HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Kathol, who are also known as the Precursors, Life givers, or Cthol, were an ancient race who once lived on the lost planet of Kathol. They believed to be descendants of the Old Ones, the original inhabitants of the Kathol sector lost to time. Kathol and the Aing-tii are believed to the only two elder races created by the Old Ones left in the galaxy. Both possesses organic technology and are highly advanced civilizations. Thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin, several Dark Jedi attempted to conquer the Kathol and were almost succeeded. After losing a series of battles the Kathol race were on the verge of defeat and were almost wiped out.

Seeking to preserve their lives and their race most of the remaining Kathol were able to store themselves in the Lifewell, a creation of their design that was guarded by a creature of their creation named the DarkStryder. Unfortunately, DarkStryder refused to release the Kathol after the danger had passed, and the Kathol were trapped in a form of limbo, their life force becaming the mystical Ta-Ree energy which he used to his own selfish purposes for millennia.

Only after DarkStryder was destroyed by the crew of the FarStar were the Kathol freed. However, they were unable to reclaim corporeal form, and instead chose to dissipate themselves. A few hundred decided to live, but were constantly at odds with each other.

Member of the court

This divide continued to manifest itself for over the next few centuries. Soon the Kathol began to divide into two sects. The first being a group calling themselves “the court”. Obsessed with order and preserving as much of their past as they can this group used their advanced technology of growing advanced biological machines and other sentient species to influence the “younger races” in the kathol.

Member of the “Fiery ones”

The other sect of the Kathol are an unorganised group of being calling themselves the “fiery ones”. They are the embodiment of creative but chaotic ways of the Kathol. Believing the force and the young race known as Humans is responsible for their downfall they are determined to bring ruin and destruction to all who they feel have wrong the Kathol race. Working in the shadows they try to convince whoever they can through bribery, temptation or flat out intimidation to obey them and carry out their destructive wishes.

Followers -

Without Physical forms the Kathol are reliant on other corporeal races to carry out their whims. These followers are often granted many gifts such as training in the Kathol’s organic technology, wisdom and history passed down from millennia, and maybe their most powerful gift, access to Ta-Ree energy. This gift is the most highly sought after as it can infer force like powers to any follower who may not have been gifted with the use of the force.**

** Ta-Ree energy is in fact the Kathol’s manifestation of the force. No longer free to anyone who controls the Lifewell,Those who are gifted it will have access to force powers similar in strength to a padawan or sith apprentice. This gift comes with a sever limitation that over use of it will result in ever increasing psychological issues, including but not limited to paranoia, schizophrenia and narcisim to name a few. Another limitation is this power is only usable within the Kathol, once leaving it will dissipate.
Some of Ta-ree's more unusual powers were the Pyrospray and the Shadowstrike.

As both sects have very different agenda the Kathol ages ago came to the great accord to prevent a civil war from breaking out amongst those who remain. It states that no Kathol can ever raise arms against another. No Kathol can make a being act against their will save if a being swears to be a follower. Then they are free to treat their followers as they wish up to and including killing them. Followers may also combat one another and in this way “the court” and the “fiery ones” have fought proxy wars for centuries. The most recent one ending between the Qektoth Confederation and Uukaablians in 848

Mark of the follower

All who chose to follow one of the sects will be marked so all other Kathol will know their status and act accordingly. Those in service to “the court” will have their agreement written in ancient Kathol upon their flesh, usually on the forearm of their right arm, in silver. Those in league with the “firey ones" will have great black burns, runes written in Kathol, upon their backs.

As of writing this report there is only one known person who has markings of both on them, Marshal Bryce Bantam. Due to his contract between him and the Kathol the meaning of this is unknown due to the nature of his contracts forbidding him to explain them.

Child races the Kathol are believed to have created or helped create

  • Charr Ontee / Charon

  • Maoi

  • DarkStryder

The Darkstryder in turn crafted for itself a few servants which included the:

  • Krakai

  • Segmi

  • Yapi

  • Yimi

  • Zizimaak

  • The name of the category is simply Canon. The link is broken due to the last parenthesis not registering. Please fix both.
Content-wise the sub looks good for the most part. This is the only hiccup:

Ta-Ree energy**
Wookieepedia article on Ta-Ree:
[...] when the Kathol were freed from servitude they made sure that the Ta-Ree energy would never be usable again.
  • Could you explain how these 'remaining' Kathol that chose not to disperse retained this 'form' of the Force?

I took this to me the Ta-Ree from Lifewell, Meaning the Ta-Ree created by the Lifewell. My thinking on this was there were having it "stolen from them" and with the destruction it would never be able to be "used" in this manner.

If you want I can expand in the post that it would never be able to be usable "without their permission" would something like that work?

Possibly; though since you'll be using these guys as NPC, 'permission' is easily given within the span of a single post. If you could attach some sort of risk / cost to using Ta-Ree, this'd work much better, I think.

Other than that, please fix the OOC section as requested above.

Added the below toward the bottom of the post, and OOC section corrected.
