BIOGRAPHY:
Born on the desert planet of Korath, Ta was destined/doomed to the life of almost all Korathians. At the age of 8 he was sent alongside his 3 siblings to work in the scrap factories of his parents employers. The Gharashi syndicate was one of the many companies on Korath that practically owned the Enclave it resided in, and the people that worked for it. Inside the smoldering factory, Ta worked for 16 years. Spending his days pounding red hot metal into plates that would be sold again as re-purposed sheets. The bite of this foreman's whip dug deep into him, a consequence for day dreaming. What really woke him from his daze was the low yells of a female Korathian next to him. Her hand was caught under the conveyor belt and it was being torn to shreds. Instead of helping her, the foreman only barked at her harder and whipped her back mercilessly.
Despite his best efforts to drown out the noise, Ta snapped. Angered at the senseless sadism that the Foreman showed, Ta grabbed him by the arm and pulled the whip from his hand. While he struggles to remember it clearly, he knows that after the red haze had settled the Foreman was dead and the whip and Ta was covered in his dark black ichor.
He soon found himself being dragged up to the overlooking office of one of the company chairmen. His head hung low in shame for killing one of those he swore to serve, Ta expected death. Instead however he was given life. The chairmen saw the ferocity that Ta had fought with but knew he could not allow him to stay, lest he spark rebellion. So he appointed him the position of Cho' Zha' Ya. More commonly referred to as a scavenger by those not familiar with the Korathi language. He would be given a refurbished S81 Omicron Shuttle and a crew of two other Korathians, Kho' Zha' Lha and Kho' Zha' Fra, and tasked with acquiring new sources of scrap and income for the Gharashi family.
Since then he has been scouting out all corners of the galaxy, collecting scrap, valuable artifacts and technology, and escorting them back to Korath. Over time, his combat skills, negotiation techniques, and knowledge of the global affairs has steadily improved. His future is only a matter of what elusive piece of treasure will catch his eye next.
During this whole process the thought of his people has always been on his mind, they currently slave away under the boot of their corporate owners. Their culture and technology stagnant from the isolation and restriction imposed by the various companies, specifically the Gharashi Syndicate. While he is now little more than their pawn, he keeps his eyes set on the day when he can overthrow their corrupt reign and break the shackles of his kin.
SHIP:
The Burning Star has been Ta's ship for the past 4 years and has been with him every step of his journey.
It has been modified to contain a medium sized Ion cannon that can be used to stun the computer and mechanical systems of other ships. Due to the fact that it had been 'Comandeered' by the Gharashi family from its original owner and its life as a salvage vessel it has undergone extensive alterations by Korathian engineers, who have no idea about the proper maintenance and care of foreign vessels. The light armor of the shuttle has been covered with a number of metallic plates of scrap that somewhat can improve its armor level, but mostly just protects against the natural environment such as asteroids or harsh planet conditions.
The life support system regulates the temperature at a smoldering heat, similar to the desert sun of Korath in order to keep the body temperature of its passengers high. To prevent tampering it has been locked at this setting.
