- Built to Last: Fortified with quadanium and reinforced by ablative turadium plating and an advanced shield mesh, Aliit'ranov is exceptionally well-defended- built to endure bombardments and protect generations of Mandalorians within.
- Built to Support: Eleven hangar allocations support a range of starfighters and support craft- not for warfare, but to maintain clan logistics, assist allied vessels, and provide safe refuge for inbound family ships and visitors.
- Built to Survive: With a functioning foundry core, modular workshops, and full-cycle repair bays, the homeship operates independently for extended periods, fulfilling all industrial and technical needs from within.
- Built to Teach: The presence of a Cultural Archive, Training Annex, and Forge positions Aliit'ranov as a spiritual, historical, and pedagogical center- preserving and passing down the soul of the clan.
- Poor Combat Capability: Despite its heavy cruiser classification, Aliit'ranov is not designed for deployment or offensive warfare. Its low armament means it relies on escort vessels and support fleets when threatened.
- Poor Speed & Maneuverability: Built for stability and longevity, not tactical mobility, the homeship moves slowly and responds sluggishly to threats- making strategic relocation a deliberate process, not a quick reaction.
- Poor Hyperdrive: Equipped with a Class 3 hyperdrive, Aliit'ranov is capable of interstellar travel but is far from fast, making tactical jumps or evasive maneuvers impractical.
- Poor Visibility: As a large, visible, and culturally significant vessel, Aliit'ranov is a symbolic asset for Clan Toss- and a potential high-value target for enemies, requiring constant vigilance and perimeter protection.
Aliit'ranov, or "Clan's Soul," is the ancestral homeship of Clan Toss, a towering testament to Mandalorian resilience and tradition. Stretching nearly 1,000 meters in length, this heavy cruiser is unmistakable with its sleek, angular grey hull and a distinctive hammerhead design perched at the front-top of the vessel. Its exterior reflects meticulous care and upkeep, a clear indication of the clan's reverence for their heritage and the vessel itself. Maintained with the highest quality materials- quadanium hull components, turadium ablative plating, and an alusteel frame- it is designed to endure the harshest conditions, embodying the clan's enduring spirit.
Unlike most capital ships designed for war or rapid deployment, Aliit'ranov serves an altogether different, far more profound purpose. It does not engage in combat operations nor does it deploy on missions. Instead, it functions as a sanctuary, a mobile fortress of culture and craft, drifting steadily through space as a living repository of Clan Toss' history, skills, and values. The ship acts as a protective ark that preserves the soul of the clan- its traditions, knowledge, and identity- across generations.
Though now a refined and striking presence in space, Aliit'ranov began as an ancient hull- an aging utility cruiser salvaged generations ago and rebuilt piece by piece. Over decades, it has been continuously retrofitted and reshaped, layer by layer, with clan-built upgrades, lending it a unique fusion of clean-lined aesthetics and deep structural complexity. This evolution reflects the clan's engineering values: not sleek for vanity, but for efficiency, serviceability, and pride in workmanship.
The ship's interior prioritizes long-term habitation- family quarters are spacious and modular, allowing each unit to comfortably raise children & foundlings with privacy and dignity. The bulk of the vessel, however, is dedicated to its industrial purpose: fabrication bays, salvage processing, heavy storage, and the forge all dominate the ship's volume, making Aliit'ranov not just a home, but a working engine of clan survival.
At the heart of the ship lies the Foundry Core, a vast industrial complex where raw, often salvaged, materials are transformed & recycled into the tools, components, and weaponry vital to the clan's survival and craftsmanship. This is complemented by the Workshop Network, a labyrinth of mobile forges, mechanical shops, and droid repair bays where artisans, technicians, and engineers hone their craft. This network supports both the clan's own logistical needs and the upkeep of the ships and vehicles they rely on.
The Cultural Archive is another cornerstone of Aliit'ranov- a secured vault housing ancestral records, holorecords, relics, and teachings. Here, every Mandalorian of the Toss lineage can connect with their past, drawing strength and inspiration from centuries of history. The archive, along with the Training Annex, serves as an educational hub where elders impart tactical, technical, and cultural knowledge to younger generations, ensuring the unbroken transmission of clan lore and expertise.
Repair & Refit Facilities enable the homeship to serve as a vital support hub for allied vessels and visiting craft, maintaining a constant state of readiness even while never venturing into active battle. The Field Engineering Lab focuses on innovation and adaptation, where experimental technologies and prototypes are developed to meet the unpredictable demands of frontier environments.
The ship's defenses are formidable, with extreme armor and shielding ratings that provide unmatched protection. Its Shield Mesh Network consists of a sophisticated grid of overlapping shield nodes that dynamically protect critical sections of the ship, underscoring its role as a bastion rather than a weapon. Its armament is deliberately light, favoring survivability over offense, with the expectation that escort ships will handle direct confrontations.
Aliit'ranov's extensive hangar bays can house up to 11 squadrons of fighters and support craft, including four squadrons of starfighters and seven of shuttles, gunships, and auxiliary vessels. This capacity allows it to support a sizable contingent of clan warriors, engineers, and traders who come and go as part of the clan's daily life and upkeep.
The ship's internal design reflects its cultural mission: broad habitat zones offer living space for multiple generations, medbays with triage support keep the clan healthy, while internal transit rails and cargo lifts ensure efficient movement of personnel and materials. The Mandalorian Forge serves as a spiritual heart, a sacred place where the clan's warriors reaffirm their vows and honor their ancestors with their craft.
Its Class 3 hyperdrive provides interstellar travel capability, but speed and maneuverability are intentionally limited; this vessel is not built for rapid response or tactical deployment, but rather for longevity and steadfast presence. It moves deliberately, symbolizing stability in a galaxy rife with conflict and change.
As the ancestral home of Clan Toss, Aliit'ranov is more than a ship- it is the embodiment of the clan's soul. A living monument, a forge of heritage, and a guardian of future generations. It stands apart from the chaos of war, not as a weapon, but as the beating heart of a proud and enduring Mandalorian family.
