Private Journey of Nerez

Journey of Nerez

The lights in most of the passenger areas were either turned off or dimmed, most noise making devices were also inactive or turned to their users personal headsets. It was quite aboard the Nerez, a passenger cruiser travelling on a long journey to the Concord Capital of Commenor. The peaceful hum of the hyperdrive was ever present and many were asleep. They were bound to arrive in the morning, and so, it was prudent for them to catch some rest.

This was not the case for the crew, however. While a few of them slept, the larger portion were either occupied preparing the next service run - breakfast service - or occupied managing the piloting of the ship. Mathieu stood on the brightly lit bridge with his hands clasped behind his back as he tried to peer at the Captain's monitor. He did not expect to find any valuable information on there - but large ships like these had always fascinated him and he wanted to see how it all worked. Eventually, the Captain couldn't help but to let out a chuckle "You know... you might want to work a bit on keeping those shadows in check if you want to avoid getting noticed" Mathieu's eyes went wide as he realised that he had been found out - and from such a silly mistake too. It was embarrassing to say the least. An awkward smile grew on his lips before he let out a light "Uhh, y-yes Capitan" followed by an awkward laugh.

Proving that he wasn't offended by it in the least, the Captain waved for the Padawan to come closer and to have a better look at Nerez' systems. Already feeling too awkward, however, Mathieu spoke before the Captain had a chance too. "I better check on the passengers, Captain" Letting out another chuckle, the elder flashed a playful smile before letting out a brief "As you were"

Venturing on, Mathieu headed back into the ship, slowly making his way from the brightly lit cockpit and crew quarters to the dimmed and quiet passenger areas. Just before entering a passenger section, however, he stopped. Standing there in his heavy armour, Mathieu let out a sigh before pulling his cloak closer, hiding most of the armour plates underneath the outer robe. He and two other Padawans had been assigned to keeping the ship safe - it was one of those duties that was supposed to teach Padawans about patience, service and always remaining on guard. Nobody ever really expected anything to happen, or at least, so he thought. Considering how many warzones and battles he had seen, just watching over some civilians would be a nice and welcome change of pace.
