Character Karesh

The Cyclops of Panatha

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ Mental Immunity

Karesh is practically immune to Force-based mind control and influence due to his Epicanthix heritage, making him extremely resistant to Jedi or Sith manipulation.

+ Psychometric Insight
Though he doesn't fully understand it, Karesh can read emotional and historical impressions from objects through touch, a latent trait from his Kiffar bloodline.

+ Unrelenting Precision
He never hesitates. Once he accepts a contract, it is fulfilled with methodical brutality and zero collateral concern.

+ Charismatic Terror
Karesh commands loyalty through fear and conviction. He doesn't need to shout—his presence alone silences rooms and stirs fanatics.

+ Force Sensitive
Karesh can wield the Force, using it to enhance his physical prowess and sensory awareness. His application is raw but effective.

______________________________________________

– Force-Reactive Physiology
Force healing and restoration have no effect on him—and often make his injuries worse. His body rejects restorative Force energies like a virus.

– Overload Response
Overuse of the Force causes Karesh to suffer painful physical symptoms, including hives, inflammation, and internal stress. His power burns him the more he draws on it.

– No Moral Filter
Karesh is willing to do whatever it takes. Innocents, allies, or institutions mean nothing if they stand between him and his objective.

– Legacy of Ash
He survived the fall of Panatha, but the loss left him hollow. His grief manifests as violence, control, and a deep, simmering rage.

– Living Target
His reputation precedes him. Jedi, bounty hunters, and old enemies all have reasons to track him down, and many want him dead for their own reasons.

BIOGRAPHY:
Karesh was born on Panatha, homeworld of the Epicanthix, a warlike people known for their resistance to mental manipulation and their unwavering devotion to strength, discipline, and legacy. The product of a union between a Panathan war-commander and an offworlder of Kiffar descent, Karesh's maternal lineage was kept deliberately obscured. His mother disappeared early in his life, and her name was never spoken again.

Raised among soldiers and aristocrats who viewed mercy as weakness and power as birthright, Karesh was groomed to serve, not as a noble heir, but as a weapon. From a young age, he was trained in close-quarters combat, marksmanship, interrogation, and battlefield psychology. His upbringing within the rigid, hierarchical military culture of Panatha forged him into a disciplined and merciless operative.

Karesh distinguished himself early on through his near-total resistance to Force-based influence and a rare gift: the ability to glean fragmented memories and impressions from physical contact with objects- a trait tied to his Kiffar bloodline, though he remained largely unaware of its significance. These unexplainable "echoes" made him valuable, even feared, by the intelligence branches of Panatha.

His life changed permanently after a skirmish during a failed internal purge left the right side of his face maimed by shrapnel. He survived, but lost his natural eye. In its place, he was fitted with a custom red cybernetic replacement- an ocular implant that became his signature, both on the battlefield and in intelligence records. Over time, the "Red Eye" became synonymous with disappearances, executions, and high-profile assassinations across the Unknown Regions.

Karesh was off-world when Panatha fell. The annihilation of his homeworld during a catastrophic Force ritual, one involving the Maw, the Eternal Empire, and cult forces beyond comprehension, left him without family, without rank, and without a homeland. He did not mourn publicly, nor did he return. Instead, he vanished into the underworld.

Since the fall of Panatha, Karesh has operated as a freelance bounty hunter, mercenary, and executioner. But his actions have grown increasingly symbolic- calculated acts of terror and targeted annihilation designed to send a message. Rumors circulate of a cult forming around him: a violent sect that believes in pain as penance, memory as truth, and destruction as divine justice.

While Karesh possesses the ability to wield the Force, his body violently rejects its healing properties. Regenerative abilities have no effect on him, and excessive use of the Force triggers severe physical side effects, including blistering skin reactions and systemic pain. Some theorize this reaction is the result of a genetic incompatibility between his Force-sensitivity and his unique hybrid physiology. Others believe it is a curse, an irreversible scar left by the destruction of Panatha.

Today, Karesh is more than a name. He is a reputation, a warning, and a symbol of absolute resolve. The Red Eye sees, judges, and does not forget.
