Joav is, self admittedly, not a good person. He's killed men, women, and children for credits and haven't given a second thought to it. But somewhere he crossed the line, he did something which disgusted even him. And he is spending the rest of his life punishing himself for it.
Someone with a long memory might remember him as an elite bounty hunter who'd accept any mission regardless of its questionable ethics. You needed an unwanted child killed? You needed your parent burnt alive so you could finally get your inheritance? You wanted your cheating wife cut into bits and thrown into a river? He was the one to call.
Most assumed he enjoyed it, what other explanation could their be for his brutality? If you looked at him wrong or annoyed him he'd gun you down without a second thought. Even the most morally bankrupt were disturbed by him, just to his liking. He'd traverse the galactic spiral looking for work, all the while enjoying his well-deserved name of "The Droid Killer" called such because of his unfeeling.
But then he did something, what it was is anyone's guess. Something that made him truly look at himself. And what he saw he couldn't take mentally. For a while he went off the grid, with only account that he supposedly tried to cut his own wrists spanning that period. Then he came back, still his enigmatic, stoic self, but with a purpose. To rid the galaxy of people such as him and perhaps gain some measure of repentance along the way.
His associates, most commonly with their dying breath, asked themselves "what." What could a man like him have done so unnerving to bring about such change. What horror had he inflicted that warranted the horror he now inflicted upon himself ever waking moment of his life?
Whatever the cause, Joav travels the galaxy on what he calls his "penance." Whether or not it'll end with him as a smoking hulk remains to be seen...
[SIZE=36pt]Character traits[/SIZE]
[SIZE=13.5pt]Stone Cold:[/SIZE]Notorious for keeping his cool even in the most desperate or grisly situations. Has mentally conditioned himself to keep calm in hectic scenarios and focus on his objectives. In his previous career he was renowned for keeping his infamous calm tone of voice even while killing his targets in the most gruesome of fashions.
[SIZE=13.5pt]Killer:[/SIZE] Is an expert on killing in almost all its forms, from utilizing explosives to using his precision pistol. Has an especially keen interest in the killing of force users, and has trained his mind to resist telepathic probing. Makes him excellent for eliminating a wide range of sentients and especially force sensitives. He will not, however, kill someone who his mind cannot justify killing.
[SIZE=13.5pt]Determined to the Death:[/SIZE] Will complete the job even if, perhaps especially, if it means his death. Cares little for personal health and will do whatever it takes to kill his opponents. Makes him hard to defeat without killing him, both a strength and a weakness. Has an obsession with punishing himself for his past sins and will seek out danger.
The Fence: Joav's mind is tortured. Mentally he's conditioned himself to kill with impunity, but due to an event in his past that has caused him to live his life in regret, that conditioning is breaking down. This conflict within himself is making his mental health deteriorate, and if something doesn't happen soon he will turn insane. He personally believes he can do nothing to stop this or change himself, saying he's beyond redemption. However, if he can take out a few of his "moral equals" before he goes out, then he thinks he'll at least have done something good.
[SIZE=36pt]Physical Description[/SIZE]
Joav is short, his height being a little above one point five meters. He makes up for it however with his physical weight of about Seventy kilograms of pure muscle. He typically has a bit of stubble around his mouth, but only if he's not had the time to shave. His scalp is bald, a fact hidden by his white beret. He shies away from melee combat because of his height but will fight hand to hand if worse comes to worse. He is forty-seven years of age.
