  Kharuna grew up in a family of smugglers, on the wrong side of the law. She has developed a staunch sense of “right”. That said she is still a youngster and is very lighthearted when not being tasked with keeping order in the Empire.

  Instinctive Pilot: Tactics are not her strong suit. She flies by the seat of her pants and usually that ends up for the better.
  Kin to Machine: Kharuna is so good with machines some think that she secretly is one. This kinship makes her very adept at fixing things.

  STORY SO FAR​
  Kharuna Tan grew up a happy girl, until she was old enough to know what it was that her family did to make credits. Her mother was taken by law enforcement in Sith space and died while in custody. The family took a short time to mourn her death and took off to the far side of the galaxy. After a short uneventful period of running transports for the Hutts, the Tan family found a third party that paid very well for relief supplies to be smuggled into the Empire of the Lost’s expanding territories.
  
  Things went well for almost a year. The family was taking in so many credits that Kharuna’s father promised they needed only one more job and then they could find a real place to settle down and maybe think about some respectable work. At the very least he promised a vacation to Glee Anselm to visit family. But first they needed to make a supply drop on Mon Cala.
  
  The family thought the only thing to deal with was the new Quarren government, which didn’t seem to have taken firm control of the system yet. They underestimated the newly appointed sector Moff Teckla Tane and her security forces. Though Kharuna’s father, aunt and cousin managed to escape capture, Kharuna and her uncle were not so lucky. Where Kharuna did happen to get lucky was that the Moff herself happened to be present in the customs security building when Kharuna was being questioned. The Moff sensed Kharuna’s gifts and ushered her out of the hands of Quarren Security.
  
  Once in private, the Moff played on Kharuna’s fear. Played on the fact that Kharuna wished to be something different than she was. Teckla Tane offered Kharuna a way out of the life of crime. And Kharuna took it. Moff Tane secretly tested the young woman in the Force. Finding Kharuna to be quite a little savant in certain areas, Kharuna became Tane’s apprentice. Soon, Teckla Tane would add another title to her name. Grand Master of the Imperial Crusaders. And Kharuna would be her squire.
