  • A former GADF infantryman-turned-smuggler, Taeyang lives fast and free, dodging Corvettes, flirting with danger, and somehow making it home in time for drinks.
Underneath the banter and bravado is a loyal soul who fights for the people he loves—especially Jaehyun, his partner in crime. Quick to act, quicker to joke, and never quite willing to quit, Taeyang's reputation rides somewhere between hero and headache depending on who you ask.

  • HISTORY

Chapter 1 : ✦— WHAT THEY LEFT BEHIND

Born on Atrisia and raised by a war widow, Taeyang grew up defiant. He enlisted with the Galactic Alliance Defense Force not out of patriotism, but out of rebellion—to get out, go far, and prove he could matter.

Combat hardened him. The humor stayed, but his eyes got older.

He met Jaehyun in a foxhole on Tython. Blaster fire overhead, broken comms, two rookies fighting over and ultimately deciding to share a ration bar. They've been inseparable since.

Taeyang and Jaehyun served in the Galactic Alliance Defense Force during the Northern Border campaigns, back when the Dark Empire swept in fast and loud. They were deployed to hold ground that the Alliance didn't plan to keep—pushed to the edge of enemy territory with half-supplied regiments and broken comms.

When the pullout came, their unit wasn't on the list. No evac, no orders, no explanation. Just static over the comms and a whole lot of dead silence from command.

    They survived. Barely.

And when they finally got out? They didn't go back.

Now he runs guns, spices, and sometimes people who deserve better. He keeps his word. He keeps his blaster. And when things go bad, he always gets the last line.

    DUMB LUCK

Jin Taeyang is a man of improvised talents—none of them formally trained, most of them unnervingly effective.

He's a decent pilot, a reckless mechanic, and a dangerously persuasive liar, all rolled into one. He's not the type to follow a manual or protocol—Taeyang learns by doing, usually while things are already on fire. He's good with his hands in the "give me a wrench, a boot knife, and half a circuit board" kind of way. His solutions tend to look like sabotage until they work.

In combat, he doesn't fight clean or by the book—he throws punches, throws debris, sometimes throws himself. He's a master of turning a losing situation into a confusing one, and somehow walking away with the upper hand. Mostly due to freakishly dumb luck.

He has a kind of sixth sense for navigating places no one should know how to survive: forgotten starports, sketchy cantinas, broken freighters, blockade zones. If there's a way out, Jin will find it—usually by accident, occasionally on purpose.

And when none of that works? He wings it. Because somehow, that always seems to work for him.

  • PERSONALITY

    • ENFP - The Campaigner
If trouble had a face and a voice and could flirt in three languages, it'd be Jin Taeyang.

He's all quick grins and quicker lies, the kind of guy who can convince a customs officer to let him through while actively smuggling something in his boot. Charisma pours off him like engine heat. You don't know if you want to kiss him or yell at him—and honestly, he's fine with either.

Jin thrives on connection. He's got that "I just met you, but I'd take a blaster bolt for you" energy. Which is endearing, until you realize he means it.

He's magnetic, vibrant, and too curious for his own good. The kind of man who leans in when you speak, and who laughs with his whole chest.

Every decision he makes is instinctive and full-bodied.
He's not reckless. He's urgent. He's not shallow. He's open. He cares too much, and the galaxy has never been kind to people like that.

    CHARACTER TROPES
    • "I'll Fix It Midair" Energy
    • The Charismatic Disaster
    • Incurable Optimist

  • ✦ Relationship with Pak Jaehyun

Jin calls it "banter." Jaehyun calls it "emotional terrorism." The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
They're opposites on paper. Jin's all chaos, charm, and bright ideas he absolutely did not think through. Jaehyun is structure, silence, and that one raised eyebrow that says, "You're going to do it anyway, aren't you?"

And yes. Jin usually does it anyway.

Jaehyun is the anchor. The one who checks the numbers, balances the accounts, double-checks the weapons lock, and quietly mutters "we're going to die" while Jin is halfway out the hatch doing a zero-g backflip for fun and/or distraction.

Their love language is biting sarcasm, quiet acts of care, and arguing in the middle of shootouts. Jin talks big. Jaehyun rolls his eyes. Jin flirts mid-mission. Jaehyun groans and reloads his blaster. And when the chaos clears, they always check each other's bruises first.

Jaehyun doesn't chase Jin's fire. He just walks beside it, unbothered, holding the extinguisher.

Jin would never say it aloud—too risky, too real—but Jaehyun is the reason he hasn't burned out. Or blown up. Or accidentally married a Hutt crime boss in a "get out of jail free" plan gone wrong. (It was almost legal.)

    • Modified DL-44 Blaster Pistol
    • Hidden Vibroblade (Wrist-Mounted)
    • Scrambler Spike Kit
    • Smuggler's Utility Belt
    Carries:

    • Stimpacks
    • Credit chips (some real, some decoys)
    • Small plasma cutter
    • Emergency rations (usually expired)
    • A single, dented sabacc coin he refuses to gamble with because it's "cursed luck" (or "perfect luck," depending on the day)

      Holo-Locket
A beat-up, old-fashioned holo-locket with a grainy still of Jaehyun. He never talks about it, but checks it whenever Jaehyun's pissed at him longer than 24 hours.

    • Collects bad luck charms—broken dice, melted credchips, scorched sabacc cards. Says they're "blessed."
    • Has a soft spot for runaways and underdogs, and tends to do "free" work for desperate clients (to Jaehyun's constant annoyance).
    • Regularly "accidentally" adopts strays—droids, sometimes animals
    • Can't cook, but somehow makes great caf. Drinks it like it's oxygen.
    • His ship's nav system hates him and routinely tries to override his jumps. Jin insists it's "just flirting."
