Of course the amount found on the ship will never be enough to completely cover another ship’s shielding, but it is capable of preventing a few critical strikes from turbolasers and such.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Apart from that, the ship is standard in most meanings of the word. It is designed to supplement a fleet with a sizeable armament and be able to keep its own against ships of its own class. Some would say it is more a support vessel than anything else, as a large portion of it is dedicated to holding medical bays and it is commonly used to rescue crew abandoning nearby ships by sending out transports and protecting them with the aforementioned shielding devices.
