Kindread Spirits

It had not been too long, and yet not long enough. Nothing could stop the way she felt. Not the constant time she went to the training grounds in the Sith temple and decimated droid after droid. Not the many times she would feed her pet sithspawn Sebastian Republic prisoners or spy she'd caught on Courascant. Not even trying to relax with her lover, the twi'lek Dara Gola, had taken it away. Her master had gone and turned her back on the Sith, and Darth Raven hated her for it. Her wounds from the fight had been healed but it didn't stop the pain she felt on the inside. Her yellow eyes still burned to this day, a sign of how her step towards the dakside and no longer doubting it's power were complete.
But it had not been enough. She was still a knight, and Taeli Rae was a master level Sith Lady. Darth Raven felt the need to be stronger. She needed to be the next time they met. That was why she was here, in the Sith archives, trying to find anything and everything to help her learn. The library itself was mostly quiet and deserted, only Raven herself and a few of the servants and perhaps a few apprentices. But given the anger in her heart it was clear Raven had wanted to be alone, which was why no one was going near her as she read deeply into her books.

Samantha moved along the archives in a slow, methodical pace. Words blending and files moving before he hand and eyes at a pace in which she had come to do almost by second thought. Her work sped up by the AI known as Eve as it grinned at her from the datapad and archived the files that Samantha was going through for study. There was alot, no more than alot. There was such a number that Samantha was having a hard time separating which was which in her life after the recent weeks and she had recently just given up her rights to Krayt in secret. Now she was simply Balaya's daughter and that was a shadow that was cast farther than any other had been before. The size of the woman's chest certainly helped create that Shadow she thought to herself as she smiled.

Then the body of a woman she vaguely remembered appeared to her eye, looking at her for a moment she spoke to the AI. "Eve, archive that last file for me, i have a curiosity." She turned her head towards the woman again and started to move slowly over to her. She noticed those moving around and away from Darth Raven, but Samantha was only curious. "What are you studying?" She asked without hesitation, only curiosity filling her more widely with the words out there.

Raven's attention was taken by the arrival of a young girl. She looked up to her, her burning yellow eyes peering at her like those of a hawk. At first she'd wanted to tell her to leave and yet she realized this girl wasn't as afraid of her as the others. Or perhaps she was just doing her best to hide it. Either way she didn't shrink or move away as everyone else had.
Looking back to her book she answered "Looking into old Sith Alchemy and magic. I suppose it might seem silly, but these properties can be just as empowering as the force. So long as you put your mind to it." When she looked back she gave an odd looking to her before asking "Have we met? There's something....familiar about you."

Samantha listened to the words and stared at the yellow eyes for a moment before smiling as she spoke herself. "Alchemy has its uses, especially in the creation of creatures bred for war or otherwise. Imagine it like playing god, something worth knowing, but maybe not worth practicing... then again the life created do tend to have its uses..." She smiled as she leaned forward over the back of a chair that resided on the other side of the table.

"As for if we know eachother... hmm. I don't recall ever meeting you but the familiar feeling is mutual. Maybe you are a ally of my mother's? Shes Zelzilla. You know, the thirteen foot Sith Lord that moves about the halls and looks like a poke will topple her over." The amount of fear coming off her at talking about the woman that was legally her mother like that seemed... non-existent. As if she feared no harm for the words, then again she also seemed to be studying Darth Raven's reaction too. "Samantha Zambrano, do you mind if i ask who you are my lady..." She had already assumed this woman was not an apprentice.

Both of her answers were rather interesting to Raven. This girl understood the advantages to alchemy and how it was almost like playing god when it came to creating things. Raven had known the full potential when she herself had created an army of Sith familiars that current dwelt within her own shadow. And then there was was the fact she was the daughter of a rather powerful Sith lord whom she'd met but once. But that was where more familiarity came from ti seemed. And she'd even called her 'lady', how proper. She was beginning to like this girl.
"Darth Raven." she introduced herself. "I can see, given who your mother is, that you've a strong connection to the darkside."

[member="Darth Raven"]

"Not exactly. Daughter in name but not in blood... the skin and hair difference kind of gives away that fact... May i sit?" She would wait for an answer to the question before speaking again. If given permission she would sit, if she was not... then well she wouldn't. Simple wasn't it? "I am actually a clone, given a portion of my progenitor's memories and thoughts, but not all of them. I was actually more a gift... and test for my mother. To see if she was just a Sith lady or if she could become an maternal influence... But that is boring. Perhaps you can tell me about what you learned from the text my lady?"

When asked to sit Raven gestured for her to do so. Hearing her explain more about her origins, being more of a clone than anything else, had clarified a few things for her. Still she could sense power from this girl, and s deeper sense of something. A want to learn. Something Raven knew as well, being that was her drive even when she was with the Jedi as a padawan. She only nodded while giving a bemused look to [member="Samantha Zambrano"] as she contemplated a few things.
To answer her she said "Nothing that I've not already learned a great deal about while I've dabbled. I was only checking a few things. I wasn't sure if my mas....my former teacher was holding something back from me." she said, hesitating on the word master.

[member="Darth Raven"]

"Former teacher? And who was that if i might ask?" She was curious now, atleast more so than before and the way that the word was said seemed to hold hesitation. What was it that this woman was so keen on not finishing. It sounded like she had been about to say master but she had not wanted to. It was curious to Samantha and she couldn't help herself as she stared at her own datapad and thought for a moment before wondering what it was that would come from Raven's mouth.

Raven had looked away before answering "I knew her as Darth Arcanix. But others mainly knew her as Taeli Rae. But...she's gone now." She shook her head, thinking back to the events that had turned her so sour and wanting of power. She didn't want to think back to the fight she lost against her, even after giving everything she had. It was more of a rage-fueled rumble than anything else. She finally looked back to [member="Samantha Zambrano"] and said "But never mind any of that. I have a question for you: what made you so curious to come and speak with me?"

[member="Darth Raven"]

"Ahhh. Yes Taeli. She was a agreeable kind of person. I wonder what shes been doing lately... shame to hear shes not here anymore. But shes an academic kind of person, so im sure she will be back." She leaned forward a bit on her hands. "You seemed.. different. Like Taeli was. Someone i can agree with in the realm of our purpose... Its hard to explain but i had a good feeling about it so to say. A Gut feeling that told me you were new, interesting. Like any knowledge."

Darth Raven didn't know how to feel. She had an odd sensation at being compared to Taeli, a person she had loved and now hated. She was more like to her than she apparently realized. Was that because of her training, or had she been like this before? It made her think if she was wrong to have fought her if it meant becoming like her in the end. It only angered her to where she slammed her fist on the table, a loud echoing bang that filled the room. Her eyes looked [member="Samantha Zambrano"] as if ready to brun a hole through her skull. Her yellow eyes and dark lining around them were reminiscent of Darth Bane or Zannah. After a moment, however, she calmed and relaxed herself.
"You seem smart, my dear. But in the future, I suggest refraining from comparing me to Taeli Rae." After a deep breath she looked back and said "However your more curious nature I find...familiar. I was much like you in fact. I still am. I seek to know anything and everything I can. For in knowledge there is strength. And in understanding strength comes power. And the Sith strive for power, much as you and I do."

[member="Darth Raven"]

"My apologies... i had meant it as a compliment... i can tell that you do not consider it as such." She looked at the woman for a few seconds as several words crossed through her mind. 'What in the world did you do this time Taeli...' Was all she could think as she sat there and then watched the woman look back at her and leaned forward as she in her seat to rest her chin in her hands. "I see... i must say you have a very straight forward way about looking at it. Though i am curious about something my lady... what happens when the knowledge is all yours and you have become satisfied." She was curious about this, Sith had always made her curious about this one fact and even mother seemed to wave away that thought. What did they think about ever being satisfied with the power they had come to achieve. What did they do if ever that time came.

Raven had to nod and give [member="Samantha Zambrano"] that basically said "good question". She seemed smarter than most acolytes in the temple, at least ones that she had met. To answer though, she said "I think to be satisfied is it's own reward, my dear. It's human nature to never be fully satisfied, only content with how much you have. I think were I able to gain any and all knowledge in the galaxy, or for that matter the universe, I'd basically be a celestial being by then. Suffice to say that when I acquire all the knowledge I need the I will be content in knowing I've become a strong and powerful Sith."

Sam stared at the woman for a few long moments, saying nothing, doing nothing. Her body was motionless and her breath slow and careful. She made no move that would indicate anything more than simply thinking before the smile on her face grew wider yet. "I do believe that you and I agree on more than a few things my lady, though i must say that there is even more that such a being can learn. The knowledge of the universe is endless just as the universe itself is, there is always more you can do and learn after all and anyone that says differently is shortsighted... would you not agree my lady?"

"I'd call them foolish." she smirked. "But the true fool is one who decides to never fully understand. But then there are those, like us, who want to. Because we know what comes from understanding." She leaned back and smirked a little more at [member="Samantha Zambrano"] before saying "Tell me, my dear, who is your master? I feel as though I'd like to meet them if they're inclined to teach you such things."

[member="Darth Raven"]

"I don't actually have one, i do most of my research alone using the access codes provided to me by my mother. It could be considered boring and stagnant to others but the research is rewarding in that i am able to understand things to a much higher degree than those that spend their time swinging a sword around for hours. Granted i understand the need for self defense but there is so much someone could learn that the blade disinterests me..."

An eyebrow perked as Darth Raven heard her answer. So intuitive on her own, and without a master for direction. [member="Samantha Zambrano"] showed a lot of promise it seemed. With a little nod she said "Well that settles that then." Standing she declared "We can begin tomorrow. I'll have a number of trials set and ready. And the best part is that everything can be done right here in the Sith temple. Congratulations....my new apprentice." her eyes beamed as she said it.

Smantha blinked, staring at the woman for a few seconds before her brow rose slightly. She was interested in the prospect and she had an idea that it wasn't really a offer much less a command. She wasn't exactly worried.. infact the amount of worry in her was minimal at best as her confidence was something she never discounted. There was one thing though. "Trials? Might i know what these would included my la- master?" She crossed her hands on the table. So curious yet so... anxious too on the inside to take up this challenge.

"Yes." Raven smirked. "Your master. And the trials you will endure will be one that I had gone through myself. I will teach you all that I know. And then, together, we will learn so much more." A little chuckle was in her throat before she turned to leave, saying "I will see you tomorrow morning within the training grounds. Don't be late, my dear." before making her way out of the library altogether.

Samantha watched her leave and simply bowed her head as her own smile ran across her face. It was a wide one, filled with confidence and without reason as to why she was smiling. But the chance to attain further knowledge was all the reason in the world for her to think about it now. So for now, she would sit there and think, waiting until the time came for her to retire as well. The Next day was going to be more than interesting.
