Father of Titans
I was mad. Almost furious. I had been thought as a fool, and my men doubted my ability to perform after the two rescue missions that had taken place to get me. Even more so, I had wasted a good week of my time.
It was a week ago that I set out, knowing that if I were to go and gather the Omega Sword, I would rid my name of it's impurities. I gathered my gear, and set off to the mountain alone. The challenge? Sheer cliffs Kilometers high in the air, local beasts that would beat you down to protect the sword forged by the gods. It had taken me four days to reach the top. Using my physical strengths alone to climb, I was sore, tired, hungry, and filled with anger. Reaching the top, all that remained of the stories of a temple dedicated to the sword, an altar in which the sword was plunged into. and the souls of thousands of beings who had died trying to reach the top, were not there.
It was a lie. A lie was fed to me, and I was gullible enough to seek after it. When a man reaches for the stars, he often stumbles after a simple straw. Here I was standing on the top of the world, with nothing to show for it. I was fed a lie, and now I would make another. It took me three days to climb back down. This time I used the force as telekinesis to slow my descent in falling so I could move past obstacles with ease.
Once reaching the bottom, I broke one of the clips on my harness. On the last jump, I fell down on purpose to bruise myself up and break a few bones. I returned limping as others questioned me for not coming back without the sword. The ridicule was worse than before. I had given up on the sword, and backed down, rather than go after the sword until my death.
I shook my head as I now was currently standing in the Hall of Knowledge, the vast library where tomes, datapads, and other things filled with knowledge collected over thousands of years sat. It was here that I looked for knowledge, as well as Neth the Keeper. I would come to him in private, and pull the lying card out on him. The myths were giving us a false sense of hope, or it all was a lie. I would find out soon enough.
In the meantime, I still needed the sword.
