GENERAL INFORMATION
"You’ll know her when you see her. Tall, lean, all angles and steel. Her hands aren’t hands. Black alloy claws that hum when she’s thinking about using them. Moves like she’s already planned how to kill you twice before you even speak.
And if Dominique Vexx is in the room, she’ll be standing close enough to catch a knife meant for her; Close enough to tear your throat out if you even think about trying." - Security Chatter
------
"Listen, if you’re dumb enough to cross Vexx, keep your eyes peeled for the woman with the claws. Long black hair, eyes that don’t blink when she’s deciding if you’re worth keeping alive, and arms like some nightmare tech pulled straight outta the Core’s black labs.
She doesn’t talk much—doesn’t need to. If you see her shadow in the doorway, it’s already too late to run." - Denon Informant
------
"She’s not security. She’s insurance. Tall, dark-haired, cybernetic from the shoulders down, and built for violence. Those claws aren’t for show; they’re the last thing half the city’s troublemakers ever saw. If Vexx sends her to a meeting, it’s not a negotiation. It’s a verdict.
My best advice? Smile, agree, and pray she never learns your name." - Unknown Backroom Logs

HISTORY
Kira Veylan was born in the industrial heart of Denon, a city-planet where air traffic chokes the skies and neon bleeds into the cracks between corporate towers. Her family, Marek (father, dockworker), Sera (mother, café owner), and Jel (younger brother), lived in a modest apartment well above the undercity’s most dangerous levels, close enough to hear the hum of the maglevs but far enough to avoid the worst gang violence.
That safety wasn’t an accident. When Kira was eighteen, she became entangled with the Black Lattice Syndicate, a sprawling criminal network that thrived on enforcing its grip over Denon’s lower trade districts. She joined not out of coercion, but calculation. If she could earn enough credits and gain enough standing, she could keep her family protected, insulated from the gang wars that raged in the streets below.
Kira quickly proved herself as an enforcer. She was brutal in close quarters, known for ending disputes in ways that left permanent messages for would-be troublemakers. Her reputation earned her a stable flow of credits. Most of which she quietly funneled to her family through untraceable fronts: a “maintenance fund” for her father’s dock crew, bulk food contracts for her mother’s café, and paid tuition for her brother’s offworld education. She avoided visiting them directly, knowing her presence could put them in danger, but she kept tabs on them constantly through intermediaries and street informants.
Her ascent was interrupted during the Ghol Sector Massacre, a bloody, three-way turf war between the Black Lattice, the Void Sabers, and the Crimson Apex. When the fighting spilled into an abandoned facility rumored to hold experimental cybernetics shipment, Kira was caught in the blast radius of a thermal charge. The explosion tore away both her arms and damaged her head, chest, and abdomen beyond natural repair.
The Black Lattice saw potential instead of a corpse. Using the stolen tech shipment, their underground cybernetics unit rebuilt her with military-grade augmented arms, clawed and plated for close combat. Her torso was reinforced with synthetic musculature and armor mesh capable of absorbing kinetic impacts. Her head tinkered with to make her a force to be reckoned with and near impossible to sneak up on.
But the head injury she suffered that day paired with the augmentations left her with severe retrograde amnesia. The gang hoped she would recover and return to their ranks, but instead she slipped away during her convalescence. With no clear memory of her loyalty to the Black Lattice, she wandered Denon’s undercity, taking mercenary work to survive. Despite her fractured mind, one instinct remained unshaken: keeping her family safe. She still funnels credits to them from her jobs, never revealing she’s alive, never visiting in person, but always ensuring they remain untouched by the chaos she walks through daily.

APPEARANCE
Kira cuts a striking and dangerous figure. Her heavily-armored cybernetic arms extend from reinforced shoulder joints to clawed hands, each digit capable of crushing bone or slicing through durasteel. The plating is a dull gunmetal with occasional red status light insets that pulse faintly with her heartbeat. Beneath her midriff, further signs of augmentation are visible with interwoven synthetic muscle and dermal armor panels where flesh meets alloy. Her eyes are plainly augmented for all to see, though the depth of those augmentations remain a mystery to all but Dominique Vexx.
Her combat-worn military fatigue pants are tied at the waist with an old hoodie, its fabric faded and frayed, kept more as a talisman of her past than for warmth. Thick, black combat boots that are scarred from years of use complete her silhouette. In motion, she carries herself like someone who’s never forgotten how to stalk prey, even if she’s forgotten who some of that prey was.
Her face remains human despite her augmentations with sharp cheekbones, high-bridged nose, and a gaze that can shift from cold detachment to predatory intensity in an instant. When she smiles, it’s usually without warmth.

PERSONALITY
Kira is an adaptive survivor above all else. Even without her memories, her instincts remain honed; She reads body language, patrol patterns, and danger like other people read street signs. Her amnesia leaves her less tied to ideology and more committed to living in the present and owning her choices now, even if they’re built on someone else’s bloody foundation.
In combat, she is aggressive but not reckless preferring to close the distance quickly, overwhelm with speed and brutality, and leave no chance for retaliation. She is highly tactile in combat, using grabs, joint locks, and disabling strikes, a reflection of her enforcer origins.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Close-Quarters Mastery – Her augmentations give her unmatched lethality within arm’s reach; she can disarm, incapacitate, or kill in seconds.
Urban Survivalist – Knows how to navigate and survive in the most dangerous districts of Denon’s undercity.
Memory Gaps – Her amnesia paired with the brain recorder sometimes causes disorientation, making her vulnerable to mental manipulation.
Impulse for Violence – Her conditioning as an enforcer leads her to overreact with force, even when unnecessary.
