STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :
Silicon Based Life:
-Strength: Unhindered by the restrictions of carbon based life such as eating, drinking, and breathing.
-Weakness: Immovable without a droid body.

Electromagnetic Senses: As a shard, Katak's main and only means of connecting with the outside without the use of technology is through an electromagnetic sense. This sense grants an instinctive understanding of technology and droid function.
EMP: Electromagnetic Pulse could effectively render Katak's droid useless. Furthermore it would likely render him unconscious so to say, scrambling his electromagnetic senses.
Magno-Grip Palms and Feet: Katak has modified his Synthdroid body with Magno-Grip capabilities allowing him to adhere to metallic surfaces.

APPEARANCE:
Katak's base appearance and true self is a Cylindrical quartz-like shard. Harbored within his synthroid body he may almost appear to be a cyborg, though more machine than man. Much of the synthflesh has been ripped away by time, thus leaving much of the framework exposed. To better blend with society he covers his frame in a long sleeved black shirt with matching black pants that end just at the ankles with no footwear worn. A tattered dark grey hooded poncho is pulled over the top to finish off. Strapped to his belt beneath are his old padawan weapons, dual-interlocking lightsabers, and at their cores like crystals the emit a harsh purple-pink glow.

BIOGRAPHY:
Katak was relatively young, a hundred years give or take, when Jedi Master Aqinos arrived on Orax and began his teachings to the force sensative shard. Much of the collective minds opinion of corruption and perversion of their ways was shared by Katak. This new way of life was new and unknown. Shards were being taken from their colony and placed in droid shells, being given form and function never previously thought possible. Throughout the formation of the Iron knights Katak's opinion slowly changed and he too chose to leave his own colony.

Katak briefly served with the Jedi during the Clone wars right up into the issuance of Order 66. The Shard being somewhat new to the Galactic Alliance were somewhat of an unknown, for this when the Order was giving, Katak wasn't fully assassinated by the troopers. His droid body was irreparably damage. For centuries afterwards he had been doomed to be stranded within the hunched over rusting droid body.

It was quite some time that he sat there, no matter, the Shard were notoriously patient. Four centuries had passed before Katak had finally been rediscovered in 410 ABY. Years of advancement in technology had allowed for him to be placed within a droid frame that was more human. Synthdroid technology had not been fully achieved the last time he was capable of walking and it was a welcome change to the hulking juggernaut droid he'd previously been housed it. Katak sought out Orax, it had been so long since he had been home, but when he arrived he only found pain. He had learned of the Galactic Empires occupation of Orax during the galactic civil war and about how much of the Shard colonies had been destroyed. For the first time in his life he truly felt anger, not like when Order 66 was cast and they were betrayed, this was deeper. This was hate.

Katak reunited with the Jedi Order during height of civilization. He often times struggled to rebalance himself. The pain of Orax often left him conflicted. There wasn't much time for self pity. Before to long the terrorist attack hit. The single greatest atrocity in galactic history was spreading like wild fire. The virus never stood a chance at infecting him, being a crystal after all, but he was still every much involved. It was his Jedi duty to aid those in need. He was sent on a humanitarian mission to Coruscant bringing various medical supplies. Before orbit could ever be reached the ship they had been traveling on had been doomed. With stealth the ship had been boarded. In a matter of minutes airlocks blew open. Supply crates were ejected from the cargo hold and Katak who had been in the vicinity with them. Helpless again Katak watched has he floated around in high orbit. The supply crates had been intercepted by pirates and without mercy they had blown Kataks vessel into space dust.
For many years Katak meditated on situation, floating adrift in the orbit of Coruscant. He often thought that he would have been better off if he'd never strayed and left the colony all those centuries ago. The droids limbs and core process had begun to fail, freezing up in the dead of space. Ultimately Katak had decided to power the droid down and once again he was entrapped in a useless vessel. Katak retreats into his mind and slows his electromagnetic sense and mind process to a near halt where he essentially puts himself into hibernation.

Modern Era: Katak awakens on the surface of Coruscant. He finds that he had been recovered in a orbital salvage operation that had been cleaning up the remains of many years of strife. He becomes informed that he'd again been away from the world for a number of centuries and that in that time that deadly virus had died out. It was a relief to see the living galaxy once again. Sometimes Katak contemplates returning to the Jedi order but he undeniably knows that he feels anger for a great many things that were done to his people and that he saw done to others in that age when the virus had peaked. He knew these feelings inside him would not dissipate over night and as a Jedi they would only hinder him.
