead dispatch dropships and wait for patients to come to her. In more peaceful circumstances she can be seen settling into the atmosphere or if necessary landing and receive her patients this way. The Komnene’s defense continues to rely on a multi-layered shielding and in the case of the Komnene II’s her new ablative armor to help see her through war zones, as in some circumstances she may be required to rush through them. While not the most maneuverable vessel, she can with average speed get through and with the help of her defenses survive the crossing of war zones in order to take the sick and injured to safety.
