Raised in a family of which his father was an agent in Sith Imperial Intelligence before he was eventually outted as an intelligence source to the New Imperial Order just days before Lothal fell to the Bryn'adul. After securing transportation for Kolson, his mother and siblings to fledgling New Imperial space, he was summarily executed by the Sith Imperial military weeks before their failed offensive on the Bryn'adul.
Settling on Adumar, Kolson enlisted to join the New Imperial Stormtrooper corps at the age of twenty, volunteering to participate in Storm Commando selection following his completion of Stormtrooper training at Fort Rex. At the time, with its training apparatus still on Adumar, Kolson of Class 411 of the Storm Commando candidates was brought through the ringer, surviving 'Culling Week' where instructors, cadre and the elements themselves seek to break down new candidates before they officially enter the selection process he moved on to Special Forces training as a weapons specialist, designated marksman after he managed a perfect score on all qualification rounds.
The full Storm Commando training took over a year to complete, conducted mostly on Adumar and Iridonia the Storm Commandos learned important tactical and combat skills as well as skillsets in wilderness survival and unconventional warfare, all of them required to pick up another language ranging from Cheunh or Huttese to Bocce in order to better collaborate with local forces on outlier worlds.
After graduation, Kolson was assigned to Operation Detachment Alpha 'Raider', participating mostly in counter-insurgency operations in the Imperial Outlands until he was eventually assigned the rank of Commander and team leader to which he was assigned to the now leaderless 'Vandal' detachment which had lost its commanding officer and a majority of its unit following the second battle of Bastion.
He has since commanded the detachment for the next decade to follow under several different operation curriculums from force multiplier, air assault operations during the Third Imperial Civil War and Second Hyperspace War as well as unconventional warfare supporting the Ashlan Crusade against the Sith as well as local Imperial separatist cells against the Galactic Alliance.
