Kema’ira’sabosen, also known as Ira, is a slender, young, Chiss woman. As with all other Chiss, she has skin which is deep blue in color, jarring red eyes, and black hair. Her facial features are notably rounded, giving her face a softer appearance when compared to the harshly angled features of other members of her species. Ira is twenty-eight years old, though she always appeared somewhat younger than her actual age. Ira is meticulous in her appearance, and dresses either in an occasion appropriate version of her uniform, or alternatively, in wardrobes painstakingly selected for their luxury and elegance. Part of her characteristic style, when out of uniform, is jewelry, and she is known to possess a vast collection of exquisite pieces which she works into her outfits. It is rumored she has never worn the same piece twice.

Dignified (+): Ira was raised by the very finest of families and was expected to behave accordingly. Even from childhood, she has made it a point to always be poised and proper- this trait has only been intensified following her joining the military. Today, she practically exudes good breeding and sophistication. This allows her to integrate herself into the very highest social circles with relative ease, and makes her a perfect choice for diplomatic or political summits. This same sense of dignity also ensures that Ira maintains a cool, collected composure even in the most dire of circumstances; affording her levelheadedness when it matters most.

Just (+): Ira was indoctrinated from a very young age to be above reproach, this included treating those around her, especially her inferiors, with fairness and courtesy. She is absolutely intolerant of arbitrariness and is a resolute opponent to all injustices, no matter how small. She is not afraid to confront and combat wrongs when she encounters them. This was a trait especially popular among the troops working under her and she quickly earned a reputation for being ‘hard but fair,’ a reputation that still means a great deal to her today. She takes reports of others very seriously, and if an individual has a reputation for treating others unfairly, she losses respect for them without ever having met the person in question.

Respectful (+/-): Ira was raised with a profound respect for the social hierarchy, a respect even stronger than that common to members of her race. This ingrained respect, along with other traits, ensured that she would excel in the armed forces and she was known for being the officer members of the high command could rely upon to carry out orders others would find questionable. However, whenever two authorities give her contradictory orders she is faced with a crisis not easily resolved; this has been most significant when orders given by a social authority and official authority have conflicted. In these cases, she has acted based on a mixture of personal conviction and the longevity of her relationship with the authority.

Supremacist (-): Ira was born into a family that had never accepted the reduced prevalence and independence of the Ascendency. Further, it was important to her family that these views be passed down to their children. As a result, Ira has internalized an aloof arrogance when dealing with other species and, especially, droids and Force users. This has resulted in her having no acquaintances to speak of from outside her own race and is also served to limit her advancement, both socially and professionally, among those Chiss who are more liberal in their racial views. This, however, has never bothered her- and she is quick to conclude that Chiss who oppose her bigotry are simply ‘race-traitors.’

Relentless (-): If death is an inevitability, then it must also be an opportunity. Ira does not shy away from the possibility of dying and believes that it is better to die in service to the greater good than to selfishly horde away your days. While she does not charge forward into death, the risk of high fatalities will not be a dominant factor in her decision making. This callousness extends to herself and her troops. As a result, she found difficulties in being awarded commands as she was willing to stand and fight as long as her vessels were capable of firing. While admirable, and sometimes necessary, this kind of thinking is not generally a trait desired in the upper echelons of command.

Strategist (+): Ira has been carefully trained to see the bigger picture. She has a good mind for strategy both in a battle and more broadly. From her upbringing and her training, she has learned that security comes only from absolute control of your surroundings. This is a doctrine that she has held to firmly since childhood and one she seeks to implement in combat situations, she will seek to account for every variable and plan for every contingency and when she has done so- forcing the enemy to fight on her battlefield. Though impossible to ever truly implement, it is the philosophy which guides her interactions both on and off the field.

cooltext255110596782553.png

Politically Inclined (+): Ira’s privileged upbringing ensured that she had a complete and extensive education in the subjects of politics, influence, and power. She has learned to observe those around her carefully and speaks the language of the elite and trades in the currency of the influential. This has allowed her to increase her station in life even where faults would otherwise have held her back. Further, Ira is completely dedicated to her people and her nation and never attempts to utilize her political skill for personal gain, but rather, pursues what she believes to be the greatest good without reservation.

cooltext255110674781540.png

Devoted (+/-): Ira has been taught that the Chiss are the preeminent civilization in the galaxy and she is committed to that belief unquestioningly. This translates into a total conviction in every aspect of her service. She grants to her superiors an almost divine status, believing that even if an order seems tactically unsound or ethically intolerable, that these concerns are alleviated with the additional information the higher-ups most possess. Her devotion, does however, allow her to act with total confidence and is something of an inspiration to the men under her command. It also allows her to endure any hardship more easily than she otherwise might, as she believes she is suffering for a grand cause that transcends herself.

cooltext255110749780761.png

Fighter (-): Ira belongs on a bridge, not the battlefield. While she has carefully kept herself well within the military’s expected physical fitness, she’s hardly a warrior. Hand-to-hand combat is a concept so utterly foreign to her that she has no business engaging in it even against the laity, let alone against the well-trained combat forces of the world. In the event that she finds herself in a physical confrontation, her only hope will be that one more inclined to the physical arts comes to her aid as she will be next to incapable of defending herself.

cooltext255110813617018.png

Anxious (-): Even as a little girl, Ira was under a great deal of pressure. As she matured, this pressure intensified and eventually helped to form a deep-seated sense of anxiety in the young woman. Fortunately, she has learned- over time- to mitigate this general sense of worry. However, extremely stressful situations can trigger acute symptoms which are generally debilitating. Additionally, these same symptoms can occur without a clear trigger; these are generally worse than those which could be foreseen as she has less time to prepare and combat the feelings. Most damaging, however, is that Ira feels that this anxiety is a cause for great shame and her fear that it will be revealed or cause her to fail in her duties contributes to her generally anxious state.

Born into a prominent and wealthy family on Csilla, Kema’ira’sabosen was believed to be destined to mature into a potent and influential figure in her own right. From a young age, her parents instilled in her the values of justice, compassion, and restraint. Ira’s father was a lofty, widely respected jurist known to have political ambitions. Her mother was an intelligent and worldly physician who had served as at the provincial level as health minister. Due to her parent’s vaulted positions, Ira grew up surrounded by the elite of Csilla. Specifically, both her mother and father were prominent members in the secret society referred to as the Ascendants. The members of this organization chaffed at the Ascendency’s subservient position to the Iron Empire and longed for return of those days when the Chiss Ascendancy was once again a respected, independent, galactic power.

At the impressionable age of five, Ira was sent to a large subterranean boarding school on the icy, Chiss home world which was ran and populated exclusively by Ascendants or those sympathetic to their views. It was here that Ira received an education rivaling any in the Ascendancy, and surpassing most in the galaxy. She studied for several years to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue the judiciary, having always favored her father above all others. She earned high marks while at this elite academy and was fully indoctrinated into the proud heritage of the Chiss. It was here that she learned to place duty above desire and also learned that outsiders could not be trusted; after all, it had been the Ascendancy’s willingness to trust the Iron Empire in the wake of the One Sith that had reduced their once great nation to mere puppets.

After six years of study, she was prepared to enter the world of higher education to pursue her dreams of practicing in the legal profession. However, before she had selected an educational institution to attend, her father advised her to turn her attention, instead, to the armed forces. Her father was finally pursuing a political career and would be made lieutenant governor of a colony and felt he would need more support from traditionally militant families to flourish. Accepting her duty, she enlisted in the academy at the age of eleven. She excelled while at the academy, being assigned to an elite cadet squadron before eventually being given an officer role in the same. When she graduated nine years later it was as a commissioned officer and she left to join the fleet. Her time in the fleet featured quick promotions- due to her exemplary performance at the academy, her sharp intellect, her popularity amongst the enlisted, and her family’s growing prominence. Indeed, captains and admirals agreed that she was destined for greatness.

Ira was never given a command of her own, but was afforded the ability to serve as first officer on one of the newer and more powerful ships in the fleet. Here, more than anywhere else, she learned the finer points of command and space combat. Unfortunately, it was also here that her ambitions would be curtailed. Her father contacted her while she was acting as XO and informed her that the Ascendants had orchestrated a plot which would see the outsiders expelled from Chiss space and told her that in order for this plan to succeed, she would need to seize the ship she was serving on and use it to assist in the coming coup. Though initially conflicted, she eventually agreed and made plans with sympathetic officers to take the ship. However, before their plot could come to fruition, the government discovered the Ascendant plot and began detaining members. It was only the fact that Ira was not a formal member that spared her immediate arrest, granting her just enough respite to steal a shuttle and flee the Iron Empire. Now, she wanders space, hoping one day to see an independent Chiss faction rise once more to claim the rightful place of her people in the galaxy.
