STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :
Karlist Rax is a very tricky man to pin down. While he does wear his emotions on his sleeves, the former First Order Admiral is still rather duplicitous as to his goals and objectives and is open about the fact his loyalty has and always will be to the First Order. Atop that, Rax is an infamous bull. A man whom when slighted or faced with incompetence and ineptitude is quick to temper and willing to berate subordinates and superiors. But that isn't to say there aren't redeemable qualities. Behind the bluster and politicking is an officer with a keen eye for strategy and logistics. An experienced operator who understands what must be done to secure victory.

APPEARANCE:
Lanky and grey, Karlist Rax is exactly what one anticipates when they see a stuffy man with in imperial drab. Cold grey hair with deep blue piercing eyes. His skin, pale from having spent decades within the confines of First Order destroyers. He carries an almost ghostly figure, gracefully gliding in and around a room with a callous sneer. However, when riled he can command a room with his gross rancor and quickly dominate any place where those who have disappointed or failed him abode.

BIOGRAPHY:
Karlist Orville Rax epitomises a caste of a now dead military officers known as the ‘Dosuunian Officer’. A caste epitomised by a low to middle class background, urban upbringing, decent education and ruthless nature. A generation of military professionals lionised and forged by the wars against the First Orders enemies. Karlist’s upbringing was of the latter. His father was a reasonably successful small business man, a butcher to be precise, purveying and specialising in small goods. Karlist was not really a special student. He neither excelled in sports, and academically he had little interest in that, so the Dosuunian military it was. Karlist initially made his bones as a navy reserve man, with an actual rank of ensign and spending his time either loitering on base or working in his fathers store.

Karlist was thirty two when the First Order first arrived and by that time he had transitioned fully to naval service, working his way as a senior enlisted navigator aboard a frigate. When the First Order arrived and imposed its rule over Dosuun, the military establishment grappled between resisting the Order which had been forcibly removed from Eriadu or submitting. Karlist’s frigate was particularly split, with the captain and several officers decided to resist, and Karlist and many of the enlisted crew standing for it. There was a violent scuffle, which only ended when Rax vented the Dosuun loyalists into the void. For this loyalty, Karlist was made a junior commander, and so his career began.

Rax’s career soon overwhelmed him and he became subsumed into the First Order war machine, working closely with One Sith defector, Cyrus Tregessar in campaigns to expand the Order’s borders and worked his way to Commodore. It was at this point, the first First Order-Galactic Alliance War broke out and the First Order was drawn into a conflict which very quickly turned from reeling from an unprovoked attack into a series of stinging triumphs against the Galactic Alliance. With the wars conclusion, Rax’s command was reattached to that of newly minted Fleet Admiral, Carlyle Rausgeber.

Karlist was made an Admiral of the newly minted First Order Sixth Fleet, the offensive arm of the First Order Navy. It was here he would be clinical in the fleets logistics office, working closely with the secretly deceased Fleet Admiral in his plans to invade the Galactic Alliance. Rax made a name for himself, shoring up of defences in the Ison Corridor as a counter measure in case of Galactic Alliance counter attack under the strict orders of Grand Admiral Rausgeber. Karlist then worked as the chief logistics officer rearming the First Order war machine as it steamrolled through the Galactic Alliance crushing them first on the Hydian Way, and then delivering a clinical blow at Dagobah. By wars end, Karlist was within the inner circle of Grand Admiral Rausgeber, and one of his most trusted lieutenants.

When the Ssi-Ruuvi Incursion came, Karlist was overseeing repairs of the Sixth Fleets Krayt Squadron at shipyards on Hoth. The Hoth Naval Yard was struck hard and fast, with many of the ships destroyed in an initial assault and sunk into their repair bays. Rax however managed to organise a counter attack which effectively allowed most of the remaining fleet to depart. With the First Orders Central Command almost entirely gone, Rax and a majority of his forces rendezvoused with Grand Admiral Rausgeber as he attempted to rally what remained of the First Imperial fleet to his cause. Most however departed with Grand Admiral Tregessar on his quest for revenge against L’weck, where the cursed saurians had come from. Rax however would find himself working logistics for Rausgeber's Retribution Corps, organising raids and assaults on former First Order worlds until the time came to move from the backwards Pa'Desh, back to the greater Galaxy.
