SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Unstable synthetic red kyber crystal (Primary)
  • Barab ingot heat-amplification matrix (Secondary)
  • Dual-phase function enabling extended curvature and blade length by two meters. [ 5ft extends to 7ft ]
  • Curved sickle/khopesh-style emitter architecture
  • Phrik-coated durasteel hilt resistant to lightsaber strikes
  • Hybrid containment field with aggressive magnetic pull
  • Elevated energy torsion for enhanced blade stickiness during clashes
  • Reinforced actuator rings to handle instability surges

STRENGTHS

  • Highly aggressive blade geometry optimized for hooking, binding, and trapping enemy lightsabers.
  • Unstable synthetic crystal produces heightened cutting power and chaotic impact.
  • Dual-phase function allows dramatic changes in blade curvature and reach.
  • Barab ingot amplifies heat output, causing extreme thermal damage on contact.
  • Phrik coating grants the hilts exceptional resistance to lightsaber glancing blows.

WEAKNESSES

  • Unstable crystal and barab ingot matrix require constant micro-adjustments.
  • High energy torsion creates risk of blade sputter or uneven extension if disrupted.
  • Increased "stickiness" works both ways. Karok must exert greater effort to break blade locks.
  • Complex internal architecture makes maintenance extremely difficult for anyone except Karok.
  • Occasionally may overheat and shut off.

DESCRIPTION

Karok's sickle-bladed lightsabers were a pair of highly specialized Sith weapons known for their aggressive blade geometry and volatile energy output. Constructed from reinforced durasteel hilts coated in phrik, the weapons were capable of surviving glancing lightsaber strikes and intense thermal feedback. The curved hilt frames housed a complex bifurcated energy matrix designed to shape the blade into a scimitar-like arc, optimized for hooking, sweeping, wrenching, and trapping enemy blades in close-quarters combat.

Each saber's core utilized an unstable synthetic red crystal, deliberately overdriven during forging to increase raw destructive output at the cost of stability. This crystal was paired with a Barab ingot, positioned in a secondary matrix chamber to operate as a thermal amplifier. When energized, the ingot superheated the blade's energy envelope, causing the saber to burn with a fiery, turbulent intensity. In practice, contact created deep molecular scarring even on durable materials, making the sabers particularly lethal in heavy combat.

The internal engineering of the sabers featured an aggressive containment field, designed with a higher-than-standard magnetic torsion. This causes opposing lightsabers to "stick" more firmly during blade-to-blade contact. In a clash, the containment fields would partially interlock, requiring increased strength or leverage to disengage. Karok utilized this to dominate blade locks, forcing opponents into disadvantageous positions or dragging their weapons into the hooked curve of his own blade.

A defining feature of the pair was their dual-phase function, which allowed the blade to elongate and deepen its curvature. When activated, the sickle shape intensified, extending into a near half-moon arc reminiscent of a harvesting sickle while retaining the brutal cutting profile of a scimitar. This mode placed additional strain on the unstable crystal and Barab ingot, creating a brighter, crackling blade with significantly amplified thermal and kinetic output. However, the enhanced curvature also increased stress on the emitter rings and required careful handling to avoid destabilization. This could be managed by fine tuning the weapons while the dual-phase mode was active. Like playing a instrument it requires Karok to manually vent out the excess heat through the vents on the pommel. Mismanagement resulted in overheating and deactivation.
