Just a humble Bounty Hunter, Ma'm.

Veeks

Just a humble bounty hunter.
Home, sweet home... Lendo thought as he walked down the crowded streets of Coruscant. The elegant, metropolitan appearance was a pleasant change in atmosphere after journeying to places like Nar Shadaa and Tatooine. Most planets with a heavy criminal underground presence practically oozed crooks, dealers and crime lords. On Coruscant, they at least had the decency of making it at least look clean, but every civilization had its dark crevices where the scum festered. Most would avoid such places, but to Lendo, and any other Bounty Hunter or Smuggler out there, scum meant a paycheck. Though it was night, the streets were illuminated by the zooming lights of the numerous vehicles that zoomed by overhead. Clear traffic wasn't a concept in Coruscant. Everyone was in a hurry to get to some big meeting they were 20 minutes late to. Everyone was distracted, which made for easier targets.

It had been a rough few weeks for Lendo. For whatever reason, he'd found himself in a drought, unable to find any decent paying jobs in his travels. Maybe people were just being more cautious than usual, not wanting to get caught hiring a merc for whatever deed they needed done. Finding no luck anywhere else, Lendo figured a trip home couldn't hurt. Every world had its fair share of criminals, no matter how pretty they looked. He'd docked his ship to have it tuned up with what remained of his dwindling credit supply, and headed off to the nearest cantina. There was usually a desperate schmuck or two willing to hire someone to intimidate a minor loan shark runner to be found in a Cantina. Hopefully he'd be able to find some small job to keep him afloat for a while, but it wouldn't hurt to find someone with an interesting job. He was getting profoundly bored.

After finally coming across a local cantina, Lendo stepped in, and was instantly hit with the musky stench of various alcoholic beverages mixed with the musk of the plentiful amount of different alien patrons. The dimly lit cantina was filled with the sounds of chatter, music and breaking glass. It was so full of activity, it felt as though the entire place was moving, like a representation of one's blood stream crowded with cells, or maybe a digestive tract would be a more appropriate comparison. Lendo tilted the brim of his hat over his eyes and kept his head down as he shuffled his way through the crowd, reaching the bar and ordering a drink before retreating to a nice secluded table in the corner of the bar. Lendo always preferred corners. No one could sneak up behind you.

He took a sip of his drink, grimacing at the after taste, and surveyed the crowd.
"Yep... Make all the different cultures and civilizations you want, but a cantina's always gonna be a cantina." He mumbled under his breath, grabbing the pair of goggles that rested on the brim of his hat and putting them on. Hopefully, someone would come to him. Hopefully someone with credits.
