Keg'rala Voontara Fa'athra
The Scrap Master of Nar Vaadu

Age: 648
Species: Hutt
Gender: Hermaphrodite, male behavior and identification
Height: 11 feet
Weight: 3 tons
Force Sensitive: NO

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Keg'rala is rather large, even in terms of Hutt standards. His girth and height make him an incredibly imposing figure to encounter. Additionally, his dark back coloring, nearly charcoal-black in color, along with his burning red eyes add to this intimidating appearance. His physique is consistent with that of Hutts. However, he is missing his left arm. No one knows if it is from an accident, an assassination attempt, or a birth defect. The prosthetic ends with a bladed claw, which is far more decorative than actually a weapon or something to use for grabbing things. This cybernetic arm is engraved with the sigil of his Clan. He also wears a collar across his shoulders as ornamentation. He then often wears an analytical, stoic, and regal expression. One may see it as arrogance, while others see it as studying the world around him, and mentally dissecting whoever stands before him.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Keg'rala is quiet, and taciturn for a Hutt. He spends most his time isolated from much of his kind, and has been regarded as a recluse for much of his life. Thus, he has a rather cynical nature in regards to the rest of the galaxy and even members of his own kind. One could certainly describe him as a crumudgeon Hutt, while not being entirely old for Hutt standards. He posseses a great level of arrogance, while also a desire to gain as much control as possible in all things he is in. He enjoys machines, and sees them to be far more trustworthy than organic beings, which makes him inclined to surround himself with droids that are programed to never disobey his orders. Meanwhile, he lets very few organic beings, even heavily modified organic beings, to enter his inner circle due to their potential for treachery. Thus shows an aspect of paranoia that he has, that likely shapes much of how he rules the planet he has establsihed himself on. He is one to not want to seize power, but rather posess much power in the background.

STRENGTHS
  • Hutt Racial Strengths: Keg'rala posesses all the benefits his species has.
    • Hardy body
    • Regenerative Abilities
    • Mental Acuity
  • Shrewd: Keg'rala is very shrewd when it comes to both business and ruling, making him cunning as a Hutt Lord.
  • Perks of Wealth: Keg'rala is extremely wealthy when it comes to those who live in the vicinity of Hutt Space, allowing him to live a life of luxury and comfort despite not being the wealthiest of Hutt Lords.

WEAKNESSES
  • Hutt Racial Weaknesses: Corpulance and slow movement make for tremendous weaknesses given to Keg'rala from his species.
  • Paranoid of Organics: Keg'rala does not trust flesh-and-blood servants much at all due to their potential for treachery, and prefers obedient droids to do his bidding.
    • Makes hiring subjects difficult, as even heavily modified organic beings may be too much trouble for him to employ as well.
    • Droids must be produced or purchased, causing his taste in servants to be a potential cost on his part greater than simply hiring mercnaries and underworlders.
  • Arrogant: Arrogance is by no means uncommon among Hutts, however Keg'rala posseses arrogance to a level that makes him borderline reclusive from the outside galaxy.

HISTORY

Keg'rala comes from a Hutt Clan that has long been considered as outcasts in Hutt society. In distant history, in the times of the Galactic Cold War, this clan was prodiginated by a Hutt named Voontara Fa'athra (Fa'athra the Hutt more commonly). Voontara lost all standing with the rest of the Hutt Cartel after his war with Suudaa Nem'ro where the Fa'athra Clan was driven from Nal Hutta in shame. Since then, Voontara would try to recoup his losses on other worlds, but no avail as he and his Clan were deemed as paraias, and Fa'athra the Hutt himself would meet his end on Voss. Unknown to all outside of the innermost circle to Voontara Fa'athra, the Hutt outcast produced an heir to his dynasty. While the years were never kind to the heir, as the former staff of Fa'athra's gang scrambled to maintain some area of profitability. All the while, rivals to the Fa'athra Clan made much effort to ensure that they were not welcome on the more profitable Hutt worlds since those times. It was not uncommon as well for more respected clans to muscle in on the Fa'athra remant's operations for the thousands of years leading up until the present time (as of this post). While Voontara Fa'athra has been dead for thousands of years, the stain to the honor of the Clan he produced would remain even until the time when Keg'rala would inherit the estate.

In his youth, Keg'rala managed to allow his Clan to have some bit of dignity in making credits by running a chop-shop operation in the lowest levels of Nar-Shaddaa. Thieves from all over the Smuggler's Moon would take speeders and then sell them to Keg'rala's operation. From there, those speeders would either be sold as scrap metal and spare parts on the black market, or be sold to the highest bidder among the population of such areas of Nar Shaddaa. For nearly three centuries, this operation went unimpeded, until one group of ambitious thieves stole an entire sail barge from one of the main Clans of the moon. Knowing full and well that this would not end well no matter if it was scrapped or sold with his Clan's name, Keg'rala immediately turned the thieves and their sail barge away and started his escape from Nar-Shaddaa. Under the cover of night, and not using any major space ports on the city-moon, Keg'rala did manage to escape. However, a large shootout would erupt during it as his rivals were trying to take advantage of him fleeing with his tail tucked between his legs. It was truly embarassing for the young Hutt. He would be sure to never have that repeat itself from that point forward.

Keg'rala knew he needed to find somewhere obscure but still profitable. It was then that he discovered the junkyard world of Hutt Space, Nar Vaadu. For years, it was treated as a backwater akin to that of Lotho Minor in the Unknown Regions. However, numerous Junk Lords managed to make a living dealing scrap from the planet's surface and selling dumping rights to whoever is willing to pay. The obscurity of this world made it the prime refuge from the heat that would follow him from Nar Shadaa, and the junk trade on that world allowed for his Clan to still be making credits while in relative hiding. Keg'rala would leverage his wealth to gain a place among the Junk Lords. That, alongside the entire might of a small Hutt Clan which, despite being greatly weakened, still managed to outgun the local crimelords that made operations selling their wares on an orbiting station. In the following decades, Keg'rala would begin hostily taking over and assimilating the assets of the other Junk Lords until it was only his cartel dominating the trade on Nar Vaadu. Affairs on such a planet were too small for the rest of the Hutt Clans to care anything about, and Keg'rala made sure to maintain the deals as they were under the other Junk Lords to ensure none of the Clans who utilized the dumping rights on the planet would get upset. All the while, the other Clans were satisfied to see the Fa'athra wallowing in the useless garbage world rather than holding any profitable significance on the more culturally important worlds of Hutt Space.

Following his takeover of the Junk Lords, Keg'rala proclaimed himself as the Scrap Master of Nar Vaadu with his organization being the only operation running the junkyard world of Hutt Space. No one disputed it, and to this day more people know of him more as "the Scrap Master" than his own name. As he dominated all business related to the planet, Keg'rala's ambition wanted to be sated more. He wanted a proper stronghold rather than some scummy space station orbiting a junkyard planet. It was then he had a plan to turn Nar Vaadu into the new hub of Fa'athra activity beyond it being a refuge. Centuries would pass, and suddenly a new cityscape was made on Nar Vaadu's surface, with a grand palace for the Scrap Master at its center. This city had sky scrapers like that of Nar Shaddaa, all the while factories, a shipyard, and numerous smelting facilities dotted the rest of the cityscape's lower levels. While officially named "Voontara City," it is more commonly known as "Scrap City," and is seen as a grimier version of Nar Shaddaa. Through this, the Fa'athra Clan took up new business of producing ships for the black market alongside using it to defend the planet from any of Keg'rala's rivals. Processing of scrap quadrupled, making Nar Vaadu a prime place for disposing of things one would not want found. Stolen ships may be taken to Nar Vaadu to be broken down while bodies would be tossed into garbage heeps never to be found. Scrap City also created a space where those who were considered outcast on Nar Shaddaa, or were on the run in other parts, were able to find a refuge they could disapear in. All the while, Keg'rala's treasury filled up ever more with all the business that started to come his way. Through him, the Fa'athra name will be redeemed, and he may finally attain true power among the Hutts for once.
